I found it incredibly easy to navigate HastingsDirect website for my motor insurance. Excellent service and I will highly recommend.

When I received my email renewal reminder from Hastings Direct the message included the following assurance. 'Be assured we will not be offering a cheaper premium to new business customers'.
The exact wording might have been a little different but the substance of the message was the same.
My renewal premium was c. £120 more expensive than the previous year. (Despite the fact that I had made no claims and my circumstances hadn't changed).
Of course I am sure that Hastings insurance wouldn't offer this assurance if it wasn't entirely accurate...would they?
I visited a couple of comparison websites to be sure. And; you guessed it; both comparison websites offered me a Hastings car insurance policy £100 less than the policy offered by Hastings direct.
Describing Hastings insurance renewal reminder as flagrantly misleading might be considered a little harsh.

Very straight forward, had car breakdown included and saved me around £60. Every thing is on line when you download their app.

What an absolute sham Hastings direct is. I have just spent two days all afternoon on each day trying to get my complaint sorted and all I get is been passed around to different departments this has happened for two days running. I was misinformed right at the beginning and was told that an accident that happened that wasn’t my fault. I wasn’t even there even though I saw it happened because my car was right outside my house claiming Would not affect my no claims as their legal team could recover the money from the cricket club whose cricket ball hit the windscreen of my car and then I get an email saying they put my premium up by £288 and this is even before they fixed my car. My next move is to go to the ombudsman. But firstly, I need to get a copy of the transcript of my original call where they told me this would not affect my premiums. I’m allowed to do that. Absolutely awful awful service.

Rang and got a quote for our 2 cars after doing a quote online. Happy with the price so I was then put through to have a quote for home insurance. Very helpful and again happy with the price. I didn't give a 5 star as when I checked details once I received documents online for car insurance our surname was spelt incorrectly.

As usual no reward for loyalty as price went up at renewal time and I got a much cheaper quote elsewhere unfortunately Hastings love their auto renew so even though I messaged 1 hour after it auto renewed to say I didn’t want to I got the pleasure of having to pay them £20 for admin fee! Out of principle this would put me off ever using again
