Usually great but recent bad experience
Usually Medicash is brilliant…easy to submit claims and paid quickly. However I’ve just had a very disappointing experience with a claim submitted for an MRI scan, where, as I was referred by my physio for the scan instead of a doctor as it was needed urgently, it’s gone down under physiotherapy rather than specialist treatments, meaning I was paid less and have now used up my physio allowance for the whole year. An MRI scan is clearly not physiotherapy so I was very disappointed by this decision.

When tests like this are requested by someone other than a GP or Specialist Consultant, we will always look to see whether they can be covered under another relevant benefit category. In this instance, as the test was requested by a physiotherapist, it was considered under the Complementary Therapies benefit.
This is how the plan currently provides cover for these tests but we will pass on your feedback for future consideration.

They'll give you a policy if they think you won't claim
I was denied a policy because they said that when I used it a few years ago I used them too much. Note, I didn't abuse the system, I used what I was entitled to, and this they have a problem with. So what they're saying is, buy a policy from us and if you don't use it and we can make a huge profit from you, you can join. If you want to look after your health and we will only make a small profit from you, you're out. Very disappointing but at least there are a lot of competitors out there.

Terrible experience
my company stared using Medicash this year, where i'm supposed to claim back excess from private medical insurance. Every time I submit a claim, they decline it, even though I provide all the relevant documents. Last straw was claiming the excess from private medical insurance bill - I followed exactly what the app told me to upload, only then for it to be declined.. so I had to call them back and email them another and completely difference document. I will not be frustrated from chasing my claims, but I will recommend my company to stop using them.
