**Rabbie's – 4-Day Isle of Skye and Highlands Tour ★★★★★**

**Rabbie's – 4-Day Isle of Skye and Highlands Tour ★★★★★**

I honestly can't recommend this tour enough — if ten stars were an option, I'd give it. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, from the route to the accommodations to the little stops along the way.

Our driver-guide, Jim Divine, made the whole experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing rich historical context and local culture at every stop, and he clearly took pride in making sure we didn't miss a thing. Even a five-minute stretch of road would have a perfectly chosen stop for photos — nothing was left to chance.

Four days flew by, and I have zero regrets. I'd do the entire trip again in a heartbeat. This experience has completely won me over as a customer, and I'm already planning to book more tours with this company — hopefully in other countries too. Their genuine care for the traveler's experience really sets them apart.

Thank you for an unforgettable trip!

Isle of Skye

We were on a 1 day tour from Inverness to Isle of Skye. It was perfectly planned (on time departure, on time arrival), there were many stops to make us feel comfortable. The driver and guide in one person entertained us the whole way, gave us interesting information, and made us feel very safe on the narrow roads. I do recommend the trip with Rabbie's!

Good itinerary, but can get better - poor experience with accomodation

Hi while the first two days of the trip were good, have particularly not liked the third day as it had hardly any places to visit and was just about coming back. Also the owners of Kilted fox have been very disrespectful and have been blaming me for damage to their room which I didnt do and also threatening legal proceedings against something that is not proven - so please dont provide stay at Kilted Fox to others

I do not recommend it. We knew the journey would be very long and that we would spend hours and hours sitting on the bus. Despite this, we were motivated to take the excursion. Other travelers' reviews convinced me. They said the driver made many photo stops, and even if it was only 10 minutes per stop, I was eager to soak up the scenery. Unfortunately, that was not at all the experience we had. First of all, I really wanted to see Rannoch Moor, and we only saw it from the bus as we continued driving. Yet, it was one of the places advertised in the tour. As for Glencoe, we only stopped ONCE (the only time we were able to get off the bus for 10 minutes in the Highlands), and not even at the most beautiful spot. Here are the only stops we made all day before arriving at Loch Ness: a 30-minute stop in Callander (completely pointless, it's a village with nothing but a souvenir shop), a 10-minute stop in the Highlands (I repeat: the only one), a stop at the Glencoe Museum, and a 2-minute stop to take a picture of Ben Nevis. That's it. In fact, photos should be taken from your seat while the bus is moving because those are the only times you can enjoy the scenery. We NEVER stop! I don't know if the people who commented that there were many photo stops with beautiful landscapes had a more dedicated driver, but otherwise: it's false. It's a complete rip-off. Don't expect a charming village at Loch Ness either; there are only two cafes and souvenir shops if you don't take the cruise. In fact, I'm deeply disappointed. I thought we'd stop many times to see beautiful scenery, even if it was only for five minutes each time, and that wasn't the case at all. So, if you're on the wrong side of the bus, you don't even get to enjoy the view through the window, and the return journey is a completely different route and utterly uninteresting. The longest stop was at a petrol station to eat and use the restroom. I was really looking forward to this excursion, and it will remain the biggest disappointment of my entire trip. So, even if you're willing to spend 12 hours on a bus, but like me, you're hoping for several short stops to soak up a bit of the Highland atmosphere: Run away! There will only be one.

Terrible customer service

The day before our tour, we visited the Rabbie’s office to avoid any last-minute issues by booking in person. We booked the whisky tour, with only my husband joining the optional distillery tour.

The staff suggested that we pay in US dollars instead of British pounds. We never requested this, but followed their recommendation, and our credit card was charged USD 210.

The next morning, we discovered that the distillery tour had not been booked at all. Instead of enjoying the 12-hour journey, I spent much of the day trying to resolve Rabbie’s mistake.

At the distillery, the staff apologised, acknowledged that the error was Rabbie’s, and allowed both of us to join the tour. However, we later received an email asking us to pay for two distillery tickets. When we returned to the office the next day, the manager initially insisted our payment covered only the tour. After we demonstrated the exchange rate calculations, they admitted the mistake and refunded the overcharged amount.

Although the refund was appreciated, this avoidable error caused unnecessary stress for almost two days of our holiday.

One piece of advice for future customers: if Rabbie’s offers to charge you in USD, we recommend paying in GBP instead. We never asked to pay in USD—it was their suggestion. We also noticed inconsistent exchange rates between the tour and the distillery ticket.

Despite these problems, we would like to thank our guide, David, who was friendly, professional, and entertaining throughout the tour. Unfortunately, our experience with the office staff and the departure terminal was very different. The tall organiser wearing a pink vest was rude, unhelpful, and showed little interest in resolving the situation.

We expected a relaxing whisky tour, but instead spent a significant part of our holiday dealing with administrative mistakes that could easily have been avoided.

Tour of Skye was absolutely amazing.

We had the most amazing experience. Our guide was wonderful (Shea). She kept us entertained with stories and history and was so knowledgeable. We were lucky (the fairies must have liked us) and had lovely sunny weather and the views were just absolutely stunning. Shea kept checking back with the group to see what we wanted to see/do and met all our expectations. There were no rough edges with the guide and the people on the trip. Our accommodations were comfortable (we were placed at a bed and breakfast) and the seafood in Portree was great. I would highly recommend a Rabbies tour to anyone who wants to experience Scotland at it's best. And ask for Shea!

Edinburgh to Skye

We just finished a 3 day tour from Edinburgh to Skye with Declan. I’m not sure what we enjoyed more—the amazing views of Skye or Declan’s story telling. (I think some of it may have actually been true). It was the perfect trip for my family of 7. If you don’t take this tour and specifically request Declan, you are truly missing out!

2 Day Inverness/HighlandsTour with Craig

We had a great time on our 2 Day Overnight Tour of the highlands and Loch Ness thanks to our wonderful guide, Craig. He made everything fun and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The vans were modern, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed each stop. The pace was good and we could fit in a lot of things to see, but not feel rushed.

Amazing tour and great guide-driver: Lauren!

Our tour to Stirling Castle and The Kelpies was amazing. Our coach driver, Lauren, was the most interesting, cheerful and funny guide I have ever had on a tour in ages! Thank you for such a memorable experience and great fun along so many kilometres between stops. Wonderful tour! We were a party of 8 teachers and students from Argentina and are sincerely grateful to Lauren and Rabbies. Hope to come back again to book some other excursions with you! :-)

My two day taster of Scotland

My two day taster of Scotland, from Edinburgh up to Inverness and back down to Edinburgh again via a different route was an excellent experience! We traveled in the comfort of a 16 seater mini bus and were extremely well looked after by our knowledgeable and helpful tour guide. He made sure that we had a comfortable and entertaining trip. The itinerary was well thought out and we saw many interesting stops along our way. I thoroughly enjoyed my two day trip and highly recommend Rabbies tours!
