Just had my review from my horrendous experience in November 2025 removed again for the second time! Apparently because I named employees, however, read through the positive reviews that name employees and low and behold they are allowed! Any excuse to remove a poor review from a very badly operated firm. Lincoln branch. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

From start to finish Alana was on hand every step of the way. Emails, calls, she answered everything; all our questions and worries and made us feel at ease. Gilson Gray was recommended to us by our mortgage broker and I am so glad they did. 5 + stars for the whole team. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. Couldn't fault Alana or Gilson Gray. Thank you so much for everything. We are now in our new home and settling in well.

Alan always responded to my questions just about immediately. No matter how many, how complicated or how "stupid" they were.
Without ever actually seeing the faces of the people that worked with and for me, I felt well accompanied, always treated friendly and respectfully. Everything was explained thoroughly and my worries were listened to and dealt with.

Alan was great with me and my partner, he really put his time and effort into making sure we were kept up to date with everything, especially with any changes that happened. with being first time buyers, the information given was confusing as it was new to us both, but alan always made sure we understood with it all

Started off very positive with updates and forms sent to me on a timely manner but as time went on and time became more pressurised and I needed answers promptly towards the final stages, I felt I was met with quite often vague responses and not all my questions answered. Completely understandable if I had, “let me find that out for you, I will get back to you as soon as possible” but quite often I had unanswered questions on emails and calls. I had to chase for updates towards the end too and often got communicated with others first and felt the last to know about some things via my solicitor. I ended up getting in contact with my buyer and seller in the chain which made things feel so much easier having the communication as I managed to give answers and get answers but there shouldn’t be a need for this. It seemed as though everyone in the chain was feeling similar from their own solicitors at other branches. My family also felt the same when they were contacted, they didn’t feel that their questions were fully answered or enquired about. I think that little bit more care of ensuring all questions are answered or found out in good time would be great and less vague reposes and need for chasing. Overall, I would use the solicitor again if I purchased a property using this solicitor at the estate agent but I would hope that I would have better communication throughout than this time around. I also was given less money back as initially indicated that I would receive and this wasn’t communicated until I contacted to raise a query with this.

5 Stars, this was the 2nd time using Gilson Gray, first time was buying and now selling. My first point of contact was Imogen who was great, took my details and friendly through out and provided me with a great quote. Then Alana took over the conveyancing side of things once I had accepted an offer, Alana was constantly in contact, there were a few delays due to the buyer not getting their mortgage offer quickly and then after it offered with an issue with the bank but I was always kept up to date constantly by Alana so didn't feel nervous at all

Jehnnaie was a pleasure to deal with throughout the whole process. It was really smooth from start to finish. The communication was great would highly recommend

Rachel Greig who went all the way with us through out our sojourn to the property purchase was amazing. She picked her call at the first instance whenever we called. She gave us well deserved explanation both verbally and via mails when ever we asked. She was polite and ptofessional in her approach. Was recommended them through miller home. When they phoned up the woman clearly stated that because they worked closely with Miller they would be able to offer it at a discount. Well I almost proceed but on a whim went onto a conveyancing comparison site and I was given another quote by Gilson Grey but this one was £600 cheaper. These people will say anything to get your money so I wouldn’t trust them

I was initially sceptical of using an “in House“ conveyancer nominated by my estate agent but the whole experience has been extremely good,efficient and friendly. Very poor communication throughout the whole house buying process. No updates and phones left unanswered.

Hugely underwhelming service from Gilson-Grey. 8½ months to complete a private, chain-free sale.
The same question kept being asked of the seller's solicitor without any explanation of why their response was unsatisfactory.
Never reachable by phone. Had to chase through every step of the process, and if I hadn't, I don't believe we would have completed by now.
Complaints not listened to.
Cashback from the mortgage company not forwarded on to us (still chasing).
I felt "stuck" with Gilson-Grey. Had it been any other service, I would have cancelled long before the job was complete.
