We went on a family holiday with PGL. Stayed in a magical listed castle in Northumberland. Excellent value, brilliant staff and soooooo much fun! Also very good at managing dietary needs

A good British experience for our American children
At this tween/early teen age, situations are beginning to get a little uncomfortable. PGL has given us two opportunities now to force our children to work through them. The challenge this year is that our kids in the 11-13 range visited with those that were younger, and they felt it! We did not realize PGL staggered groups but we know for next time.
While, right now, our children do not want to return for a visit to ANY site, I am confident we can find a good experience for next summer.
At all times, we felt they were safe. They DID go with phones and had opportunity to ring, and they saved those times for what was truly important. We rang the on-call number and were immediately in contact with staff who tried, with other staff, to facilitate a better experience. Couldn't have been more pleased.

Big thumbs up from my 8 year old
My 8 year old daughter had the most fantastic 2 night 3 day stay at Bawdsey Manor this Summer. She went alone but quickly settled in, made friends, had great new experiences and challenges and was devastated to leave. I didn't get and didn't want a detailed run down from staff of what she did or was doing the whole time, so I only have her account to go by, but the staff did contact me once about something minor and that reassured me that they do have a close and continuous eye on all aspects of their wellbeing. I will be booking again at my daughter's request.

My daughter came back extremely happy with her experience at PGL Liddington and already said next year she would like to stay 2 weeks instead of one.

Repeat customers!
Both my daughters repeatedly ask when they can return to PGL camp (Marchants Hill) they have been 3 times already this year during the school holidays. They always come back to full of enthusiasm and tell us how much fun they had at all of the activities. Never a dull moment, often they come back shattered and needing several days to recover from all the excitement.

It was the gift of being himself
My 11 yr old grandson has had a traumatic year -his dig died, his grandma nearly died and his parents split up. After his initial three nights he asked to stay for another four. Then another week (this was refused). While he was at PGL he said he felt different - freer and happier. I credit the staff and the other children with helping him put down new happy memories over his traumatic ones.

My son had an excellent trip
My son had an excellent trip. He loved all the activities, he enjoyed the food (a bit of a rarity) and really engaged with the entire trip.
He was smiling from ear to ear when I had a video call with him and was exactly the same when I picked him up. In his words he had “the best time ever”
Staff were fantastic throughout and communicated really clearly when needed and the location at Bawdsley Manor was idyllic.

Lack of proper supervision that exposed my son to a sexual encounter. He is being sent home but PGL staff allowed at night for 13 year old boys and girls to be together and even allow them to take blankets out of their rooms to then
Bed together and touch each other. I will be raising this with ofsted and any other authority that needs to know of this

A very different Camp for a Scout Group
As a Scout Group we as Leaders are very used to planning activities and keeping our Children entertained.
The staff at Newby Wiske handled all of that from making sure we were in the right place at the right time to keeping our children entertained between activities.
Everyone from our Group Leader to Instructors to the Chef and catering team were brilliant with our Neurodiverse children ensuring everyone had a great time, could access the activities and were fed.
We will definitely be back.

Angry and disappointed
The stay itself was not bad, but I’m very annoyed and disappointed with the staff. After dropping my son off at PGL, I realised she had forgotten his bag of slippers and sandals. So the next day I brought it to the centre and the staff at the reception instructed me to leave it with him, with a post-it of my son’s name.
At the end of the stay, I picked my son up and we left, then my son pointed out that he never received the bag of shoes (which I had only bought the week before so they were brand new).
I called the centre asap and the staff said they will get back to me. Later, they emailed and said they can’t find it and will keep an eye out. I replied stating my frustration and requested for compensation. But my email was never replied to.
So basically, not only have they not passed the bag to my son, they have randomly given it to the wrong kid, AND they are not taking any accountability about this.
This shows how badly situations are handled when things goes wrong and I would not trust my kid in their hands again.

Osmington Bay Centre
Osmington Bay Centre - fabulous location, team and facilities.
We attended this centre for our 10th annual pack holiday for our Brownies.
The girls had an exceptionally positive experience and we now need to decide which centre to visit next year as we normally go to Little Canada on the Isle of Wight.
We visited Osmington Bay on our first holiday in 2015. The site has been vastly improved and the location overlooking Portland Bay is stunning.

I had a great time at PGL BArton Hall…
I had a great time at PGL BArton Hall with my granddaughter who is 13. I was looking for fun things to do together in a safe, easily facilitated environment. PGL was perfect. All fully inclusive. Everything arranged and made so easy to take part in.all
Equipment supplied so no planning. Felt safe and valued by the team who were amazing. So friendly and made it such fun for the kids and adults alike. Would def recommend for a fun time with the kids. Great location in Devon too with sea views from the camp. We went on to have a few days in Torquay.
