Unable to cancel accidental reservation
Accidentally made a reservation for a wrong month with a non-refundable rate. Tried cancelling through a "goodwill" request on the same day with the expected booking being a month ahead. Got a standard negative response.
Hands off Hotelopia
The booked hotel never received the reservation from Hotelopia. I had to pay the hotel again and am still waiting for a refund to this day. Customer service sucks and doesn't respond to phone calls or email. For me that means very clearly - hands off Hotelopia

Do not book with this company
The train strikes meant that we couldn’t get to London at the time of our stay. We called Hotelopia to change our booking or cancel it. We were told that we couldn’t get a refund as the deadline for refund had been missed. We did not cancel our rooms with hotelopia. We called the hotel in London and they said we no longer have the rooms as Hotelopia have cancelled it. We called Hotelopia to ask why they did that they said “ you have cancelled yourself and we have the recording”. We are taking this to the Ombudsman. They are dismissive, unhelpful. Not only have we lost our rooms but we have lost our money too.

Tried to make changes, no response
I have booked a hotel, through Hotelopia, for my honeymoon and have been trying to make some changes. The hotel can't make the changes and the 1-800 number that Hotelopia provides does not work.
I've sent two emails and it has been a week without a response.
I really feel stuck and have resorted to this forum to see if I can get some assistance.
Be very cautious when dealing with this broker.
Update: October 21, 2022: Hotelopia contacted me via email and made the requested changes. Not sure why it took a week to respond, but they got completed and all is good.

Good prices, needs work on mobile!
I recently booked a trip to Amsterdam on hotelopia. I found the prices really good versus other websites. The site itself is a bit difficult to work on a mobile, but I persevered to get the hotel and price I wanted. Will definitely use again.

Very positive experience
I can confirm that I booked a hotel last 3 days in London and it worked out perfectly. I was afraid about the reviews here but I was more than happy in the end.
Also I wrote to customer support to check if payment was successful, since it was not removed from my bank account for a couple of days. And I can say I got the answer the same day.
I was quite nervous at the beginning, bad reviews and plus the payment didn't go through, I was really adraid it was some type of a scam but now that it is over I can say I had a really positive experience.

Beware of bait and switch
Found a good deal for an upcoming trip on Hotelopia. When I went to book, however, I got an error message. Picking the same room, but at a higher rate, would have gone through fine though.
Avoid!

Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible, there were tons of misleading information on their website.
I was looking for accommodation for my upcoming holiday on Trivago and I was directed to Hotelopia when I saw they had the best prices. That should have tipped me off. I made a booking for The Row NYC and only AFTER I entered my credit card details and paid, was I told that there was an additional $200+ USD in taxes that I was charged for. This was never reflected in the final price which is completely unethical and misleading.
So I decided to check if there was a cancellation policy, and I saw something called “Flexible Refund”, and within the next few minutes, I went ahead to cancel the booking because read that I would not be charged for any cancellation. Little did I realise that not being charged for cancellation under this “Flexible Refund” policy, did not mean that I would get a refund at all! At the end of the process, I was not charged for cancellation, but I was told that I would be refunded nothing!
The whole process has been entirely frustrating. I have written in to Hotelopia explaining the situation and requesting for a refund, but no one has replied me at all despite me following up 3 times since. I completely don’t know what to do and I have no other conclusion than Hotelopia is a scam and people should be warned not to engage their services.
In the meantime I have reached out to my bank to try and cancel the transaction but I’m not sure if that’s something they are able to do in time.
Would give 0 stars if there was the option. Stay away from them!
Edit: Hotelopia finally replied (a month later) after multiple emails to them, Trivago and Hotelbeds. It was a Trivago staff who helped me to reach out to Hotelopia twice before I got a reply from them and they eventually processed the refund.
I would suggest that Hotelopia be more transparent in their pricing in the future and also look into improving their customer service response times.

Terrible
Terrible. Paid for a 3 night stay in London as a treat for my sister and autistic nephew. However the superior studio I had booked with city views was a windowless room.. Hotel hadn't received the information as to what I had booked. Desperately trying to get a refund but initial email not answered.

In February 2022 booked accommodation in Ireland for August. Just been notified that due to an error, the booking was not confirmed and is now cancelled. I understand no booking was ever made with the owner of the accommodation and that other people have turned up to find they haven't got a booking. All very suspicious.

claimed cash back three years ago and they still refuse to answer requests. If this is the level of service that is demonstrated I would suggest that they are not worthy of anyone's business. Avoid. 2 Days after this review Topcashback sent me an ex gratia payment because of my frustratingly long wait. The company have reached out to me today but it is too late I am afraid.

A positive cancellation experience
Reading the reviews I became very nervous when needing to request a refund for a cancelled trip. My experience was a good one with no complaints. I cancelled online, called the customer service line to make sure everything was in order and received a full refund 2 days later.

This Hotel organizer is simply the worst! We already booked and payed our hotel and now they told us that they did a mistake and our hotel isn't available anymore..... I send already 3 emails no response! No alternative offer nothing! This page is really a FRAUD please don't book here because maybe they gonna leave you without a hotel reservation!
This is a SCAM
This is a SCAM. I went on Trivago and was directed to this site saying they had partnered up with Trivago. Booked a room and gave my credit card info then a message popped up saying the hotel could was not responding to my request. I tried phonong the number on the screen and it is OUT OF SERVICE. Later I got an email from my credit card company saying there was a possible FRAUD ALERT so I called them and sure enough, this Hotelopia had tried to put the payment through but it was declined by my credit card company. Now I hve to be hyper aware if they try again.
HOTELOPIA - GOOD OR BAD
Would like to write something good about "Hotelopia" to prove people wrong. I have been waiting 10 days for a refund from them, Have asked when will I receive it. But have had no replies to emails I have sent them. SO COME ON HOTELOPIA PROVE PEOPLE WRONG
BEWARE IF UK!! Unable to contact them!!
Attempted to book a hotel in london, provided my card details and had a pop up saying that the hotel was not responding to my request and due to this they cannot confirm if the reservation has been completed and to call their customer service desk but this is an international number and would cost a fortune. So given they have my card details and I don’t know if I have a reservation or not I emailed them in October. It’s now December and I’ve not had a response!! Luckily the booking isn’t until June but I need to know if I have a reservation or not incase I’m charged despite not going! Awful customer service
This is scum.
I found this site at Trivago. This is scum. I booked our hotels because it was the cheapest but there were the hidden fees and charges and ended up way more expensive than other large travel sites. Trivago should get rid of this site.
Steer well clear!!
Steer well clear!!
They sold me a hotel, which I paid for.
They then retracted it by saying they had made a mistake with the price.
I was very unhappy
Poor service will never book AGAIN
Poor service will never book AGAIN, always better directe, even its more expensive !!
