Absolutely shocking company

Absolutely shocking company. Incredibly unprofessional. Was given a time frame on two separate occasions for 9am-11am. No plumber turned up until after 2pm on both occasions.
Plumbers were rude and unprofessional.
Paid £350+ VAT for them to investigate the problem.
Was left with no work done and a £2000+ quote for the work to be done. Got a second opinion and paid £125 for the work to be carried out properly.

Great Service

Wow! So glad we found Plunger. Jim and his team helped us out tremendously. We recently began moving into a property that had plumbing that was around 80+ years old. We wanted to update the plumbing before we moved in, in order to not have any issues later on. Jim and his team were quick to offer their help and assistance. They were very detailed in their work, always making sure that attention was paid to every detail of the job. They were efficient and constantly kept me updated on everything, taking photos and videos of their work before and after. Their pricing was very reasonable and I would definitely recommend them for any future plumbing needs. Thank you Jim and his team.

Expensive for a misdiagnosis

Reported limited pressure of hot water in mixer kitchen tap. Paid £132 for 5-10min viewing that taps are broken, quoted £345 plus vat for new ones. Got a second opinion, this plumber pulled out my washing machine, diagnosed restricted hot water gate valve - replaced, cheaper cost, kept taps. Sent constructive email to Plunger ltd, spoke to staff, no acknowledgement or apology for misdiagnosis
Will not recommend obviously

Poor

Plunger were booked by my 85 year old mum to fit a replacement dishwasher. They ended up charging her over £320 for installation including some completely unnecessary plumbing work. DIshwasher wasn't secured to the surrounding units and tipped forward whenever the door opened. Contacted them three times for an explanation but no response.

BEWARE SCAMMERS - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This company is a scammer. I was quoted £50 + VAT for a boiler check up. Although my boiler was almost new and I don't think it was something serious the engineer told me over the phone (I'm a landlady) that a new valve needed to be installed there and then and that it would cost £265 or thereabouts. I was told it would have a 24 month warranty and that I would get a detailed invoice with description of the work done and the part that I was going to be charged for. The work was done in less than half an hour, and I was never sent a proper invoice nor warranty, nor description of the new valve so I could for example look up the market cost for it. Everytime I called to ask for this information, Scott (the dodgy receptionist) promised he will do it and quickly hung up the phone - three days in a row. A week since the work was done and £400 taken from my account and still no sign of the warranty and no proper invoice with job description. Dodgy and unprofessional.

Quoted £110 + VAT, but charged £346.

My boiler wasn't working - a simple lack of pressure which I was unable to rectify as the filling loop had been removed by landlord. I had no heat or hot water and a sick child - plus temperatures had dipped (it was early March) and despite promises by landlord to send an engineer out, I was still waiting after 3 days. In desperation I called Plunger. I was quoted £110 + VAT over the phone, which seemed fair enough. They arrived the same evening as promised (great) and said that the price would be £346. I feel stupid for paying so much, especially as it wasn't even close to the quote. I can't fault the work, they fixed the problem quickly and the boiler still works, but it was s simple fix (took ten minutes max). I asked for a receipt and was told that this would be emailed to me - they even made a point of taking my email address, but surprise surprise, 3 weeks and 3 phone calls later I am still waiting for one. I doubt that it will ever materialise. I stupidly paid cash as well. I didn't read the reviews before booking - again, my own fault, I wish I had.

Pricing that would make a Snake-oil seller blush.

Like many, I read the reviews of this company after I'd paid for the job; which by the way was fine. The plumber was efficient. But the pricing policy would make a market trader blush. I felt stupid for paying too much. This is how it worked .. (for me):-
I had water seeping from a toilet cistern which was overfilling. The urgent issue was not to flood the flat below.
I Googled "Plumber London SW9" and one company stood out. Plunger offered "Fixed price repairs £65" Bingo !
I called, and a very very good customer service person took my call. Very sympathetic, and could get a plumber on site within 4 hours... for £110 + vat (£132)
You know what? I went for it. It was completely clear and above board. Not a call out charge, but a possible fix. Not £65, of course, but it all sounded so efficient, and flooding the flat below could be avoided. I said yes.
Three hours later the very charming customer services person called me again. The plumber had been held up on a massive job, and could he visit tomorrow instead? I wasn't so happy, and said so. So I was offered the, ahem, discounted rate of £85 + vat to keep me on board. I said yes.
Of course, it was all immaterial. The super-charming Customer-service person had advised me that the prices quoted only applied "if the problem could be fixed with the odd seal or so"... and of course it couldn't be.
I was called again. The plumber was 'on site'. The problem needed some parts sourcing. That could be done. The price would be £385 + vat. That is £462 to you and me. Wow!! But the plumber was, indeed, on site, the flooding of the flat below could be avoided, the customer services person was so lovely... sod it.. I went for it.
And felt stupid afterwards.
So to sum up.
An efficient job. But an outrageously expensive pricing policy that takes advantage of emergency situations. and reading these reviews it has happened again, and again, and again.
And it is very suspicious that vast majority of the positive reviews are from people who have only posted one review!! Ouch.

