We completed on our house purchase a couple of weeks ago with the help of Dan and Peter at Newtons. Both guys were great to work with, they communicated really well with us returning emails quickly or calling us with updates. Really grateful for their help getting us our lovely home.

This was the second time we have used Howard and his team, Kerri & Harry from Newtons at Thirsk . We have so much time and respect for Howard, we actually spoke to him before we submitted our offer to confirm he would act on our behalf, because if he couldn’t accommodate us we would have withdrawn our interest and not submitted a offer, baring in mind we are actually 100 miles apart and could have chosen hundreds of solicitors closer to us, however, after previous dealings with Howard and Newtons there was only one solicitors for us.
This property was going to be a very complex and difficult to complete purchase on and we knew Howard would carry out the conveyance without causing us any stress and keep us informed every step of the way, as we expected, right from the first contact we had, all the way to the day we picked our keys up, our experience of the team was honestly exceptional, nothing was a problem, all our questions and concerns were answered immediately and clearly that I understood with a lovely friendly, caring attitude.
Never would I ever purchase a house again without going through Howard and Newtons, having several experiences with different solicitors over the years, by far this was the best experience by far. This is how solicitors should be, the personal interaction and communication takes one big part of the stress of buying a house away..
Finally the best part, the invoice, so right at the start I was given a quote for the work from Newtons, baring in mind this house was 200 years old, grade two listed, spring water, you name it, the problems were everywhere, but no stone was left unturned, so many letters and e mails went backwards and forwards and by true Howard and Newtons standards, the bill was what we had been quoted. I can’t say I expected anything else, like I said before, this is how it should be.

Well big thank you to the whole Newtons at Thirsk team, and should anybody read this and decide to get in touch with Howard, then should you be lucky enough to have Howard acting on your behalf, I guarantee you that you will also be another very happy client..you won’t be disappointed and that’s a fact.

As we haven't used a solicitor for 30 years we had to find a local company to handle the sale.

If you need professionalism, look no further. I have been very fortunate to deal with Jacqui Foley and Michael Prudhoe twice for conveyancing and have been extremely impressed. They make a superb team and I literally cannot fault them. Michael even came into work early requiring a legally binding phone call because I was in a different time zone. We recently purchased a bungalow, with the helpful services of Meryn Astwood and Abbi Brown from the Knaresborough branch of Newtons. Throughout, they were always ahead of the game and were able to quickly establish the true facts when the seller’s solicitor incorrectly suggested a hold-up on our side of the proceedings. And although the exchange was cancelled on more than one occasion, again due to issues on the seller’s side, we were kept fully informed of the situation. Well done!
