We went on a family holiday with PGL. Stayed in a magical listed castle in Northumberland. Excellent value, brilliant staff and soooooo much fun! Also very good at managing dietary needs

My child had a great time at PGL…
My child had a great time at PGL Liddington. It was her first time and she went totally by herself. She loved every minute. Her second night was a bit unsettled with some nightmares, but the team were on hand to comfort and distract her and when the morning came she was keen to crack on with more activities
Kids had a really good time
Kids had a really good time, lots of great activities, made friends and had a good holiday away!

Fantastic Residential Weekend at PGL Bawdsey Manor!
Fantastic Residential Weekend at PGL Bawdsey Manor.
From start to finish, the staff were absolutely brilliant - friendly, welcoming and incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and they went out of their way to make our group feel special and to have a great time!
Our whole group all thoroughly enjoyed the experience - especially the songs they learnt between activities.
It was wonderful to see the children in our group all getting involved, encouraging each other, trying new things and building confidence in themselves.
A huge thank you to the whole team at PGL Bawdsey Manor for helping us build great memories with our young people.
We would definitely recommend PGL to others and would love to return in the future!
For the third year running our child…
For the third year running our child has had the most amazing time and made friends that he still keeps in contact with. PGL make everything from booking, dropping off and picking up so easy and we have no hesitation in giving the whole holiday process 5 stars.
As for the holiday itself, the young people just have so much fun and it teaches them independence without having parents/carers with them 24/7.
All children should have the privilege to experience
My daughter enjoyed every minute of her 4 night break to PGL she came home very pleased to share her experience and requested to return next summer. She even had the holiday blues for a couple of days! She made friends quickly which I think was due to the staffs ability to create a good atmosphere and a focus on team building.
We experienced really poor…
We experienced really poor communication (non-existent) from
staff when my daughter, for various legitimate reasons, wanted to leave early. They told her that they had emailed me but I hadn’t replied. That was a lie. I had no idea.
The staff at Marchants Hill are incredibly young and I would really worry about how they would manage in an emergency situation, there seemed to be no ‘adults’.
Smelly toilets and poor food. I think this is a fine trip for a school when there are teachers around but worrying when it’s just loads of kids and a bunch of teenagers in charge. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience.
My daughter has been to the PGL with school at Isle of Wight and it seems like the accommodation, food and staff are more consistently good there. She loved that trip and the staff and has a great time.

