About Account Verification

Verification in eToro will take approximately up to 5 business days if all the required documents are submitted.

During this time our teams will be going over the details and documents that have been submitted to make sure we verify your account according to the latest regulatory requirements.

Should we require any further information, we will be sending you an email to the registered email address with the required additions. These might include any issues with the documents submitted like a lack of details, or a problem with the eligibility of the document.

On Deposits at eToro

Deposits on eToro are divided into instant payment methods and ones that might take longer like a Bank Transfer.

Instant payments like Credit Card, e-wallets and others will appear immediately on your eToro account.

Other methods might take several business days to arrive depending on the payment provider chosen. When sending a Bank Transfer, please make sure to take the bank details from the eToro platform according to the chosen currency.

It is of the utmost importance to include the unique Transaction ID to allow eToro to efficiently recognize the transfer and credit your investing account.

Key points on Withdrawals at eToro

Withdrawals at eToro have a flat fee of $5 USD. *Except in the USA where we do NOT charge a withdrawal fee.

A withdrawal in eToro has 2 stages. Once received, the request to withdraw will be processed by our teams within 2 business days.

Following the processing, a withdrawal will take an additional 3-8 business days until the funds arrive to the used method of payment.

It is important to note that this time period depends entirely on the payment service provider.

Emails will be sent at both stages confirming the request was received, that the withdrawal has been processed and to which method of payment it was withdrawn.

All about Trading/Market Disruptions

Trading disruptions are situations in which markets cease to function regularly, usually defined by fast and extensive movements in the market. There is no one specific reason for this - they can derive from unusual trading (such as a crash or a pump) or physical threats to the stock market.

No matter what the case is, trading disruptions are a result of the unusual conditions in the market, which can cause panic and disruptions to trading.

Why you might not be able to open or close a position during a market disruption

  1. Lack of liquidity, or inability to receive pricing from our liquidity providers
  2. A stock might be halted by the exchange
  3. Inability to open SELL positions due to an asset being “unborrowable”
  4. An unborrowable asset is an asset that won’t be lent out to short-sellers, which might happen when there is no one willing to lend out the asset.
  5. On eToro, the SELL side is not available when the asset is unborrowable.

  6. Extreme volatility on different asset types.

In general, when an asset is not available during halting periods, set order rates that are triggered (Stop Loss, Take Profit) during the halt will be executed on the next available executable rate when trading resumes.

I used the platform for a few months…

I used the platform for a few months with no issues at all. I provided them all the documents they required for me to trade and as of today they blocked my account with no reasons at all and now have no access.

I would not recommend this company at all, use a better trusted platform.

Good for copy trade but expensive fees

Salam guys. eToro is just okay broker for me, nothing crazy. The best part is copy trading because I can follow big investors and make some passive income inshallah. The platform app is also very clean and safe, no scams here. But why everything must be in USD?? Every time I deposit Saudi Riyals from my card, the conversion fee takes too much money. And when you want your cash back, they charge 5 dollars flat fee every time. Spreads on gold and crypto also a bit wide. So 3 stars only. Good if you want to copy someone and forget it, but too expensive for active trading here in KSA.

No integrity

funds and spent an entire week meticulously setting up my account, completing every step correctly and verifying my identity in full. After all of that, I was then told my account was restricted due to verification — the very thing I had just completed.

What followed was nearly two days of back-and-forth, handing over every possible proof they asked for. Two weeks passed with absolutely nothing resolved. No clear answers, no progress, just silence and incompetence.

When I had finally had enough and was ready to escalate, they refunded my money without any explanation whatsoever. Then, out of nowhere, they informed me they were closing my account. I asked for a valid reason. They responded a month later — again with no reason.

Weeks of my time. Weeks of effort. Gone. For absolutely nothing.

The support team operates like they have never read a single document in their lives. There is no accountability, no professionalism, and no respect for the customer’s time or money. This platform had the audacity to waste my time at every turn and then disappear without so much as a coherent explanation.

