About The University of Law

Written by the company

With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds.

We are the largest provider of legal education, with more law students choosing us than any other UK university in 2023 (HESA 2022/23). What really sets us apart is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement. That's why we keep our contact hours high and our teaching groups small.

All of our courses – from our undergraduate law degrees to our diverse range of business courses and postgraduate programmes – are designed with a unique, varied and innovative learning approach proven to deliver self-reliant professionals who can compete in the fast changing professional world.

Our track record of excellence in learning and development has helped us establish worldwide connections within the legal and business industries. We provide legal training for 90 of the top 100 law firms in the UK and exclusively deliver SQE training for over 65 leading UK and US law firms.

More than 400 of our lecturers are qualified lawyers and business professionals, and all have extensive practical experience which they are able to pass on to our students. We facilitate this process with high levels of student-to-lecturer contact time and small class sizes - one of the reasons that many firms insist their trainees study with us.

We focus exclusively on practice-based training and give students access to our expert Careers and Employability service database as soon as they accept a place with us. Students also benefit from our pioneering and award-winning pro bono programmes, which allow them to gain valuable work experience by helping real clients from the local community.

We were ranked in the top 10 for our quality of teaching across UK universities in the NSS 2024 (7th in England) and in the Office for Students (OfS) Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023, we were awarded an overall Silver rating, with a Gold rating for Student Experience and Silver rating for the Student Outcomes.

Our Postgraduate Employment Promise

Just waste of time and money absolutely Fethitic experience...

I was at the end of visa process and when i apply for visa and was about at the end of my visa process, they send me email that we have withdraw your cas and you are not eligible for, and you have to withdraw your visa application. I paid for my visa fees and take priority service also which cost of to approximately 1000 pound, I lost that money, the university said that we will help you to return these money with your tuition fees but all in vain, nothing happen, i lost the money and most important i wasted about 6 months on submitting application and prepare for other process. I find it very Fethitic way pf treating students like that and i am totally unsatisfied with the university and admission team. I was depressed and unhappy with this behavior. Absolutely nonsense. At the end my experience was not so good.. Just waste of time and money.......

My ULAW experience so far

I am currently a second year student at the Bloomsbury campus and I have had a good experience so far. All the lecturers and staff members are lovely and and explain things clearly. I have also benefited from the small class sizes in both lectures and workshops because that makes them more interactive and engaging, so I can ask questions easily.

Another thing I really like about ULAW is their willingness to accept and take in feedback from students. There are many opportunities to provide feedback either in surveys or other ways, and I have seen so many positive changes and implementations as a result.

Was a nice venue however…

We did not have a live orchestra as the other grad ceremonies hosted by ULaw(felt like not enough effort was put in maybe because we were the last ceremony but that shouldn’t have been the case). Also a physical book would have been a nicer touch than an online version of the graduation ceremony.

Reply from The University of Law

Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us. We’re truly sorry to hear that your ceremony didn’t feel quite as special as it should have and we appreciate you letting us know how you felt.

Although our orchestra was booked to perform at your ceremony, unfortunately they were unable to attend the event on the day. We completely understand how disappointing this must have been and sincerely apologise for any perceived negative feelings this may have caused. Please rest assured that your ceremony was planned with the same care and attention as the others.

As part of our wider commitment to sustainability, we have recently moved to a digital brochure. That said, we completely understand the appeal of a printed keepsake and we’ve shared your suggestion with our team so it can be thoughtfully considered internally.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback, we really appreciate it and we look forward to staying connected through our Alumni Network.
