I purchased Persol Steve McQueen…

Appalling 'service' - do not buy from these scammers.
I purchased Persol Steve McQueen Limited editions from Otticanet.com
I was sent faulty glasses whereby the left arm continues to pop off every time I wear them, to the point I can longer wear them at all.
I wrote to Otticanet.com and explained the issue and sent them several photos.
Their solution was to offer to charge me for a replacement arm that I would have to fit myself.

Responding to Otticanet response dated 16/01/2025
The glasses sent to me were certainly not in perfectly good condition.
The glasses were also received in mid June not May.
I contacted you 1st Novemeber to advise the folding arm would pop off and as I explained, this got progressively worse to the point the glasses can no longer be worn.
The period of time was not 6 months, rather 4 1/2 months and well within a time frame a reasonable person would expect their new glasses to be free from the arms falling off.
You offered to charge me more money to send a replacement arm and then never sent the replacement arm despite having my address on file.

I suspect this company stock and supply factory seconds and not genuine glasses.

Avoid these scammers who now prove themselves to be liars as well.

After we saw the pictures, we offered to send a set of new arms for free under warranty. What we asked you was the shipping cost only.
Please note that shipping costs are not covered by warranty.

Please consider that you used your glasses for 6 months and we offered you new arms for free.

We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations.

I bought an item

I bought an item, I was asked to review their service afterward.
I reviewed it to 1 star, the reason for this being I would've had to go out of my way to see I would be charged import taxes and fees and it wasn't openly available without me actually actively checking to see if this was the case they appealed it with feedaty and my review was taken down.
All in all I was expecting to save almost $300 on an item but was instead forced to pay $250 in taxes and import fees.
Had I been informed of this from the get go, maybe when I was adding the item to the cart or maybe when I was checking out I ultimately would not have made the purchase through otticanet and purchased locally.
They instantly emailed me after my 2 star review (that I later changed to a single star due to this) begging me to change it back up.
And then after a few days I was informed my feedaty that the review would be taken down. In Italian mind you. Which I don't speak a word of mind you.
So I come to trust pilot where I can actually trust my review won't be taken down because of what seems like an allegiance between two Italian companies

"As of new laws, overseas merchants are obliged to apply GST (Goods and Services Tax) to purchases below A$1,000 adding a 10% charge on the total of the purchase. However, for any purchase above A$1,000, GST is not charged by the merchant but is collected by the Customs when the product arrives at the border."

Since the total amount of your order is higher than 1000,00 AUD, you did not pay the GST to us, but your country ​Customs is asking you to pay for the Customs duties.

Beware !!

Beware !!! Disappointed them sold luxury glasses in stock for immediately delivery but after make the payment threes days later said them don’t have the glasses in stock so asking me to wait between 30 to 35 days .
Ridiculous!! I have requested twice times full refund but unfortunately I still waiting to receive the confirmation of the refund initiation .
In a couple of days I will report this situation to my credit card supplier to iníciate an chargeback claim in case of be necessary.

Buyer Beware

I ordered glasses 2 days ago, only to be met with an email this morning saying they would ship in 40 business days. So they’re clearly not in stock and they’re still actively selling them on their website, as we speak. Very, very disappointing.

Amazing customer service

Amazing customer service! I ordered glasses from Switzerland. After placing my order, an agent recommended me smaller size glasses so it fits better on my cace and was able to very smoothly advise me on lenses etc… I didn’t expect that from an online shop also considering the price (half the price than in Switzerland basically). The service was better than in any shop here. The shipping was fast and very secure.

I have order glasses OliverPeoples originally been informed takes 20-25 days as not in stock. I have waited 25 days not even a single notification from them to notify me what happening till I have to chase up by myself and got replied I have to wait another 20-25 WORKING Days to get item I purchased, they said the item I purchased already in production that was since the day I purchased it’s gonna take 3 months to receive it worse part is I don’t even know when reached the second 25 days there’ll be another round like this again. Something like this is a big red flag, they’re either scamming customers to use their money first imagine one customer buying a $300 item what if it’s 5,000 customers experiencing the same that’s $1.5 Million cash free interest for them to use for couple moths and then deliver a counterfeit grade A product to customer, a refund also takes another month . If these not a scam what else could it be.
Someone please should report these activities to authority for this illegal activity as Australia too far away from them

Beware of the return process

I’m sure it’s fine unless you need to return something.
You need to pay for your own shipping. Make sure you get tracking or they won’t help you with your return!
And after one full month since they received it (not when I actually sent it back)- after multiple MULTIPLE requests and emails to get my refund. I was finally refunded today. What an ordeal!!

* I want to reply to their response. Paying for your own shipping can be in your policy, I’m pointing out it’s a huge negative. In addition my issue is putting the burden of ‘proof of return’ on the customer instead of processing it like a normal ethical company when it is received. There is nothing in your return policy that says you must keep your tracking, follow up constantly to check return status, or the return won’t be processed. That’s crazy! When something arrives at the return center, ethical companies process the return, and refund the customer. They do not typically keep the return then wait for the customer to reach out wondering where their refund is then tell the customer to prove it. Returns should happen regardless if someone misplaced the tracking or not! You found my return when I found my tracking- why didn’t you refund me when it arrived? Isn’t that how returns typically work? Everything was included in my return to process a refund upon arrival including the return number and brand new product in original everything. I panicked because I lost the photo of my tracking at first. Thank goodness I found it or your company would have just kept my money and the sunglasses even though I returned it and followed all the policies. Horrible and extremely unethical. I shop online daily and I would rate this as a HIGH RISK company to shop with. I want to add this entire process took almost 2 months of me sending several emails to get my return processed.

You guys are really funny and tell me to send the glasses back to you. Okay, then tell me how I should see in the time until you fix your own mistakes.
You and your company are simply an indictment.
You disguise everything in your favor so that the customer is left with your mistakes.
A wear and tear fault, my friend is certainly not someone who screws on so hard that cracks appear and the screws fall off after less than 7 days.
It can only be echoed whoever buys from you has already lost because I don't mention customs at all... what is not mentioned is the months-long wait to get a pair of designer glasses of Pazar quality.

You received your glasses in September 2023 and after one week you informed us that something was not good with one screw.
In order to fix your glasses quickly, we proposed you to send you a set of screws for your specific glasses, everything on our charge.

Since you were not happy with that solution, we agreed for the return of the glasses.

We have never heard you back since October 2023 and you have never returned your glasses.

In July 2024, you contacted us again informing us that your frame is broken. All our glasses have 2 years warranty for manufacturing defect, but in this case the damage is due to the use of the glasses. It is not a manufacturing defect.

We offered you assistance on this matter but you did not accept it, unfortunately.

We remain at your disposal.

As expected!

I've received my Maui Jim sunglasses in one week! I've saved 70$ on regular price in store. Honestly, I was a bit nervous because a didn't know that online store, but now I'm convinced that all the brands are original ones, brand new and in perfect condition. I highly recommend Otticanet!

Happy with my purchase

I received the glasses that I ordered all the way from IT to Saudi Arabia safely. Eventho it took some time to arrived but it was expected due to the long distance delivery. Received the item in very good condition. They really followed the prescription I provide perfectly and the most important is, it was an original glasses I can tell.
Kuddos to the customer service personnel named Arianna to keep on replying the emails I sent and answered all of the questions I asked.
