Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 67 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many consumers experienced severe vehicle faults, electrical issues, and mechanical breakdowns shortly after taking delivery of their new cars. Furthermore, customers frequently reported that support staff were unhelpful, difficult to reach, and consistently used delaying tactics regarding repairs. Though some customers noted that certain models are fantastic cars and an absolute joy to drive when working properly. Reviewers also praised specific staff members, such as sales executives, for being friendly, polite, and very informative during dealership visits. A few people mentioned that local garages tried assisting with problems despite broader corporate communication failures.

2020 Berlingo all servicing done by Citreon dealer all genuine parts. Camshaft chain broken 118,000 miles no help from Citreon customer don’t care at all. Camshaft chain is clearly faulty as it’s been replaced with a 8mm chain now as opposed to the 7mm chain which was clearly not fit for purpose. Customer care has been awfull no goodwill at all on a part they know is faulty .

Blacklisted at Tate's of Crawley

I complained in march about poor service, having to rectify the fault myself and gave the dealership 1star this being Tate's of Crawley.
Today I contacted them to arrange a service and MOT as I have a pre payment plan with them.
Having purchased from them for the past 26 years I was surprised to be told that I had been blacklisted by the director from all of Tate's dealerships and to go elsewhere. I explained that I have a pre payment plan and again was told to go elsewhere.
Luckily Abby Citroen at Redhill were very helpful and booked me in.
When I asked the service person I was told it's because I gave them 1 star previously and therefore they lose money

Reported to Citroen the issues with the Adblue tanks on our fleet of Berlingo vans. 5 of our vans have had to have the ad blue tanks replaced - one of the vans which is a 2020 plate has had to have 2 tanks replaced. Citroen refuse to acknowledge that there is a clear manufacturing issue with the ad blue tanks. They fixed 2 vans in warranty, but anything out of warranty they would not compensate at all and wouldn't offer a goodwill gesture either those our repair costs for the adblue tanks on our vans costs near 10K. We will be renewing our fleet of vans soon and we will NOT be purchasing Citroen ever again!!!!

Is Citroen Customer Service based in UK....I have just spent an agonising 35 minutes trying to communicate with the agent Alex....Not his fault as English was obviously not his first language, although Alex insisted he was based in the UK.
This the third time I have had to contact Citroen recently and same communication language problems...

Diabolical products and customer care…

Diabolical products and customer care bought a relay new in 2020 4 days out of warranty and 7000 miles on the 4th of November 2023the engine failed and was unrepairable checked in with my local dealership and were helpful and willing to price up repairs but due to their workload unable to carry out works until end of jan early Feb 2024 I couldn’t be off work that long so opted for a independent garage who could source and fit a reconditioned engine much earlier
So rang customer services for Citroen uk to inform them of what had happened and see if they were willing to contribute anything to my repairs being so close to warranty ending told basically no as you have went to a independent garage etc then I explained I couldn’t wait 2-3 month for vehicle to be back on the road the lady I spoke to was sympathetic to my reasoning why I couldn’t wait that long and told me to call back when vehicle fixed and I have invoices for works carried out
Vehicle fixed at the cost of nearly £8000
so rang back as requested in previous call with them the lady I was dealing with was on annual leave but a note had been put on her desk to contact myself upon her return this was late December 23 no contact came so I rang back on march 11th 24 to ask why I had not been contacted to which the answer your case was closed we will need to open a new one could you plz send all repair invoices and service record with invoices which I did my vehicle has been serviced every 10-12 thousand miles which is a lot more than the 32000 mile intervals they advise at Citroen as my experience has taught me there’s zero chance of getting 32000 miles between service intervals timing belt and associated sundries were all replaced 2000 miles earlier than there recommendations also
I was told once my paperwork was sent in a extensive investigation would take place 3 days later got a call nothing we can do it’s out of warranty also during the time my vehicle was being repaired found out by chance it had a active recall on it which Citroen honoured but recieved no correspondence regarding this and if I hadn’t found out by chance I wouldn’t of known asked Citroen twice what the recall was for still awaiting a reply would never buy a Citroen again this is my second one and it’s been costly that’s my fault tho as bought a Citroen new in 2005 and that was crap also needed full new wiring harness fitted at 36 thousand which I was told then wasn’t covered

The Citroen customer care dept of…

The Citroen customer care dept of Citroen UK is falling apart, either because Citroen have gave them no authority to do anything that costs money to help customers warranty claims or is having financial problems.unsure which it is.i have a one year old Ami off the road because of a warranty fix on the known failure of rubber compression ring at top of suspension front strut.they know it's a failure point but here's the thing any Citroen dealer in central Scotland can't see it and fix it till 27th may 2024.its is booked in to one.thats 3 months nearly off the road with no car till south street Glasgow Citroen can even see my car.and with no courtesy car forth coming and the sheer abandonment of me by Citroen UK ,surely the warranty on a Citroen vehicle is completely useless.how are folk getting to work with no car.some jobs depend on a car.3 month without a fix is unacceptable when the ombudsman body that covers them says 3 weeks is acceptable not 3 months.problem here is stellantis thinks it's a fast food joint, shut a few dealers here and there and the rest take up the slack.that doesn't work with cars and I would recommend folks stay clear of stellantis brand as it's a monster who just has no folk answering the phones and actually dealing with customers complaints.the phone you tommorrow ruse seems to be in the Citroen phone script.so avoid Citroen.it is an hour fix but a 3 month wait and counting and that is completely unacceptable.

