Need to attend to broken equipment
Yanga Sports Water machine out of order again. I’ve given it a week this time before writing this. I’ve also noted that you apparently can’t leave Google reviews anymore for this gym: I wonder why 🤔
A shame - it’s a great gym in many ways, but things like this and equipment and massage chairs being out of order and neglected really let it down.

You sent the pin too late
You sent the pin too late! I waited for over an hour outside the gym for it to come. It says 10 minutes when you buy a day pass.It was only because there was a staff member there, who could see my sales receipt and so let me in. I could then only access the gym for 45 minutes as he had to leave. £9.99 for a day pass. More like 9.99 for and hour! What a joke! The pin eventually arrived 5 hours later and was only valid until 12am. Not really much of a day pass then.
Will not be using this service again.

Pilates & Yoga
Really like the Monday evening Pilates class. It’s a shame the instructor is leaving :(
Wednesday and Thursday yoga classes are also really good. The timing of Wednesday class could be later as a lot of people are still at work.

Dirty
The gym is very dirty and you don't even have enough cleaning materials to.even do.it yourself.
Not a single wipe or.cleaning fluid in the weights room downstairs

PureGym prides itself on being able to offer state of the art fitness facilities to our members in a safe and welcoming environment. We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can.

Rude Staff
The New Barnet PureGym's policy is you get 2.5h parking for free and another 1.5 hours if you enter your car's registration on the screen. I stayed 3h and was fined for not registering my car, which is my fault. The staff told me to appeal it and it would be cancelled since I'm a member of the gym. To appeal I required proof of attendance, which I had to go back to the staff to obtain gym logs. When getting this proof a manager spoke to me very rudely and was condescending, telling me how ungrateful I and other members are for having parking when other gyms do not have parking. Essentially, as a customer I am paying for staff to be rude to me. The parking company did not cancel the fine in the end.

There is no email telling me what…
There is no email telling me what schedule the gym is open in the festive period. Your general opening hours say 25 hours a day 7 days a week with no mention of 365 days a year so it’s very unclear

We gave all of our staff 1 day off for the year on Christmas Day to enjoy the day with their family and friends. Majority of our gyms re-opened on Boxing Day. Posters were placed in all gyms advertising the hours at least 1 week before so members were aware of this.

It’s a great gym
It’s a great gym. But there were two classes trying to outdo eachother on how loud their music was. And the instructors were shouting above that noise to make it worse. I’m all for some invigorating music but it was way too loud as a gym also needs to be an environment that gives you a peaceful workout if you want it and there was nowhere where the music was not overbearing.

Please read and take action
- Music is low or off with poor selection
- Staff not welcoming unless your interested in PTing
- Should have a set temperature for the gym
- Equipment not cleaned regularly
- Air freshener in toilets/changing rooms
- Equipment everywhere on weekends
- Under 16s using the gym no supervision
I could keep listing but the above would be a great start, under 16s can use the gym totally fine with that but groups of 4+ training is crazy, form terrible they will hurt themselves. Why not have a select time they can use the gym off peak when you have staff that can help them in their training compulsory induction perhaps.