An Amazing Week at PGL Liddington
We couldn’t be happier with our son’s experience at PGL Liddington. He has had an absolutely incredible week, and we will definitely be coming back!
From the very moment you arrive, you get the feeling that you are leaving your child in a place where they will be incredibly well looked after. Everything is so well organised, and you can immediately see how much care and attention goes into making sure the children are safe, happy and having the best possible experience.
A special thank you to Max, his instructor, and to the whole team for making this week so amazing for our son. Max was fantastic, and it was clear how much effort, enthusiasm and care he put into making sure everyone had a great time.
The facilities are absolutely impressive, with so many activities and things to enjoy. But, as a parent, what really makes the difference is the peace of mind you feel from the very beginning. You simply know that your child is in good hands.
Thank you to the entire PGL Liddington team for giving our son such an unforgettable week. He has loved every minute of it, and we will definitely be back! ❤️
My kids loving PGL as much as I did!
It’s so great to see that my children are enjoying their trips to PGL as much as I did in the 90’s! Their time at PGL gives them a real summer holiday, it’s outdoors and hearty, full of friendships, games and singing, we love it!
Unforgettable Adventure and Endless fun!
My child recently returned from a PGL holiday, and he hasn't stopped talking about it since. The activity schedule was action-packed—from the giant swing to raft building—keeping him fully engaged and energised throughout. The instructors and site staff were exceptionally encouraging, warm, and attentive, ensuring everyone felt safe while stepping out of their comfort zones. Accommodations and food were simple but comfortable and hearty enough to fuel a busy day. It offered a brilliant boost to his confidence and independence, and he is are already asking to go back next year!
Shout out to Cora who worked incredibly hard to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Amazing range of activities
Amazing range of activities, great location and pool, super friendly and professional staff. Brilliant for building confidence, responsibility and family bonding. Excellent value for money
Great activities. Other things let it down.
Me and my two girls (10 and 11) spent 4 nights at the family break at Caythorpe Court.
We found it very easily to travel to via train to Grantham from London and then book a taxi (£30) to the site. Ample car parking is available for those taking their own car.
Anyone booking a PGL activity break is there, primarily, for the activities and these, in general, did not disappoint. I am not one who enjoys "heights" so I would, personally, have preferred more lower-level activities.
I found the catering very good - with a few niggles. The toast could have been more "toasted" rather than just heated bread at breakfast; I would have preferred lighter food options for lunch (soup/sandwiches rather than burgers/fish fingers); and I would have preferred "home made" sponge cake for pudding rather than "shop bought" cakes/brownies. The evening meal was always tasty and the catering staff were excellent at giving you just the portion size you wanted.
The room size was fine, the beds were comfortable, the shower was hot and I was grateful for room service/towel change part way through the stay.
Where PGL could improve is thinking about who is allocated neighbouring rooms. Whilst a quiet night is never guaranteed, we would have preferred to be allocated a room away from teenage boys with a much later bedtime than my family.
The onsite shop is great for souvenirs and very reasonably priced - as is the airstream cafe/bar.
Overall, we had a lovely break - but little things could have improved our experience.

Went to PGL Dalguise 35 years ago...
I went to PGL Dalguise as a kid 35 years ago and had the chance to take my 8 year old son back there this summer. I swear that there are things in my life today that I can take in my stride only because I got to go there and have my boundaries pushed. My son had just as much fun this time around and I'm so glad kids still get to have this experience. PGL Dalguise is like a mountain, old and strong, it goes on and on!

I attended PGL Dalguise 35 years ago and had a life-changing experience. I swear that there are certain things in my life today that I can take in my stride only because I got to go there as a kid and have my boundaries pushed. This year my 8 year old son went in my stead and had just as much fun as I did. I'm so happy he had that opportunity. PGL Dalguise is like a mountain, old and strong, it goes on and on!
Had a great time at PGL Barton hall
Had a great time at PGL Barton hall. Booked last minute and wasn’t sure what to expect. The accommodation is very basic and the shower wasn’t the best, but it’s a step up from camping if you like that sort of thing!, but still lived out of a bag as there aren’t really any wardrobes to hang clothes. That aside, the staff are great and the activities are all good fun, for adults and children. The food was generally good, we had one bad meal on the first night which made me think this is how it’s going to be for the rest of the week, but honestly, after that, the standard was pretty decent and actually enjoyed it. The thing I loved most was not having to decide what we were going to eat or do for the day. The whole day is planned for you. We were lucky with the weather which would be a big factor, as there are a lot of outdoor activities. We actually left the site for half a day to go and visit Dartmoor (Haytors rock) and watch the eclipse and shooting starts which was fantastic. We also went to Kent’s cavern which is also worth a visit whilst you’re down that way, if you get time.
PGL- Caythorpe Court
We had a fantastic family holiday at Caythorpe Court. The beautiful setting, friendly staff, great range of activities and good food made it an enjoyable experience from start to finish. The children loved every minute and are already asking when we can return! We would definitely recommend Caythorpe Court to families looking for a fun, active and memorable holiday.

A fantastic four day activity holiday
A fantastic four day activity holiday, great food, pleasant accommodation and outstanding staff and activities - everything from Archery, Rifle Shooting and Axe Throwing through to Problem Solving, Survival skills and orienteering. Plenty of climbing and the zip wire was outstanding.
Barton Hall in Torquay was a beautiful location, with great weather - will be looking to book again soon!