Bought a Berlingo Van from Stellantis a Citroen main dealer in Salford Manchester, 10 miles on the clock,
pre registered, covered 6800 miles in 9 months.
Took it into the dealership because of a engine warning light.
They diagnosed it as having a problem with the DPF
( Diesel Particle Filter )
They informed me that the DPF would have to be replaced at at cost of £1800.00 and this part was not under warranty.
They said because we had only covered a small amount of mileage and that we hadn't driven the van
for the purpose it was built they would not cover it under the warranty.

Be aware of buying a Citroen Diesel

Be aware of buying a Citroen Diesel. My small business where i am a director bought a pre registered berlingo from Stellantis Manchester in July 23 with 10 miles on the clock. Since then we have drove 6800 miles and we are still under warranty. The DPF filter needs replacing at the cost of £1800. What they don't tell you when you buy the van is that according to the Warranty department you have to drive a certain amount of miles and we was told we should blast it down the motorway for 25 miles once a month. This is no where to be seen in the warranty terms and conditions. This is the 3rd Berlingo we have had, wont be buying another.

We have received an appalling service…

We have received an appalling service from Citroen. One our three Citroen NEW C4-e-C4 Sense Electric w cars driven by our Assistant Operations Director who is responsible for monitoring and the wellbeing of over 90 vulnerable adults, stopped charging on 7th December 2023 and after making enquiries the first repair date offered to us was 13th February 2024 at the Brentford centre (9 weeks waiting time) where we leased our cars from. In line with the Citroen complaints procedure, we wrote on 21st December 2023 outlining the issues we had and outlining how essential the car was for our Assistant Director to support vulnerable adults on an on-call basis.
We received an automated response advising us that Citroen aimed to respond to our query within 5 working days. We heard nothing back and sent a follow up communication on 16th January 2024. We received a response on following day advising us that we would need to direct our complaint to the dealership concerned (Brentford Centre). The complaint was submitted once again via the hub to the West London dealership Brentford on 8th January 2024, following which we received an automated message advising us that a member of the team would be in touch shortly. Nine weeks later we are still awaiting a response despite escalating our complaint to the CEO of Stellantis.
The treatment this firm received is appalling and we consider Citroen Stellantis to be inefficient and lacking in effective communication with its customers now. We have paid for the lease of the car during the period that it has been unusable and we are still waiting to hear from them about our dilemma.

Waste of time....…

Travelled 1 hour to Citroen dealership with intention of purchasing a new Dispatch van. They couldn't do the figures there and then so was going to contact/e-mail me next day. 1 week later nothing, months on nothing!! Unbelievable, waste of my time. So, I bought a new Ford Transit Custom instead, although it seems they can't be bothered to sell there vans, I feel reading the threads I've had a lucky escape.

Coming back here to remind people to not buy Citroen cars. Was promised my refund from the 5th of December and still waiting! They actually admitted to sending my refund to the wrong customer. Total embarrassment! Speaks volumes itself.

No Customer care.

Just like most people on here I've experienced the same lack of customer care. To get my subscription services to work and update my maps i need to upload new software. Dealers don't want to do it and even they say it's a nightmare and customer care will tell you if it goes wrong it's your problem not there's. Lovely care shame about the dealerships and lack of customer care.

I own a 20 plate Citroen Berlingo 130 xl Enterprise van, I bought it new from the main dealer.
I work as a courier so I do high mileage but the van is serviced to the extent that I have spent a fortune on it.
My gripe is that at three and a half years old it is now on it’s fourth engine. The supplied new engine had to be rebuilt, plus I have had two new complete engine replacements.
It would not be so bad if I was not repeatedly declined every warranty claim I have made.
This is disgraceful from Citroen as they are fully aware of the timing chain fault in the 1.5dci engine.
Thank you very much Citroen!!!

Non-existent customer service; poor systems

I have had my new Citroen C3 Aircross nearly two months now. I am still waiting for them to activate the Connected Services which give real-time road updates amongst other items..Despite repeated comms with Citroen (not) customer service I have made no progress. My first complaint was just ignored; my second complaint; they have now stopped even bothering to respond.

Map updates -You have to spend the best part of an hour on a computer to download their app and map updates, then transfer to a USB stick. You are then told the update can take up to an hour and you have to have the engine running the whole time. I have now found out that the car is picky about which USB stick you use and rejects it. Back to start with hours wasted.
Any pleasure from the new car has now been lost and I will bear this in mind when I next change my car. Shocking systems and customer service.

Just purchased a Citroën berlingo xl…

Just purchased a Citroën berlingo xl crew van 2023 it arrived on 4th December 2023.
As I was unable to add any extras from the online buyers. I was left with adding my personal add ons myself.
Unbelievably I have been unable to purchase a full set of mats.
Apparently Citroën thought it would be a good idea to only have the passenger and drivers side available whilst having the rear of the van where the three seats are not 🤷‍♂️
Please explain to me why I have spent a considerable amount of money for Citroën to not manufacturer such an important part of a trade van.
And by the way.
No third party now do either.
I was told at my local Citroën dealer that they were available. So I ordered them only to find out that they never even checked either that rear mats were not available .
Great first impressions NOT 👎

Thanks Citroën 👌

Despite being very clear on a recorded call about the fact that my vehicle has a manufacturing defect, the customer service rep did everything to ignore citroens responsibility. 4 different dealerships say they have fixed the problem, but the issue still exists. Even with evidence of a manufacturing technical bulletin they ignored me a lot the phone down. I will never buy a Citrien again or suggest that anyone I know but one either.
