NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY. Zero stars if i could give it

They will rinse you any chance they get. I can’t believe i was silly enough not to read the 100s of bad reviews they have on trust pilot and google.

I should have read the reviews - avoid at all costs!

I should have read the reviews. The guy shows up and say he can't service or repair the boiler and we need to pay £6000 + VAT to replace otherwise he is cutting off our gas and nobody can use the boiler! These people are extortionists and charlatans - please avoid at all costs!

Unreliable

Completely unreliable. I had a gas boiler repair booked for a 10am–12pm window and nobody showed up. When I called to find out why, the agent hung up on me. Appalling service from start to finish.

Bad experience

I don't trust this company, I think they are massively overcharging. At the consultation, I was told parts cost more than what they actually did, and was persuaded into paying half up front for an expensive job. When I researched how much the parts actually cost, I figured out they were charging around £500 for labour for a 20 minute job. Proceed with caution, get a second quote.

New boiler install

We had a whole new boiler installed by these guys. I was unsure at first about the cost but they explained everything clearly. No hidden fees at all They even cleaned up after themselves which was a nice surprise. House is heating up much faster now and the 12 month warranty is great.

Coldest day ever

Boiler died on the coldest day of the year of course. Called plunger and they had someone here in forty mins. The engineer was called jim and he knew exactly what was wrong. Had the part in his van so it was fixed there and then. Paid the fixed price and got a warranty too. Really pleased.

Hugely over priced

Avoid! I wish I had read the other reviews first! A lewisham gas engineer went to look at my boiler that was gurgling and dripping water. I had a phone call from Plunger with the ‘diagnosis’ and a fixed price to repair it. This felt hugely inflated and they identified that the boiler’s motor behind the fan needed replacing and the condenser needed unblocking. I asked how much the hourly labour charge was and they couldn’t tell me and told me they just offered a flat rate??. It all felt dodgy and expensive so I told them I wanted to call someone for a second opinion. I got that and rang plunger back in about 10 minutes to say “no thank you” and agreed to just pay the call out fee - which I did. In that short space of time (15 mins) the plumber had taken it upon himself to correct the issue (unblocked the condenser and tightened a screw) and wanted £300 for the 20 minute job!!!! I pointed out that I hadn’t authorised the work to be done and I refused to pay the astronomical amount. His response was okay don’t pay but I will make sure the boiler doesn’t work again.

This company is not honest and it it employs crooks for gas engineers

DEEPLY UNRELIABLE SERVICE-I'M STILL…

DEEPLY UNRELIABLE SERVICE-I'M STILL WAITING, AND THEY'VE STOPPED ANSWERING MY CALLS. I wish I had read the reviews before booking Plunger. They kept making appointment times and then simply didn't turn up. I've now waited through multiple no-shows. Every time I called, the line went dead, or I was told someone would ring me back in 2 minutes - but no one ever did. I have been patient and polite throughout, yet I now suspect my calls have been blocked as they've stopped answering altogether. There is no customer service. After checking reviews, I can see I'm far from the only one who's had this experience. I'm furious and disappointed. Do not use this company.

Almost 7hs wait, for nothing

Prompt response to be fair. They gave me appointment for next day, and 3h window arrival. Just reaching 4h they call to postpone for the next day. Another 2h wait, reaching 3h they called me to tell me that would be "just"another 45'.
They are taking the mick

Rude staff…

I contacted them this week about a boiler issue, and as a customer, I simply asked whether the engineer would explain the problem before quoting the repair fee. The agent responded very rudely, saying, “Do you want to do it yourself?” This was before they had even arranged a visit to my home. I found the attitude completely unacceptable, so I decided not to proceed ― and I’m glad I didn’t. After seeing so many reviews warning about their terrible service, I feel I definitely made the right choice.

How are these people allowed to trade?

Extremely Unprofessional — Avoid at All Costs

How this company is allowed to trade is beyond me. I contacted them because a tenant was having heating issues (though hot water was still working). They sent someone out and quoted £580 for the repair, insisting on full payment upfront. I refused and agreed to pay half first and the remaining balance on completion.

They then carried out a temporary fix which failed within 15 minutes — and this time the hot water stopped working too, meaning the issue was made worse than before. We called repeatedly asking them to return and fix the problem, and every day they gave excuses promising “tomorrow.” Three days later, no one has shown up.

I also requested an invoice multiple times and received nothing. To make matters worse, they charged the remaining balance without my consent, taking the payment from my card without permission. How is this legal?

**AVOID this company at all costs** — completely unreliable, unprofessional and dishonest.

Terrible

Terrible. Unreliable

Made an appointment to visit my property was given a 2 hour window between 10am and 12pm. I phoned them 3 times and spoke to somebody called Scot. He said he would get back to me each time with an update but did not do so. Nobody turned up I was left waiting for over 2 hours. Do not use this company they are in reliable.

They never showed up. I scheduled a time for the plumber to come and he literally ghosted me. I called multiple times and was told they’d get back to me and simply never did. Do not work with unreliable people.

We had a boiler issue but when the plumber was dealing with it he found a leak from our heatbank water cistern. It had to be replaced and was expensive. The plumber was efficient and did everything he said he would; including turning up on time ( something not common today).

Engineer was a no show

I had an enginner scheduled for 9am who was a no show. I called the company repeatedly throughout the day, and was told the engineer was on his way. At certain points they stopped taking my calls. Finally at 4pm, they told me that they would “guarantee” someone would be there within 60 mins. Again, nobody came. I now have serious doubts that this company is actually legitimate. The fact that they lied to me repeatedly that an engineer was “on his way” makes absolutely no sense. Very frustrating but also suspicious. I can’t figure out what the scam could be.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company. Promised me they would fix our toilets in our commerical space ahead of a big event that weekend, kept leaving saying "they needed a new part" over and over again and on the Thursday ahead of the big event the plumber promised me and shook my hand that he would be back 9am the next day and it would be done, and then didn't turn up. The office kept saying they would 100% sort it out and promising times, then no one would show. I'd paid then £400 then had to pay another £400 to another firm to get it sorted hours before the event. Going to the ombudsmun to complain about them. They are liars and best avoided.
