Richer Sounds - Chester Reviews 

Bought a hifi system from the Chester shop, Adam was brilliant, I explained what I was after, what type of music I listened to and Adam advised accordingly. Excellent service.

From the first minute of my initial telephone contact,Craig,at the Chester branch, was extremely helpful.He offered to put together the two CD players I was considering,despite them not being currently available at Chester branch.As promised he contacted me when he was confident they would be onsite.We arranged a demo at a time that suited me,and he had set everything up for my arrival.He gave me coffee and left me to listen,occasionally checking I was okay.There was no pressure.After switching from one to the other it soon became evident which one I would be taking home.The unit I chose was an “open box “item in immaculate condition, which was offered to me at a very fair discount.I am currently enjoying my new acquisition in my existing system,and all is well in my world.Thanks to everyone at Chester,but especially Craig,for who it seems,nothing is too much trouble.

Very friendly, helpful and informative staff. Deputy Manager Jon and his Manager at the Chester branch even carried some of the store available items out to my car. The rest were delivered in double quick time the next day.

I had an absolutely outstanding experience at Richer Sounds in Chester. From the moment I walked through the door, the service was nothing short of impeccable. The team clearly knows their stuff — every question I had was answered with confidence, clarity, and genuine enthusiasm. It’s rare to find a place where the staff combine deep technical knowledge with such an easygoing, friendly approach.

The atmosphere was brilliant too. Plenty of good banter, no pressure, and a real sense that they genuinely care about getting you the right setup rather than just making a sale. It made the whole visit feel relaxed, enjoyable, and surprisingly fun. Came away with 2 Denon speakers that suit my requirements perfectly.

A special shout‑out to Ewan who was absolutely superb throughout. His knowledge, patience, and ability to explain things in a way that actually makes sense were top‑tier. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and personality, and he made the whole experience feel effortless. Honestly, he was brilliant (give the man a pay rise or at least a gold star 😝).

Overall, the entire visit was second to none — one of the best retail experiences I’ve had in years and well worth the trip from West Wales. I can’t recommend Richer Sounds Chester highly enough.

I received an email from richer sounds, being a member, informing me of a twenty percent discount on discounted goods. I had been looking for a new turntable and after a web search found a suitable one, but i did not act. When the email arrived i returned to the same web search and it was still for sale. i rang the chester store and spoke to a most friendly and helpful man. Who, after a stock search processed my sale via an email notification. It was fantastically smooth the TT arrived the next day. Really “brilliant”.

Super experience at Richer Sounds in Hoole with Ewan and team. Went in looking for a new turntable and immediately was given options and help with purchase. Will absolutely be returning in the future! Top service with a smile!!! Thanks guys, the turntable is fab too!!!

As usual, superb service from Ewan and all those with whom I came into contact at Richer Sounds - much better than having a box chucked at you as one does in one of the other well-known out-of-town shopping area stores. Really good advice and very prompt and timely delivery.

Initial contact was by telephone. Spoke to manager about my requirements and he located the item and reserved it for collection.
No problem in collection as was able to use the shop’s car park

We visited the Chester store. We had dug all our vinyl out and wanted a system to enjoy it all again. We wanted a system to cover two rooms, a turntable, CD and airplay music. Adam looked after us. His advice was superb. He guided us through what we needed and was conscious of price for us. He put together a recommendation which has proven to be spot on. We are enjoying all our old LPs, singles and CDs. It's bringing back so many happy memories. We had forgotten what we had in our collection. Adam was charming from the moment we walked in the door. It was a joy to meet him. He listened to what we wanted to achieve and came up with great advice. What can I say, nail absolutely hit on the head. Thank you Adam. Having done some research, I decided on a Denon DCD-900NE CD player, and went to my local Richer Sounds branch. It was the Sunday before May Day Bank Holiday Monday, and they didn't have one in stock, so set about ordering one in for the following Wednesday. All done quickly and efficiently, in a friendly manner, and I left. Tuesday morning, I was notified it had arrived, and sure enough, by midday I had it! didn't get the names of the 2 people I dealt with, but it couldn't have gone better. And nice to actually walk into a shop and buy it, knowing you're supporting a local shop, rather than mail ordering it from a multi-national conglomerate. I've used them before, and I'll use them again.
