They will take your money and provide no service. You will never receive any support apart from automated messaging trying to trick you into buying another subscription.

I have never heard of this company and I HATE horror movies, so I KNOW I didn’t sign up and just forget. This is a SCAM to get money from your account. They must have found my card details somehow and use this service to check they will work then I reckon if you don’t cancel your card other charges will start to show up.

I joined and all I got was errors my friend joined and had to speak to his banks about frard with the bank site no help DO NOT GET rip off

There is a reported ongoing scam by a third party that seems to have used Shudders weak credit card verification system to verify credit card details for nefarious purposes. A few Google searches shows that people who had an unauthorised Shudder charge often ended up getting more charges from other merchants as well.

These thing happen in a digital age. What was incredibly poor is that when I let Shudder know, gave them the screenshot of the transaction and supplied enough credit card details to identify the billed card they told me they couldn't do a reverse lookup of the account unless I gave them all of the details for the card down to the CCV number. It is either gross overreach in asking someone to further compromise a card or goes to show how poor their systems and operations are that they would need or think they need that information.

Cancelled the card with the provider and lodged a disputed transaction. Hope the merchant fee for all the disputed transactions makes them wake up to tthemselves.

Avoid on the basis of the customer service alone.

!I am absolutely disgusted!!! shudder took £47 out of my account after I signed up for the seven day free trial and every month to pay £3.99 but no I'm shocked 😲 I would never pay that sort of money for this I was quite happy to pay £3.99 I demand to be paid back !update! I have since realised that they took an annual payment how utterly disgusting and how dare they

This company has no information security. They put through 4 fraudulent payments against my HSBC USA debit card.

They have taken £50 from my account and I can’t get hold of them!

Shady business practise.
I created my account, didn't find any titles I liked and cancelled the same day, before my free trial ran out.
I was still billed the subscription fee.
I made a support ticket amd uploaded a screenshot with the ticket showing the charge on my bank account,asking for a refund. It took over a week for them to respond, to which their response was asking me to send a screenshot of the charges on my bank.
I just now got an email from them saying I never cancelled my account and it is still active, despite me answering the quiz of why I was cancelling of "I didn't find any titles I was interested in"
And they tried to get me to stay by offering a week's free subscription!
Absolutely appalling business practise.

I will be contacting my bank and asking them to reverse the subscription charge.

I signed up for the weeks free trial and they immediately charged me a years subscription before the weeks free trial was over.

My bank blocked it and I decided I do not want to do business with such a company so I immediately deactivate my account.

3 days later, whilst my account is deactivated, they tried to take a years subscription again.

I have reported them as a scam company to my bank and will not be dealing with them or their parent company AMC in the future.

Poor catalogue, and worst of all fallacious advertising: they highlight films as part of their catalogue before you subscribe but, once subscribed, you realise the film is actually not available!

This company just stole my money! Direct withdraw payments from my Bank account when I had never even heard of this company. Is that how they advertise? By robbing people. Shudder, shame on you. You are nothing but criminals stealing from helpless people.

Appalling service. I have no recollection of ever subscribing to this third-rate, rag-bag collection of duff movies, yet Shudder has taken over £40 from my bank account and refuses a refund - even though they acknowledge that I have never used the service. Avoid Shudder like the plague - it's a borderline scam and you cannot get a refund.

Charged during signup for free trial. Customer service takes days to respond to tickets and refused to refund the charge. Had to dispute charges with credit card company.

This "subscription" service is a total scam. Do NOT sign up - Shudder are thieves and will continue to take your money after confirming "cancellation"!!!

Cancelled subscription via Amazon (as the selection of films and shows were just awful), payments continued to be taken. Phoned Amazon/Shudder - the agent verbally confirmed the cancellation and that the cancelled months would be refunded, and she sent an email confirmation of this. A month later ANOTHER payment has been taken and no sign of refund.

Absolutely appalling on all fronts would 100% recommend to stay away from this horrific company.

Beware ordering Shudder, especially through Google Playstore. I wanted to try the "free 7 day trial". Money was taken from my account immediately, and $10 more than the annual fee. Had to request a refund asap from Google as there's a very small window to do so. Have spent 5 days emailing Shudder as they are intending to also bill me again at the end of the 7 day trial. Managed to get a refund from Google but Shudder sends emails saying subscription cancelled then the next one says I will be billed. Seems everyone wants your money with this one.

NAB unauthorised charge of $8.10 by Shudder, same as the other reviews. Called NAB they cancelled the card and have lodged a dispute now i need to wait for replacement. I never used that card online for debit payments only credits so how did they get everyone's CVV on the back of the card ? As thats the only way to authorize a debit AFAIK.

Way to scam people for what little they have left! Had to cancel 2 bank cards! They have this set up as a revolving credit so as soon as you set up new card the new charges would stick! The bank fixed you NOW Shudder!!!! Never have I ever heard of you! But you folks know what I think this scam started from a Dunkin mobile order! Watch your accounts!!! Always!

Unauthorised payments!!! 27 attempts since august 25th!!!! CBA cancelled my card. Ring your bank ASAP to get a new card issued.

Like many others, random charge to my account for a service I have never even heard of. Had to cancel the card and get a new one issued. SCAM. Probably a hidden box checked during an Amazon purchase, no one ever sees. They figure a few hundred million will be made while an insignificant percentage will notice the small charge. Worth the risk for them I guess, and they can claim ignorance and that there was full disclosure.
