Money back from fraudulent event tickets
Fantastic website. Had so much useful advice which has been excellent. Had a company fraudulently sell me concert tickets and advised on Section 75 where I can can get the tickets and all travel expenses back. Thank you so much 😊

Its a free site and is very clear that there are affiliates and that people should do their due diligence first.
I have used MSE for many years and find it far better than other sites which are similar but its my money so I always check. They can't monitor every financial provider when its a non paid for service
Got a phone call!
Got a phone call!
Difficult filling in form as my address not on their list but had put in my phone number so within 5 minutes a call comes through to me flagged up as suspected scam. However the call was to help me to get a new energy deal as my current one was nearly finished.
Unbelievable experience. The guy asked what I was looking for and I of course confirmed I was looking for a competitive electricity only deal. He was full of himself and said he would provide me with a deal as he was an award winning adviser and I could give him a positive review when he gave me my new deal. I advised him the deal I was on and he calculated he total sum I would pay yearly and that it would save
me money and then quoted incorrectly what I was paying even though I knew he was wrong as I had my latest bill in front of me. When I managed to get the actually rate per kwh from him and the daily charge it was higher than I was paying and he maintained that was because his rate included VAT and mine did not but his rate in any case would still be more expensive but he kept saying he was correct and I was wrong even though I had the actual costs from my bill in front of me. I must admit that by this time I was winding up due to his stupidity and said as not understand basic mathematics and he was therefore westing my time I would end the cal. He didn't give up tough and still continued insisting he was an expert and knew best. I have since contacted my current supplier and although there is a modest increase they are still cheaper than the great price this idiot got for me. I must say the whole Power industry and the way it is governed is a joke. Problem is the joke is on us poor suffering consumers and the advice given by all the stupid so called experts on tv and in media can not be relied upon to be true. Happy hunting to all those who want to save a few quid. It might keep you out of mischief, like me.
Money saving expert.com now advice me the call was not from then. I had literally just obtained quotes online from them when the call to me came and the guy told me he was an award winning expert so I presume it was from money saving expert .com. So I apologize if this was just a coincidence. However the quotes I got from moneysaving expert.com which then became the cheap energy club were more expensive than my current deal and marginally more expensive than the new deal available from my current supplier. Hop this sets the record straight!

IT NEVER WORKS PROPERLY WHEN FILLING A FORM .
AGAIN! I WAS FILLING A FORM FOR CHEAP ENERGY,
& I COULDN'T FIND MY ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY,
& THERE'S NO WAY TO ADDED MANUALLY, IT HAPPENED BEFORE FEW TIMES, ON OTHER PRODUCTS, JUST A WEAST OF TIME . . .
Very useful indeed
I've never had a problem with them, and the forum and weekly emails are excellent.
EDF energy tariff I'm on wasn't in the drop down menu
Just tried to get an energy quote but the EDF tariff I moved to in March 2025 wasn't in the drop down menu, so I chose one of the others there and was then told there are no online deals availabe to show me. How bizarre!
MSE Cheap Energy Club & British Gas a sorry tale of incompetence
Switched using the MSE Cheap Energy Club recommendation for a fixed tarrif to British Gas back at the end of March, after spending much of my time making calls and writing emails to find out what was happening, not, I now find myself on the standard tarrif with BG and may decide to switch again as both the Cheap Energy Club and British Gas seem to be incompetent in their dealings with regard to the switch especially BG.
With the change in the price cap I may be paying less, who knows, but I am still trying to get BG to inform me of the unit cost and the standing charge for this current standard tarrif.
EDIT:
To reply from MSE, that particular March tarrif no longer exists.
As for any further assistance thanks but no thanks, you had your chances in April and May to help but what contact you may have had with BG they must have ignored it or it was lost in the ether, not surprising as their data online system is split into two platforms one for pre smart meters i.e. analogue meters and the other for smart meters and other digital services like mobile app usage etc..

