Beautiful large property overlooking the Helford River. Superbly equipped and perfect for a family holiday. Georgie and her team were excellent with any requests and advice on the area.

We had the privilege of staying at Somer’s Place for New Year. It is absolutely stunning!!! The attention of detail to each room and the small finishing touches are too many to mention. We had a small dog with us who thoroughly enjoyed her week as did we all. The property is within walking distance of two beaches and St Ives itself, if you can drag yourself away! The house has so so much to offer, from the cinema room, to the gym, hot tub, sauna etc..etc… and the views from it are out of this world.
We have stayed at a number of Cornish Gems properties and find the service and experience impeccable. The properties are always as extraordinary as they describe and this one is exceptional.
I would highly recommend staying here to anyone. It is a fabulous home and we are so grateful we had the opportunity to spend New Year at it.

Disappointing Experience with Cornish Gems as a Holiday Let Owner
As a holiday let owner, I entrusted two of my apartments to Cornish Gems, expecting a professional service and consistent results based on their promises. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations, and I feel it’s important to share my honest feedback to help other property owners make an informed decision.
From the outset, Cornish Gems assured me they could achieve high occupancy rates and manage my properties efficiently. However, the occupancy levels they achieved were lower than I had anticipated, and the overall performance of my listings left me questioning their ability to deliver on their promises.
One of the challenges I faced was communication with their team, particularly the reservations manager, Nico Descotes. I found it difficult to resolve issues through him, as responses were often slow, and I didn’t feel that my concerns were being addressed in a proactive or constructive way. This added unnecessary stress and frustration to the process.
Additionally, interactions with the company’s management team, including Michelle and Sarah, left me feeling unsupported. While they were polite, their approach to problem-solving didn’t instil confidence, and I was left feeling that my properties were not being prioritised as I had hoped.
As a property owner, I rely on a holiday let agency to manage bookings effectively, maintain clear communication, and deliver a service that supports my investment. Unfortunately, Cornish Gems didn’t meet my expectations in these areas. While they may work well for some, my experience was underwhelming, and I have decided to explore alternative agencies that might better align with my needs.
This review is based on my personal experience, and I hope it helps other holiday let owners make a well-informed decision when choosing a management company. If you do choose to work with Cornish Gems, I would recommend having clear discussions about expectations and ensuring a thorough understanding of how your properties will be managed.
We were looking for a stay in a converted engine house in Cornwall and found one that met all of our needs through Cornish Gems. It was so easy to book it on-line and we received first class service from them. When we arrived at the property (Killifreth Stamps) in Chacewater, it was outstanding and was exactly as described on the website. We would have no hesitation in recommending both Cornish Gems and the property

Have on a number of occasions stayed at similar properties but the one via Cornish gems was over priced in my view by 50%
Also advertised as having hot tub, with hot tub symbol which was misleading, to then find it was a roll top bath outside the house .. not quite the same thing
The on arrival gifts were a bit lacking
So overall not as high quality as portrayed on my trip

We stayed in a gorgeous one bed property in Moushole. It was perfect for the two of us and our dog. The views were stunning and the village idyllic.

Advertised for a discounted rate of £3100 due to late availability I called and booked 6 nights due to needing to be back on the Saturday. Whilst there plans changed and we could stay for the full night. To add the last night back on CG applied a charge which took the cost to £3360. It’s not equitable and I’m not sure that it is compliant with trading standards.

I have stayed with Cornish gems once before and have an upcoming holiday in 2025. The property I stayed at before called the beach barn in Newquay was immaculate and we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday. There was an issue with our upcoming booking, which upset me significantly, and it meant that our holiday might not be able to happen. However, Cornish gems made some arrangements which has enabled us to now go on the holiday. The understanding, passion, and care shown by Nico at Cornish gems was second to none. Superior customer service like this does not come around often, and I will certainly be booking with Cornish gems year after year. Thank you so much

Menydh Cottage St Ives Review
Great location. Perfect for a couple. Short walk into town and beaches. Clean and well appointed. Comfortable king size bed and sofa. Good kitchen but no basics like spare bin liners or salt and pepper or tea bags etc which would have been nice touches. The main downside is the size of the sink in the bathroom which is barely big enough to wash your hands in let alone do your teeth/ wash your face in. The shower is good though with good water pressure but the bathroom is very cramped. The little terrace is nice to have. It’s tricky to find and the welcome instructions just give a pin on the map with no further details which was frustrating at the start.

