False advertising and filthy accommodation

We paid nearly £1000 for a deluxe lodge at southview holiday park which didn’t compare to any of the advertised pictures on the website, the lodge/large caravan was disgusting with blood stained bedding in the twin bedroom, bodily fluid staines in the main double bedroom. Gap in the top of the oven which resulted in the place smelling of gas when trying to cook, extractor fan missing lights and filled with dirt/gunk so didn’t work properly meaning the fire alarm went off when cooking. The carpets were so dirty you couldn’t take your shoes off without your feet getting filthy. Took me 3 attempts to get the bedding changed which I had to do myself.
Workers working on the plot behind us with machinery and parking over our parking spaces which resulted in them leaving metal pieces on the floor that punctured our friends tyre. The manager refused to do anything for us other than change the bedding! Nearly £1000 for 4 nights!! I would recommended not staying at this site if you want to enjoy your holiday.

We booked a gold carvan

We booked a gold carvan , it was more like basic . Very dirty and the double bed bedding had marks on it . The carpets were mucky and the furniture was same and old . When you pay all that money for a carvan it should be like new . Never again

Booking was super easy

Booking was super easy. Plenty of accommodation options and easy to compare. Price was very reasonable and the additional discount for Wightlink ferries gave such a hefty discount (£64 return instead of £218!!!) the caravan has pretty much paid for itself. Very happy 😊. Now to see what it's like when we get there...fingers crossed we're just as happy 🤞.

We went to Parkdean Torquay it was awful booked a silver standard caravan no where near the standard we complained to reception to be told they don’t do gold silver and bronze standards anymore and it was based off size but are still advertised as gold silver bronze
Security are rude staff are ok but hardly any interaction with kids
Don’t waste your money go to haven it’s a lot better

We have holidayed with parkdean for 16 years and 14 at Looe Bay and have booked again for our 15th year on the same park we have got a good deal and had our book before you leave discount. It makes it affordable and the direct debit instalments help payments we cannot wait to be back at Looe Bay again next year its a special place my family and as a site has all you need and a great range of activities and friendly staff. There are a great range of caravans to suit all budgets and we like the silver version in polperro crescent as you are able to park by your caravan and the layout of those vans are great for the family

Don’t waste your money

Awful site, would not recommend spending money here at all!
All the caravans are crammed into a small space all on top of each other. The showers/toilets are disgustingly dirty and most of the time the showers are cold. The washing up area smells all the time of dirty water. Can’t do any activities as they are always booked up.
The food is so overpriced and not that great - best thing is probably the breakfast.
There are so many other great sites, do not waste your money!
The team are all as helpful as a chocolate teapot. Heard so many complaints when walking past reception I’m surprised they’re still in business.

I would mark a 0 if I could and I’m so disappointed due the fact that our first experience was outstanding, this time I couldn’t have been more disgusted and disappointed with the holiday £700 plus we ended up paying for 4 nights made to feel a trouble and annoying when we asked for our accommodation to be changed due to the layout not being practical for our disabled children I was told we can’t change the layout because you don’t like it! Don’t like it it wasn’t going to work for my children’s safety and sleep fast forward that got changed at a hearty price of £100 amendment fee ruining our first family holiday obviously I’ve complained not expecting anything but I will be making everyone aware of the disgrace of this place

Good value

We have been going to a Parkdean site for over 12 years as we have our own caravan and we enjoy going to see other places from time to time .knowing what good value the holidays are, how nice and comfortable the caravans are and the entertainment /facilities were very good in all the others we have stayed at or just visited .

Do not buy a caravan from Parkdean

Do not buy a caravan from Parkdean. It's a dreadful company to deal with, full of smarmy sales boys. We bought a static caravan in 2024 but due to severe disability we could no longer use it so had to sell. Parkdean had no interest in buying it back and said they would take a 15% seller's fee plus VAT off a sale even though they weren't involved in the sale. I'd call this daylight robbery. This did get overturned when my MP wrote to them after which they started grovelling saying they want to help us. We did eventually sell the caravan at a loss of over £40 ,000. Staff at Parkdean are only interested in you if you're buying, they couldn't care less if you're not. Also, we had to shop around as their suppliers charge much more for commodities/utilities such as insurance and draining down before site closure. They have absolutely no loyalty to owners, we were told this quite soon after purchase but found out how true that was. We sold with over 5 months site fees remaining which they refused to reimburse. Disgusting company.
