Two cabin filters and two oil filters ordered at ostensibly sensible prices. Unfortunately, when I went to collect a day after I was informed they were there, the cabin filters were the wrong ones a... See more

Halfords provide the worst customer…
Halfords provide the worst customer service i have ever experienced. All staff have been so dismissive, refuse to speak to you on the phone and fail to fulfil their promises. I've waited 3 weeks for an online order and the only time I received parts of my order was because I chased.
Staff are not sympathetic or apologetic
Online purchase returned but no sign of refund after two phone calls.
I bought an item online but it wasn't a suitable gift, so returned through the post. I have proof that it was delivered to Halford two days after I posted it. More than a month later, I hadn't received a refund. I phoned up to check what had happened and was told I would receive a refund in 5-7 days. This time passed without a refund. I called again and was told that the agent had incorrectly logged that I had rejected the item when it was delivered, but Halfords had proof that it was delivered - so no refund was given. I received no correspondence from Halfords that this had happened and only found out when I chased again. I'm now waiting to see if the refund turns up this time, but I've been told I may have to provide proof of the item being returned - which makes me feel like I'm not trusted. All in all a pretty terrible customer experience and I'm not confident of this being resolved any time soon.

Phone the lads in Oban and they booked me in straight away . Had a knocking at the front of my car and sensor lights on….took it in and they could not have been more helpful…in garage at approx 9am and car returned in good order at 11am… thats a good service
Order was placed for next day delivery…
Order was placed for next day delivery and paid for. It wasn't even despatched on the expected delivery day nevermind delivered which meant an alternative had to be sourced at £100. What was more annoying though was the customer service who, while polite, kept me waiting 10 minutes on the phone while he wrote up case notes then told me I would receive a response within 5 to 7 business days! What a joke. Nothing else they could do other than suggest I bought another, collect in store then refuse delivery of the original item if and when it turned up. At that point, I would be refunded once it was received back in the warehouse?? Are they for real? This is the second time its happened. Halfrauds lives on.
Micheal in kirkaldy halfords …
Micheal in kirkaldy halfords gave us a great service eith my kia proceed he was very polite very very helpful and provided a great service he should be recognised for great customer service as i have been here previously and did not recieve a good service from another employee so hats off to micheal great job and many thanks
Terrible communication
I had an appointment for a tyre replacement at home, scheduled for 'between 8:00am and 8:00pm'. I was inundated with reminders by sms and email. On the day, I received an SMS saying that Halfords had tried to contact me, without success. After two long calls to the overseas call centre, it transpired that the mobile mechanic was not available to work that day, and that the message -- about having contacted me -- was an error. My call log showed that no one had phoned me. This made the experience chaotic and stressful.
Shocking customer service
I purchased premier membership - the levels of customer service are unacceptable - whilst on a call to complain they cut me off and provided a survey - there is no way to complain?
mobile tyre repair fraud
I had booked a mobile tyre repair. Have been given a time window when to expect the repair to happen but got called hours earlier, then again during the right time frame for being told my tyre couldn’t be repaired and needed replacement. No one ever showed up to assess the tyre, and when I called the customer service asking for a refund I have been told that they could only refund the service but not the call out. For an attendance that never happened and a repair never done, I paid £58 simply because I refused to pay for a new tyre. I had to resort to another contractor who showed up in less than 1h and repaired a perfectly repairable tyre. Halfords are an absolute fraud.
Why can't I call the store up directly?
The actual technicians and staff are really great. But why each store doesn't have a phone number I don't know. Spent 10 minutes with a central call centre who refused to give me a number, called the shop themselves and when the number wasn't answered gave me a case number.. really frustrating.
Halfords: Poor and Nonchalant Customer Service
I have found that staff at Halfords often display a rather nonchalant attitude toward customer service.
Today I visited the Eastleigh branch to purchase a number plate board for my bicycle. I had my photo's, paperwork etc.
I was initially directed upstairs and was then sent back downstairs. The upstairs staff informed me that the staff there would assist me, (and they would in the interim inform them of my requirements).
Once downstairs, I spoke to a member of staff who said she did not know how to help and used her earpiece to call a colleague for assistance. He/she opted to respond via the earpiece, (instead of coming to speak to me in person), and provided the incorrect information: 'That I needed to purchase a new number plate and insert it into the board'.
However, I had come in to order the board itself, as I did not already have one. This was not understood by 3 different staff members, and I left without the assistance I needed.
This unfortunately isnt the only store where I have found this type of poor and frustrating customer service.

