MSE Compare+ Car Insurance tool - not responsive, difficult to use.
MSE have a car insurance comparison app. Have just spent over an hour filling this in. It did not recognise my password from the previous time and did not send a link to change it. All data lost so have to do this again. You cannot contact them. Is there anyone there? Who knows. What a waste of time.

I always clear my credit card every month. I recently used it to pay £6000 for part payment for a used car which I cleared on the due date. Now I am being refused credit as the £6000 is still showing on my credit score. I hope it will revert back to normal. This has never happened to me before even though I use my credit card for most purchases and have never had any outstanding balance past the due payment date. Quite shocked.

Dodgy Advice from Cheap Energy Club AVOID
Joined Cheap Energy Club as MSE has been a trusted consumer focused organisation for years. Recently received a note about moving to British Gas for an amazing deal so decided to switch. MSE we're aware of my current deal as the comparison quoted my existing tariff with EON next. Completed the switch on their adviceonly to be charged £100 exit fees. Complained and got a response from someone called the MONY group (ironically titled) stating it was my fault and I should have known. I'm now £100 out of pocket and on a more expensive tariff with EON next. What a waste of time, effort and money!
Unfortunately this company (Mony Group) continue to lie, at the time the comparison was listed MY CORRECT TARIFF WAS LISTED AND I WAS MISADVISED. Dreadful dreadful organisation AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

Money Saving Expert Forum
Money Saving Expert Forum was invaluable in helping me navigate my way through a dispute with a parking company. A week before my date in court, the case against me was 'thrown out'. Another scam parking fine has been beaten! It was stressful but worth it and I was guided by the advice in the forum throughout the whole process
Total harassement
Total harassement. Total BS. They keep calling and calling and calling, even when numbers are blocked. Should be stripped of any license to operate.
And if the below is true, then what are you doing to stop other organisations masquerading as you and wasting customers time (your comments show no interest in this matter)..