I will never return. If you value your time, your money, and your sanity — look elsewhere. There are far better platforms that actually want your business and know how to treat customers with basic dignity.

Avoid at all costs.

Avoid.

Awful. Taken 6 weeks to transfer ISA from Tembo (because eToro didn't send on the paperwork). Then the idiots dealt with it as cash rather than as cash ISA, losing me my year's allocation. Now in a battle to get it sorted. Wish I hadn't bothered.

It's become hard to trust my money to etoro for the following reason:

It has now become hard to trust my money to Etoro. For the second time today, I place an order, then the order gets frozen, I cannot access it, set a take-profit, stop loss or cancel it. And for the second time, it takes the technical and support team more than 4 hours to fix that issue. After nearly 5 hours of stress today, they fixed it by cancelling the whole order; I could have gained good money from that trade. The previous trade, I ordered an asset then I wanted to cancel that order because I saw the price of that asset moving against my forecast and it was better to invest that money in another asset. I couldn't cancel that order and my money got frozen in that order for more than 4 hours until they fixed that issue. The market moved up and down in the meantime, I could have taken other trades with that money and gained some money. A customer service supervisor contacted me after I escalated the issue the first time and she said they will do their best to prevent that from happening again. Well, it happened again today. Based on that experience, I don't see etoro as good for professional traders. It's hard to trust a platform that all of a sudden freezes your money in an order because of a glitch that takes hours to fix. Trading is about fractions of a second, imagine a glitch taking hours to fix. Imagine if you are investing a big amount and it gets frozen for hours in an order that you couldn't access, change the parameters of, or cancel. I have evidence of all the above-mentioned incidents

It was bad enough that I had to pay to…

It was bad enough that I had to pay to speak to customer services. This was due to eToro blocking my account for no reason. Anyway I signed up to eToro club for £49.99 and I had 7 days to cancel. I cancelled this on the 7th day - in line with eToro cancellation policy. However eToro then tried to take money£49.99 3 days later. If that wasn’t bad enough they then attempted again 2 days later. So twice after cancelling eToro illegally tried to take £49.99. I say illegally because the subscription was cancelled and the amount not authorised. I have an outstanding complaint with the ombudsman and I have shown them these transactions also. An absolute disgrace
The usual eToro response and my response and resolution will be via the financial ombudsman who are investigating this - eToro never take responsibility for problems and I am sure will blame some technical issues as is the go to for eToro excuses

CopyTraders have hidden fees- but great UI and community.

I am updating this review as eToro has compensated me for the below issue. However, I hope they can improve the mechanics of their copytrader system in the future and make the consequences, in terms of fees, clearer if you keep open positions after stopping a copy.

When you stop copying an investor and choose “keep positions open,” eToro gives almost no meaningful warning about what can happen if the copied trader holds many tiny positions.

In my case, a copy portfolio worth around $1,500 turned into hundreds of fragmented manual positions, many under $2 each. Because eToro charges a flat $1 closing fee per position, some positions now effectively carry 50–60%+ closing costs. Closing an $1.50 position for a $1 fee is absurd and I inherited 100s of these tiny positions in TSM, Palantir and Nvidia etc.

This is not made remotely clear during the stop-copy process, and I strongly believe many users would never knowingly agree to this outcome.

What makes this even more upsetting is that I am investing not just for myself, but for my young son’s future as well. I work hard for this money, and seeing huge percentages effectively wiped out by a fee structure that was never properly explained feels deeply unfair.

The customer support experience has been equally disappointing. I received one support call from someone in a noisy room who barely understood the issue. My account manager twice said he would “raise it with management” or “the relevant department,” but weeks later there has been no meaningful response, no solution, and no accountability.

The whole experience has seriously damaged my trust in the platform.

Copy trading is marketed as beginner-friendly, but this particular mechanism feels incredibly misleading and potentially very costly for ordinary users.

A platform handling retail investors’ money should not rely on hidden technicalities and silence when problems arise. I will make sure I can warn as many people as possible to help others not fall prey to such greed and underhand tactics.