Needed new lights for my car and was an easy process with helpful staff but a bit pricey
Stay away at all cost absolutely hopeless
Went to halfords and asked if they could test a e bike battery as its not charging whitch there website states they do the assistant that was behind the counter very helpful he did try his best.
The technician that wasn't there only on a phone that the other gentleman called him is another story said because I didn't buy the bike from them they not even look at it full stop. This bike is halfords own make e bike the carrera range and they are supposed to service and repair any bike
The technician is as much use as a chocolate fire guard absolutely hopeless (am being nice as its a review) what's the point of this shop i always have problems either stock not in or staff are useless dont know what there talking about very poor training by the senior managers and when you ask to speak to a manager there is none to be seen or you stood waiting ages so you give up and leave don't use this company it's absolutely a joke
its a shocking process if you need help…
its a shocking process if you need help for an online order. we choose to cancel our order and ask for a full refund within 30 minutes of placing the order. 2 hours spent ringing up being passed from department to department. no end of forego call centres putting us on hold saying we have to speak to the store in order process your refund - however the call centre staff cannot get through to the store so they won't cancel and refund our order. I cannot express how bad Halfords customer service is. its is beyond disgraceful.
Quoted £100, fixed for £7 elsewhere.
However, another garage fixed the issue for £7 with no sensor replacement needed. This caused me time off work and unnecessary stress. I am very disappointed with the service and would like this matter to be investigated.
This issue only occurred after the tyre fitting at Halfords Bolton Autocentre.
We went to Halfords in Peterborough…
We went to Halfords in Peterborough today to purchase 2 bikes for our 4 year old twins birthdays. I am unable to do stairs but the lift was out of order. The lady at the till pointed out the obvious in that it was out of order. I pointed out that that was not good to me at that time. Instead of trying to find a work around she just said 'thats not my fault'. I just said they had lost a sale and walked out. I am disgusted with the customer service. Surely they should have considered what they could have done to keep the sale instead of pointing out that it is not their fault.
I booked an appointment online to have…
I booked an appointment online to have a car bulb changed. My card was debited, but I immediately received an email stating there was a problem with the booking and advising me to contact the store by phone.
I called the number provided and had to give all of my transaction details, as there was no record of the booking on their system. While this was being investigated, I received a text saying my order was ready to collect in store. I specifically chose Halfords to avoid this exact situation, as I wanted the assurance that I could arrive at an allocated time and have the bulb changed there and then.
I called again and was told they would try to contact the store but were unable to do so. I was then advised I would hear back within 24 hours, which was not helpful as I needed the bulb changed that day. I therefore requested a refund and was told that I would have to go into store to obtain a refund for a product or service I had not received.
Despite requesting a refund, this was not processed. I had to get back in touch for a third time, at which point I was informed that an investigation was being opened. As a consumer, if I request a refund for a service that has not been provided, I should receive it without delay, not be subjected to an investigation, as this goes against my consumer rights.
Overall, this was a very frustrating and prohibitive experience. Rather than offering solutions, the process seemed to create additional problems at every stage. I still have no resolution and no confirmation that I will receive my money back. As a result, I will not be shopping with Halfords again.
A really disappointing experience
A really disappointing experience. We attended the Lowestoft store to purchase a bicycle for our son’s birthday. On the Sunday we visited, there were lots of staff present at the bike services counter who were all standing around chatting about fishing and their plans for their days off. Not one member of staff approached to ask if we needed help etc. This should have been enough to put us off but our son was so excited to get a bike for his birthday that we persisted and eventually interrupted the staff’s chit-chat to ask for help.
We purchased a bicycle which needed to be ordered in and chose to have the bike built in-store at a cost of £10. The young man serving us wanted to ensure we committed to a date (in 10 days’ time) to come into store and collect the bike. We agreed on a date and were told we’d receive an email to confirm that the bike was ready for collection.
The date came and no email arrived. I attempted to phone the store to check whether the bike was ready for collection and was put through to a call centre. I simply wanted confirmation that the bike was ready to collect before my husband took a detour on his commute home from work to collect it. The customer service advisor told me she couldn’t provide me with this information despite me giving her the order number, customer number, date of purchase, model etc and that she would only speak to my husband as the order was in his name. My husband called and was told the bike was indeed ready for collection, despite no email being received as previously advised.
My husband then went to the store to be told by the staff member that they couldn’t find the bike and didn’t believe it to be in stock. My husband repeated the conversation he’d had with the customer service advisor and eventually they went to check again (this took 25 minutes). Eventually, after an awful lot of faff and waiting around, my husband left the store with the bike.
Terrible customer service. Will never purchase from Halfords again.
Generally bad Autoservice across…
Generally bad Autoservice across multiple branches I've visited in the UK.
You're drawn in by brand name, premium membership and apparent benefits, discounts and sales.
What they don't say is they would find the tiniest fault (if not cause one) and make you see it as an essential/major fault that needs urgent repair. It's a marketing gimmick at best if not considered an outright scam.
You're better off paying an apparently initially more expensive quality local garage straight up to avoid pains, delays ,tears and double payments.
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs, ordered tyres based on their recommendation after entering registration number, guy turned up and refused to fit them because they weren't the same, even though they suggested them. The whole ordeal cost me a £40 call out fee. Requested a call back from a manager to discuss this, so far I've waited 3 weeks!
Total amateurs
Bought road angel dashcam from Halfords Greyhound Park Chester, including fitting. Total chaos on arrival for fitting. Booked in for two hours, turned up 2.5 hours later still not finished. When done went away but dashcam recording all the time even at night when car parked. Transpires they wired it incorrectly and it cost me £100 to have it put right by someone who knows what they’re doing.
Never go back there