Avoid if you're after a reliable…

Avoid if you're after a reliable company - Booked a plumber who was unable to attend on that day allegedly due to storm Eunice. Rebooked for the next day first thing in the morning. Again failed to attend. Phoned and was told he is on his way to me and will be no longer than 30 minutes. Phoned them back several hours later and told them not to bother and booked another plumber elsewhere.

Truly terrible rip off artists - DO NOT BOOK

I wish I had read these reviews before booking Plungers to do work for me. They charged me £418 for a "report" which was supposed to have images and diagnostics for a lead that was presenting on an interior wall. Repeated attempts to contact them have gone unanswered, and when I tried to phone, like so many others have shared her, they put me on hold and simply the phone down on me - 10 times! I've never been so ripped off in this country. Don't make the same mistake - avoid them at ALL costs, there are good people out there, these are not them!!

Steer clear of these scammers!!

Steer clear of these scammers!!! I am disabled and our boiler broke suddenly. Needed it to be fixed asap as it’s winter and these guys literally took our money then pretended to go out and buy & install new parts! The boiler is still broken obviously as they didn’t actually do anything to fix it, and they are ignoring our calls asking for them to come back. Will now have to shell out more money to actually fix the problem - and have been without heat for days extra.

Had a boiler problem

Had a boiler problem, rang them, booking made easy.
Andy rang me on the day. Arrived when he said he would. Very nice, very professional. Full covid guide lines followed and got straight to work.
He managed to answer any questions or concerns I had, with no worries. He found the problem soon enough and he even explained what it was. Gave me some choices, and I agreed to get a quote for further repairs.

All with in one hour.

Excellent service. Exactly what I wanted.

Thank you.

Worst Company Ever!!!

PlumbForce Direct LTD and Plunger LTD both companies I believe are owned by the same person Stuart Hall and managed by his son Scott Hall and in my opinion are the worst plumbing companies I’ve ever worked with or dealt with! I never ever thought I will be screwed for ££££ of pounds by an English company here in UK in the 21st century but it looks like you can never say never… I’ve worked with these two companies for around 2 months as a subcontractor and to be honest I never had such a bad experience with any company so far. The main reason I’ve quit from this company is because in my opinion they are very expensive, they charge too much, I felt like they are ripping people off… I mean to charge £414 for a kitchen tap? Seriously…? The worst part of all is that I, as a plumber had to deal with the customers bad feelings, disappointments towards the company’s charge services. I felt very bad for this woman as I’ve seen how bad she felt and how worried she became after finding out the price of the kitchen tap replacement (£414), I think she used 2 cards to pay the bill but I’m not sure. It’s a horrible feeling and I said I don’t want to be an accomplice to all this so I’ve quit very soon after this experience with that woman. I had many other customers being disappointed on the company because of the expensive charge or the miss communication but none of them affected me so bad like this case with the poor woman paying £414 to replace a kitchen tap (with a new one included in the price), it was too much for me so yeah, I’ve quit from the company and then the nightmare started for me…
Not only that when it came to get new jobs or make a parts order or take a phone payment was almost always impossible to get in touch with Scott or anyone else at the company when I really needed them, I always had to wait and wait until they called me back, so not only that they are not professional from this point of view, they were also paying me late, the payslip which I had to always chase and still until this day I didn’t received all them, were looking like someone who didn’t knew or just learned how to use Excel, very unprofessional but the matter in this cause is the change in behaviour after me giving to Scott Hall (the Operational Manager) which was the person I’ve worked with regarding jobs, materials, payments, etc., give him my 2 weeks’ notice as per contract. So yeah….after giving them the 2 weeks’ notice as per contract, they stopped giving me anymore job, none, zero! So they kept me home for 2 weeks without any work or money! I’ve wrote to ACAS regarding my situation and when they tried to call Scott he was hanging the phone in his face, twice not even once! So imagine, if they are so disrespectful with the ACAS conciliar then how do you think I’ve been treated? I called the office from a few phone numbers and the company blocked all those numbers so I can’t reached them! Now I’m just going to leave ACAS to try and get my money from them as I have contract signed with them, invoices, etc., and still they are not willing to give me the thousands of pounds they owe me and if it doesn’t work with them I’m going to sue the company myself! Simple as that! I fed up of this incompetent company’s and people!

Truly diabolical service

Truly diabolical service. They replaced three parts of our boiler, each time charging us before they did any work - it took 3 days of tears and frustration including having to call our gas provider to check the gas into the house was working, because they were trying to find any excuse beyond their own poor work for why they couldn’t fix our boiler. The ordeal cost us thousand of pounds and stress in the run up to Christmas - only resolved at 5pm on Xmas Eve.

Avoid like the plague, they will keep replacing parts, at huge expense, in the hope that something will work with zero understanding of how boilers actually work.

Diabolical!
