We are very sorry that your snowman lantern arrived damaged. Although we try to give our products the best protection by packaging them with bubble wrap unfortunately sometimes fragile items such as this do get broken during transport with the courier company. Thank you for returning this item to us. I can confirm that your payment has been refunded in full back in to your PayPal account which you paid with. You will be able to view this by logging in to your account.

Disgusted and disappointed!

Disgusted and disappointed at Gordon Riggs Rochdale. I purchased a pack of “Big Cheese, Ultra Power” vermin tablets which was priced at £11.99. I purchased exactly the same product from Middleton M24 for £7. How can they justify such a price variation. Are all their prices marked up in the same way?

We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your experience shopping at our Rochdale branch. I have passed this review over to our buyer to look in to and discuss with our suppliers. We regularly conduct market research to ensure that we remain competitive when compared to other similar establishments. We certainly haven't stayed in business for nearly 8o years by taking advantage of our customers. We don't know how Middleton M24 are able to sell the Big cheese ultra power vermin tablets for £7 however we will be looking in to this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Great Garden store that supports the local community well. The plants are good quality. However I bought a pair of town and country gardening gloves for £14.99 from them recently and they fell apert after two gardening sessions. Not gordon riggs fault, just that manufacturing sometimes lets us down. When sometimes we could make them better ourselves.

A good garden centre but….

A good garden centre but…Not sure when “ put your dog in a trolly or carry” came into force? last time we brought the dogs probs in jan they walked! I didn’t notice any signs stating this either, You’ve instantly discriminated against anyone with a bigger dog or who is unable to lift their dog into a trolly, I won’t be visiting again plenty of other places to go where you dog is welcome to walk

We are sorry to hear that our dog policy has upset you. I can confirm that we do allow dogs in the garden centre as long as they are either carried or pushed around in one of our trolleys with the exception of guide dogs who are of course permitted to walk around the centre. We can provide a mat at our customer service desk for the base of the trolley to protect little paws and water bowls can be found at the entrance. Our dog policy has been the same for several years now. The reason behind our policy is that we sell a huge variety of real and artificial plants in store and understandably dogs find it difficult to distinguish between an outside area where they are allowed to go to the toilet and our centre where it is clearly not appropriate for them to go to the toilet. We have had numerous instances where dogs have gone to the toilet both on plants and on carpeted and grassed areas. This create several issues including the obvious mess and hygiene issues however one of our main concerns is that we do not believe it is fair to expect customers to have to handle and/or purchase plants which unbeknown to them have been urinate on. Being in a trolley removes the risk of dogs going to the toilet within our centre. We have many customers who bring their dogs in in trolleys and it is our experience that the dogs who visit us do find it to be an enjoyable experience. We regularly post pictures of dogs in trolleys enjoying their visit on our Facebook page. We hope this explains our position and has not deterred you from visiting us again in the future as we truly value each and every customer.
