Due to a change in my medical condition I had to change from annual to single trip insurance. After I received my policy I realised I had missed out two destinations. I rang again to correct the mistake. Through this entire process staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. I was also happy with the quote and the money due back from my annual policy was in my bank within a few days.
This is my 2nd year with Saga car insurance where they have been excellent from start to finish. I have not had to make any claims but knowing they are there counts. Very helpful polite experienced staff highly recommend

I moved to sage a few years ago
Despite never having made a claim on my home insurance my former insurance company raised my premium by quite a lot.
Sage was recommended to me and I have never looked back.
I have renewed every year with no problems and any questions I have are quickly answered my premium has not gone up by much over the years and I check every year I have enough cover.
I have recommended to some of my friends
User friendly website. Getting quote process easy, Pricing and product very competitive.
Awful customer service.
Took out a car insurance policy only to find that they have switched underwriters and policies no longer able to be viewed / managed on-line.
Five requests for insurance certificate to be provided - never received.
Virtually impossible to speak to anyone in person, even online chat took an absolute age.
When I contacted them to cancel I did not even receive a sniff of an apology and had the cheek to still charge their full cancellation fee.
AVOID
Easy to deal with, especially when adding new people onto my policy it was no trouble (they were over 50!) Friendly, efficient service - but I’ve never had to claim yet (and hope I never need to) but I believe they will have my best interests at the fore if I do!
I renew my insurance automatically. When the quote came in it was a bit higher that l expected, lnobtained a few quotes from other companies which were cheaper. I rang Saga up and was given a better quote which l took up. The person l spoke to was very efficient and l felt very confident of his abilities
My parents took out insurance in march for their trip in Dec, however my dad 71 unexpectedly passed away on 26th April, we contacted Saga last month to inform them of dad's passing and to cancel the insurance, they agreed to refund monies but on closer inspection was short by £156, when my mum 68 called back to ask why, the advisor said that they couldn't talk to her only dad, despite my mum saying that he had passed, the advisor spoke to a supervisor and agreed that mum could speak on behalf of dads passing. When mum asked why the refund was a £156 short, she was advised 'you're lucky that you even got what you did as it goes to the underwriters to decide and maybe if you'd called earlier you may have got it all back'. Frankly that's borderline rude and when do you exactly expect a person to call to inform the passing of a policy holder on the day they die?
Web site kept repeatedly failing then I was refused insurance.
ALL the other major companies offered policies. Stay clear and go elsewhere.

Reply from Saga Insurance
After phoning Saga Insurance, I had a very helpful conversation with one of their staff members, who was friendly, understanding and reassuring. They took the time to discuss my options and helped me find the insurance that was best suited to my needs. I felt relieved and grateful for their help, and the whole experience put my mind at rest. I would definitely use Saga Insurance again and would highly recommend them for their excellent service.
Always offer me great rates for single trips as i have medical condition (on dialysis)
I found your site very user friendly as not being very confident on computer it was fairly easy to do.
Foolishly I renewed my car insurance with Saga, I made payment on 1/8/26 and my bank statement shows the payment leaving my account, on the 10/8/26 I received a letter (dated 3/8/26) stating as payment had not been received my policy had been cancelled. I immediately phoned Saga and spoke to an advisor (whose grasp of the English language was not the best) who said yes according to her system my car was insured, I ask her to explain why I had received the letter and she was unable to account for that, she was also unable to contact any colleague to assist, I have requested the insurance documents via a 24hr delivery and now cannot use the vehicle until I received the documents as I really don’t trust the phone advisor, all she wanted to do (in my opinion) was to get me off the phone.

The policy is extremely comprehensive. The premium was not the cheapest I could find for my 101 year old mother in law and we may have changed providers if complications with having to provide power of attourney information had not arisen.
Sage gives me the confidence needed offering a great level of cover at a great price.
Very easy to use web site.
I especially like that you can fix the price for 3 yrs giving you piece of mind knowing what next 3 yrs will cost you.
After looking at a few other companies I settled for saga , it's now my 2nd year in a row using them, the website is so easy to use, the steps outlining the next stages of my policy were made simple to follow, signed and agreed my policy with no hesitation, received by email you can choose to receive by post, will definitely use saga again.
