My son had a very disappointing SAT prep experience for the money. The tutor was from Princeton, which was impressive, but she was very robotic and there was no connection. It was also very hard having the interaction be over Skype. I don't think they did a great job matching him up with the right tutor.

Excellent College Application Support

Excellent Support. Worth every penny spent. Our senior was appropriately matched with a peer college advisor with whom they trusted to assist with review and brainstorming the voluminous amount of college essays. While we already had the college list prepared when signed up, College Vine supplied valuable input and insight throughout the process. While a daunting process especially for the highly selective schools, College Vine’s support in easing the pain and anxiety of the application process for both student and parents was superb. Our child was admitted to their first choice Ivy League school. College Vine helped highlight strengths to present in the best light possible. We recommend College Vine without hesitation. Wish we had found them sooner.

Best Investment My Family Made

CollegeVine has unequivocally been the best investment my family has made. Both of my children have been enrolled in CollegeVine's Mentorship, SAT and Applications Programs. Everyone we've encountered at this organization has been a joy to work with. Our children's mentors and consultants were extremely strong writers and able to assist my kids with getting their thoughts onto paper in a compelling way. The difference between CollegeVine and other local consultants we interviewed is CollegeVine's data platform. We loved their data tools and the other consultants we talked to didn't seem to have anything as sophisticated. Both of my children were ultimately accepted to top-ranked schools with generous financial aid packages we were not expecting. We can't thank CollegeVine enough for the tremendous support.

Extremely misleading, disappointing experience

Extremely misleading, disappointing and limited perspectives when reading my essays. Advice on what to do to boost my application as well as what schools to apply to was not beneficial and gave me false impressions. Furthermore, they share all of my information to every consultant and client, which I need them to stop.

CollegeVine helped my daughter navigate…

CollegeVine helped my daughter navigate the college application process. They kept her on track and had weekly meeting with her. As a parent, I couldn't ask for anything more. She applied to 27 universities and she definitely could not have done it on her own. Her coaches were extremely knowledgeable, understanding, encouraging and patient. Thank you CollegeVine for all that you do!

Really not worth the money

Really not worth the money. But more importantly it was a very poor experience. For two different colleges we spent considerable time drafting and refining essays. Only when we logged on to apply to the schools did we find that the essays prompts provided to us by CollegeVine turned out to be wrong. The time was wasted. They did a poor job of helping to refine our college choices and didn't seem to understand engineering at all. All in all, I spent a great deal of money and didn't get anything like the service that was promised. Find another advisor.

Well worth it...

College Vine has been so incredibly helpful in navigating the college application process. My son related to his peer mentors in a way he would not have been able to with an adult. They were highly intelligent and had exceptional writing skills, and they provided incredible assistance with college choices, the overall application and the essay. I am happy to say that my son has two amazing Early Action offers and I can truly credit College Vine in helping us get there.

Great essay writing support

My son attended a public high school with minimal college essay writing support. He wanted to go to a top tier university and he wanted advice on how best to tackle the essays. CollegeVine provided a very bright young woman very close to his age that was recently accepted and was attending an ivy league school. She provided the guidance he needed to craft essays that he felt good about submitting. She assisted him by reviewing the full application prior to submitting. He was accepted to several of his top schools and is currently attending UC Berkeley.

I have recommended College Vine to…

I have recommended College Vine to several people. I am a high school teacher and so many of my students need this service. College Vine guided my daughter through the process of developing a leadership extra-curricular activity. They offered countless salient suggestions on our path to get her college ready. There is no down-side to College Vine. Also, they cost substantially less than other college adviser services. This organization has been a God-send.

A year ago I trusted my daughter

A year ago, my 17-year-old daughter stepped in front of the TV and said: "Dad, I want to hire a consultant." She then proceeded to present a formulated justification for her request. At the end I told her "Yes." She then asked what portion of her presentation was most persuasive. I replied: "The moment when my 17 year old asked if she could hire a consultant." I am thrilled I trusted my daughter. CollegeVine is an essential resource in today's university application process. CollegeVine tailored a strategy that meets my daughter's needs. Frequent meetings and countless electronic communications have helped my daughter build her list, prepare her essays, and submitted well-constructed applications. Even as she begins receiving acceptance letters, the work with the CollegeVine counsellors continues and will do so up until the May 1st National College Decision Day. I can without reservation state that CollegeVine is a high return investment in my daughter's future.

CollegeVine has provided our son and…

CollegeVine has provided our son and daughter with outstanding advice and assistance. Our son applied to 12 colleges, most of which were highly selective and the CollegeVine team kept him on track and on task. The advice provided by his near peer mentor regarding organizing and completing the Common App helped him to craft a comprehensive and cohesive story that then coordinated nicely with his essays. The essay review and editing was on point and he developed a great relationship with the mentor. Our daughter is currently utilizing the SAT tutoring service as well and we are confident that this will have an impact on her ultimate scores.