Review of Little Springs, Penrose, Cornwall
Cornish Gems were very helpful in clarifying certain questions and provided a high quality of Service.
Little Springs is located in a small central village in this area south of Padstow, with narrow roads that need to be driven with care.
The house is very comfortable and well fitted out, with a few items needing minor maintenance attention. Small fridge/freezer in kitchen, but much larger one in hut outside.
WIFI signal is non-existent at times which is irritating. This was mentioned by the Agents but is such an important link for a modern family that it really did annoy us all.
The main complaint was in regard to parking. What was stated as parking for 2 cars needs to be modified to being for 2 small cars. The road is narrow here and neighbours opposite have ‘helpfully’ placed large stones at the roadside, thus making our manoeuvring very difficult. The position of the steps up to the house level further reduces the space, meaning that our cars were protruding into the road.
The car charger worked fine after initial set up problems due to the poor WIFI signal outside.

First time booking through Cornish Gems and they were genuinely superb. Managed the whole process seamlessly. From initial booking, regular email communications and reminders to downloadable guidebooks for your specific property, everything was superb. We had a minor issue with the EV charge-point at our property but it was fixed the same day as we reported the problem. The agent I spoke to (Nico), was extremely helpful in sorting it out together with the owner of the property. I’d definitely recommend Cornish Gems and will certainly be booking with them again in future.

We have had two amazing weeks with Cornish Gems in July 2024, the first at The Barrels, the second at Molesworth Manor to celebrate a special birthday. Cannot say enough good things about both properties and the service provided by Cornish Gems. At Molesworth Manor we booked a private chef @kitdavies. He cooked a delicious meal and we would highly recommend his services. It was our fourth stay at The Barrels, the views and facilities are even more fabulous than the photographs shown. Molesworth Manor is exactly as advertised, and the decor is stunning. Would tell anyone considering booking either property to just go for it, you will not be disappointed!

We had an absolutely fabulous week at Jackdaws. The house is set in a perfect location, offering fantastic views from the upstairs lounge. We thoroughly enjoyed walking to Padstow and Harlyn Beach. The house itself is beautifully decorated to a high standard, with comfortable beds that ensured a good night's sleep. The children particularly loved the hot tub and sauna, making full use of these wonderful amenities. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. We can't wait to come back!

We stayed at jackdaws for a week. It’s set in a beautiful location with stunning views of the sea from the upstairs lounge. The house itself is beautiful and the beds are extremely comfortable. We made use of the sauna and hot tub which is in amongst a beautifully landscaped garden. Trevone is a perfect location, the house is a 5 minute walk from a lovely beach and trendy beach cafe/bar. Overall we felt extremely rested and re-cooperated after our visit and can’t wait for our next one!!

Our stay at SeaShell was simply amazing. Seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of London, we found exactly what we needed here. The views are 10 out of 10, and the apartment is in immaculate condition. Enjoying breakfast on the porch with a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean was truly delightful. The location is fantastic—close to the sea with plenty of coastal walks nearby, and just a few minutes from Sainsbury's! Highly recommend and we'll be visiting again soon!

We had a fabulous stay at Midwinter. The property was immaculate and so spacious for my partner and the dog. The layout was brilliant and we liked being that little bit remote from the main Cambourne town. We were out in the country, but we were only 2 miles from the shops by car or 1.6 miles from the great Trevaski Farmshop, which is well worth a visit as they do a great lunch and the meat from the butchers is great along with the fresh picked fruit.
We will definitely return to Cornwall and do a different part and will use Cornish Gems again.

We had the most gorgeous stay at Water’s Edge in St Ives. The most beautiful and convenient location. Absolutely loved beach watching from the windows in the evening. Would recommend to anyone! The property was immaculate and had a beautifully curated and well stocked kitchen with everything you could need. We hope to be back some day!

Trevanion in Coverack. The cottage had everything you could possibly need, great kitchen, very comfortable beds, lovely tiered garden and fabulous views from every window.
Coverack is lovely good places to eat, great beach, we won’t hesitate to return asap.
Cornish Gems have been brilliant from our initial booking to the end very helpful and provide you with plenty of information for your stay, i would certainly recommend them.