ID mobile / Gift cloud vouchers b offers not being honoured
În August 2024 took out an offer through MSE for ID mobile that included a £35 Amazon or Curry’s voucher but haven't received anything. Have spent several months trying to resolve this with gift cloud and ID mobile. Both companies are completely useless and refusing to honour the offer. Please remove from the MSE website as it is a scam. My father did the same offer shortly after me and has also been told he is getting nothing.
Promises never kept
I changed my energy tariff through this website. I completed all the forms online including my bank details for payment for the new contract. 2 weeks still nothing. Chased them up several times. Nothing. They kept replying with "we will get back to you". Useless.

An article regarding wills and what…
An article regarding wills and what happens if the solicitors you took the will out with go close down. There is no back up, you loose your money unless you're happy to go to another firm of solicitors to sort it out. And unless you take out another will to override the first one, it could be out there somewhere.
Energy club not what it was.
Always look at the site and have benefitted from the advice given numerous times. I have, however, found that the energy club element is not to be trusted.
Am meticulous about entering my current deal, and find that the recommended deal quoting a £348 saving over 12 months is false. Took the time to do my own calculations, making the energy club a waste of time, and the saving would actually be £60 over 12 months, and a £100 leaving penalty for both gas and electricity!
Nothing More Than An Scam Affiliate Site
Let's be honest Money Saving Expert and Martin Lewis are nothing more than an simple 'affiliate' and looking at the reviews below they are giving out false information and expired offers.
In the majority of cases it's cheaper to contact the company direct and ask for current offers rather than clicking links on MSE and giving ML your money.
ME recommended BeFibre DONT get BEFIBRE
ME recommended BeFibre - How can you recommend a company that have no Parental Control?
I thought Internet Safety would be high on your priority list?
Fake offers
În September I had an offer through them for mobile that included Amazon voucher haven't received yet. In March I took another offer for energy theft include a voucher /cashback offer. I bet I won't get that either
Gas and electricity switching false information
I made an online request for a gas and electricity comparison quote and was offered a British Gas account. Figures of 24.45 kWh (electricity)and 6.35 kWh (gas) were quoted and I was told I would save over £65 per month on the recommended DDR to my current supplier Octopus. The person I spoke to told me the kWh figures I was currently paying were higher but when I checked my account I was in fact paying a cheaper rate than he was trying to get me to switch to. This is despite the fact I had supplied information about the rate I was currently paying to money saving expert. Had I not double checked, the switch would have ended up costing me an extra £292.08 per year on a 2 year contract, so another £584.16 in total!!! Plus if I wanted to extract myself from the contract with British Gas at any point it would cost a further £150 in exit fees!!! I’m now left wondering how many people have ended up being persuaded to switch by this company and actually ending up being even worse off than they already are!!! I thought this was a company I could trust but I will never use them again

Promised 70 £vouchers to take SKY…
Promised 70 £vouchers to take SKY broadband & phone no need to say that NEVER RECEIVED It and despite my efforts I got a case number and nothing happened, MSE hides behind a ghost company (if ever it exists) to waste your time. The UK is probably the only country in the world that allowed such a Farce to continue and make millions from it. Avoid it. Date of experience April /may 2024.
If I change my Tariff through your form…
If I change my Tariff through your form I will be charged £100 exit fee £50 Gas £50 for electric. When I go to my account on BS I can exit for free changing from one fixed tariff to another. Is this accurate?

Bad advice from martin Lewis
Took the advice of martin Lewis on my pension investment. Lost £150 in its value in first month. Cheers. May as well asked Rachel Reeves for advice. But I guess she would of took the money in tax instead
MSE leading customers to very poor suppliers
Ok so why is this “trusted” source and ML featuring companies such as Tomato Energy who have failed over a month to switch supply because of an issue they cant/dont bother to explain. This is the worst customer experience I gave ever, ever had and I was led there by MSE. I honestly did not expect this from what I believed was a reputable site and business