Great advice from MSE…
We are a couple in our early seventies with some pre existing medical conditions which are all well managed and had no travel insurance medical claims .
Despite this, looking directly at travel insurance charges the quotes were around £1500 for annual insurance and the cheapest was £950 but did not cover cruises.
Looked at the MSE site and it suggests we consider the best bank account packages and I am very glad we did.
We have Nationwide accounts and by upgrading to their flex plus account (£18 per month, £218 per year) we get travel insurance, vehicle breakdown insurance and mobile phone insurance cover. We did have to contact Aviva re our medical conditions and had to pay an additional £259 but compared to other quotes and the additional benefits it is less than half the cheapest quote.
We also switched over to outfox the market a year ago and again this saved us money, thank you moneysavingexpert.com
Avoid this comparison website!
Avoid this comparison website. I took out a contract which offered £60 voucher so that the contract ended up significantly cheaper in net cost but I haven't received my voucher after months. The voucher provided claimed that my contract wasn't tracked and MSE weren't able to do anything about it, as if consumers don't mind making the wrong choices.
Be very careful about moneysavingexpert energy club
Be very careful about moneysavingexpert energy club. The new marketing from MSM suggests that the combined power of MSM subscribers secures improved tariffs to that which you would secure on your own. I provided all the required information on the MSM site to compare the deal MSM offered with my existing annual energy fix. The conclusion was that MSM analysis said that I would save about £240 per year by switching to another provider. When I dug into the detail of the analysis, MSM used higher Kw/hr and higher standing charge than the tariff I am on (despite me providing my correct existing tarrif). The actual real comparison was that I would pay more by switching AND pay an exit fee of £50 to my existing provider. I'm surprised that Martin Lewis continues to endorse MSM.
Martin Lewis, get this website fixed!
Martin Lewis complains about scammers using his name, but then encourages people to use moneysavingexpert.com. The Cheap Energy Club run there doesn't work properly, the deals headlined in his newsletter just don't exist for many of us because it's faulty. Reaching out via email gets a stock reply without actually fixing the real problem. Nobody in charge gives a damn. The forums are full of unaddressed issues. All in all an underperforming company.
Awful Advice on Switching
Awful. Switched from my British Gas v96 deal to collectiveNov26 after using the MSE price comparison website. Told me it would be cheaper ‘and the cheapest fix since 2021’.
Turns out to be £12 a month more expensive.
Tried to cancel during the 14 day cooling off period. British Gas have cancelled my previous tariff and will only put me on the more expensive one or an even more expensive one. Way to go MSE. You’ve just pushed my bills up.
Best energy price blah blah
Made the effort to check the mega energy deal that MSE got and wasted my time comparing it to mine. Honestly, what a rip off! Thought this was a good guy website that truly looked after the consumers. Apart from the gas meter standing charge being about 11 pounds cheaper a year, it would have cost me a lot more money if I followed the advice without checking. Watch out!
Cheap energy club doesn't work for me
MSE were offering cheaper energy deals via their cheap energy club. I logged in to see if I could save on what I'm paying now, but it's such a glitchy site. I had to input separate details for gas and electricity as although they're with the same company, the fixes aren't the same. The site couldn't recognise this, and I ended going round in circles trying to switch. In the end I gave up as the amount I would have saved wasn't worth the hassle and uncertainty.
Please note this rating is for the Cheap energy club, not for MSE in general - some of their information can be very useful.
Not to be trusted
Terrible website. The advice forums are sat on by people with no lives that sneer with derision at anybody who dares to post a question in good faith. The snobbery is absolutely unbearable and it seems the moderators of these forums are either in or it, or just don't care.
The forum regulars really need to go out and get a life. It's beyond pathetic how they berate anybody - or more often than not just post pointless "well what I would have done is x,y, and z" captain hindsight drivel.
Avoid this website.
MSE used to be such a useful and…
MSE used to be such a useful and informative site a few years back. Just been on it now. Dismayed to find it to be a very lacklustre website and not as relevant as it used to be. Martin Lewis tends to state the obvious these days re all things financial. Maybe he needs to step down.
The best money website/comparison site.
This is my go to for all money help
outfox energy
Martin Lewis is recommending outfox energy. I have just phoned outfox around getting over charged and all he talked about was how martin lewis recommends them.
Does Martin Know.
If you switched tariffs in August with outfox energy you did not pay a exit fee this changed on the 1st September and you do get charged.
People who changed in August and should not have been charged exit fee have been charged. In my case £250. They will refund you if you call but this is not happening automatically. Scary
I bet there are thousands of customers who will get a bill shock in September.
No Way to update Account Password
MSE has a wealth of good, sensible information that I would like to use. However, I can't use the site because I need to reset my password for which MSE requires me to enter a code which it claims it has sent me. Unfortunately the code never arrives. Tried several times but always with the same result.
Contacted the 'MSE Team' for a solution. I received the standard 'holding' email "We've got your email and will get fixing it ASAP". No further response after several days so sent another request with the same result. The site is full of other ways to contact but none relevant to me and so I'm effectively locked out of the site by what should be a standard industry fix that just about all other sites manage to achieve in no time at all.
Since I have no way to make 'real and effective' contact with MSE, thought I'd see if MSE monitors arguably one of the most influential customer feedback apps available in the hope that I might get a resolution of my issue?
Not holding my breath - but - go on MSE - surprise me!
Robert
UPDATE 1 of 2 - fair play to the MSE Team - they have surprised me by getting in touch. Am looking forward to a resolution of this problem and will update you on progress.
Robert
UPDATE 2 of 2 - Problem resolved - thank you Beth - MSE Team. It seems that if you need to reset your account password (which presumes that you already have an account!) don't follow the process for resetting. You should click the 'Create an Account' tab which will then deliver you the code for confirmation.
Ok - it's a solution albeit a counter-intuitive one so thanks MSE but is there any chance of fixing the password reset mechanism?
Hope this helps
Robert

false information …
Signed up to a new energy contract based on his reviews, entered my usage for the year, cracking deal far cheaper than others, only to find out the deal I was offered was not true, and a heafty fee to cancel the contract, this is the second time now that I have been scamed by his false information, shame on you, won't listen to him again

Wrong FX on website when linking to bank website
For collection Travel money site only shows M&S for FX - also rate shown is not carried over to M&S website!!
Old without renewable abilities
SIM only mobile review
Whilst the premise is good and definitely worth a look. The small problem is repeat business. Every offering is new customers only. Assuming like me not a new customer it is an expensive site. Multiple cheaper offers in UK on same networks
