About Account Verification

Verification in eToro will take approximately up to 5 business days if all the required documents are submitted.

During this time our teams will be going over the details and documents that have been submitted to make sure we verify your account according to the latest regulatory requirements.

Should we require any further information, we will be sending you an email to the registered email address with the required additions. These might include any issues with the documents submitted like a lack of details, or a problem with the eligibility of the document.

These are regulatory obligations from eToro as a regulated financial institution.

On Deposits at eToro

Deposits on eToro are divided into instant payment methods and ones that might take longer like a Bank Transfer.

Instant payments like Credit Card, e-wallets and others will appear immediately on your eToro account.

Other methods might take several business days to arrive depending on the payment provider chosen. When sending a Bank Transfer, please make sure to take the bank details from the eToro platform according to the chosen currency.

It is of the utmost importance to include the unique Transaction ID to allow eToro to efficiently recognize the transfer and credit your investing account.

Caution - 3rd party payments are prohibited. eToro will ONLY accept payments done from a method of payment under the eToro account owner’s name.

Key points on Withdrawals at eToro

Withdrawals at eToro have a flat fee of $5 USD. *Except in the USA where we do NOT charge a withdrawal fee.

A withdrawal in eToro has 2 stages. Once received, the request to withdraw will be processed by our teams within 2 business days.

Following the processing, a withdrawal will take an additional 3-8 business days until the funds arrive to the used method of payment.

It is important to note that this time period depends entirely on the payment service provider.

Emails will be sent at both stages confirming the request was received, that the withdrawal has been processed and to which method of payment it was withdrawn.

All about Trading/Market Disruptions

Trading disruptions are situations in which markets cease to function regularly, usually defined by fast and extensive movements in the market. There is no one specific reason for this - they can derive from unusual trading (such as a crash or a pump) or physical threats to the stock market.

No matter what the case is, trading disruptions are a result of the unusual conditions in the market, which can cause panic and disruptions to trading.

Why you might not be able to open or close a position during a market disruption

  1. Lack of liquidity, or inability to receive pricing from our liquidity providers
  2. A stock might be halted by the exchange
  3. Inability to open SELL positions due to an asset being “unborrowable”
  4. An unborrowable asset is an asset that won’t be lent out to short-sellers, which might happen when there is no one willing to lend out the asset.
  5. On eToro, the SELL side is not available when the asset is unborrowable.

  6. Extreme volatility on different asset types.

In general, when an asset is not available during halting periods, set order rates that are triggered (Stop Loss, Take Profit) during the halt will be executed on the next available executable rate when trading resumes.

Avoid! Run! Etoro is Terrible!

I found out that etoro portfolios are separate legal entities. So transferring money between isa account to a normal shares & stocks account takes many working days. The user interface is bad, the time delay for depositing and removing money is worse. Fees are high! Do not recommend them!

There are many other providers that provide better service! Avoid Etoro at all cost!

Promised my funds would be released on the 5th as my account was closed.
Funds have still not been released, the Fca cant help because its btc which etoro know.
I have started going down the path of legal action, absolutely appalled by the way they deal with everything.
Im dealing with Liza who keeps saying she has escalated everything, but it doesnt make sense as the account was due to be closed the 5th after a 3 day closure process.
Im still waiting for my funds.

Great app to invest

Etoro managers are very supporting. They help you through all questions and guide you so that you can make the best of your investments.
They also organice social events so we can exchange information amongst investors and participate in informative and educative sessions.

Trusted

Trusted, but not top-tier. I have been a member of eToro since 2012 because of its social trading feature, it's one of the oldest brokers I have used. I learned a lot here, and I am thankful for the role it played in my journey to becoming a better trader.

Deposits and withdrawals are not very convenient for me from Malaysia, I was able to use PayPal and card payments in the past, but now I am limited to wire transfers. The trading conditions are not very convincing. It's commission-free, but the spreads have plenty of room for improvement, and it does not offer overnight trading. Overall, I consider it an average broker for CFDs and stocks.

Put £500 into SPX500 and the shared…

Put £500 into SPX500 and the shared jumped up massively, work up to a notification saying I was £250 up, looked on thr app and they had liquidated my shares put the money back in my wallet and I never got the £250, moved over to Hargreaves Lansdown now

Platinum Member locked out for a week - technical support very slow

I am a Platinum Club member on eToro and have been completely locked out of the iPad app for over a week due to a critical authentication bug (the screen goes completely blank/white when attempting to log in).
This lack of platform reliability is completely unacceptable

NOTE: The issue started when trying to search for symbols within the search bar of the app and a white blank screen would appear, tried to delete the app, reinstall it and then couldn't log in anymore

UI reliability is 0

UI reliability is 0, closing multiple positions with the ui showing high enough profit to not fear any millisecond change but somehow every single time the profit was chopped or in the red, those were unleveraged positions mind you,
Between the hidden fees and and their scummy trade UI, I can confidently say that they are the worst around

I used the platform for a few months…

I used the platform for a few months with no issues at all. I provided them all the documents they required for me to trade and as of today they blocked my account with no reasons at all and now have no access.

I would not recommend this company at all, use a better trusted platform.

Good for copy trade but expensive fees

Salam guys. eToro is just okay broker for me, nothing crazy. The best part is copy trading because I can follow big investors and make some passive income inshallah. The platform app is also very clean and safe, no scams here. But why everything must be in USD?? Every time I deposit Saudi Riyals from my card, the conversion fee takes too much money. And when you want your cash back, they charge 5 dollars flat fee every time. Spreads on gold and crypto also a bit wide. So 3 stars only. Good if you want to copy someone and forget it, but too expensive for active trading here in KSA.
