Extremely disappointing experience
Extremely disappointing experience with Chiara Colombini, both in terms of customer service and how a return has been handled.
Communication throughout the purchase was exceptionally poor. A delivery date was confirmed to me in writing before I placed the order. That date was missed, as were subsequent delivery arrangements, and the furniture eventually arrived almost four weeks later than originally agreed.
During this period, getting reliable information was extremely difficult. I repeatedly had to chase for updates, agreed dates came and went, and on the eventual day of delivery I struggled to obtain any information despite repeated attempts to contact the company. Chiara Colombini twice promised to provide a compensation proposal for the delivery problems. No proposal was ever provided.
Unfortunately, the experience became even worse after delivery.
I had ordered a standard piece of furniture, selecting one of the standard finishes offered on the website. It was not made to my measurements or individual specifications. Two days after delivery, I notified Chiara Colombini that I wished to return it. It remains completely unused and protected.
Chiara Colombini refused the return because they classify the item as “made to order”. Their explanation is that they ordered it from their supplier after receiving my order rather than holding it in stock. I repeatedly asked them to address the distinction between something being ordered from a supplier after purchase and something actually being made to a customer's individual specifications. They maintained their refusal.
I even offered to arrange and pay for the return transport myself in an attempt to resolve matters. This was also refused.
What has been most disappointing is the combination of repeated delays, extremely poor communication, unfulfilled promises and the approach taken when I tried to resolve the return.
Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about ordering from Chiara Colombini. In particular, I would strongly recommend getting written confirmation before ordering about delivery dates and whether an item will be classified as “made to order” and non-returnable, even when you are simply choosing from the standard options displayed on their website.

DO NOT INVEST in BROKEN GOODS!!
A proactive approach to resolving a customer defect would demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction and long-term brand loyalty. I wish all potential customers reading this feedback will understand their investment does not worth it at all. If you just sell design but deliver broken goods without any possibility to exchange the piece clearly damaged during your own process, I just wish some People will understand this ahead and just not invest in a company that does not worth it, at all!

Please note that for this, you need to notify us upon reception of the delivery and send us a photo of the damaged piece. Your order was delivered on 25th July 2024 but you only notified us of the damaged globe on 9th November 2024.
As we mentioned in the email you received on 23rd July 2024 notifying you of the shipment of your order, all problems need to be reported within 48h of reception of the order. We are happy to be flexible and we frequently accept notifications that arrive a few days later, but you contacted us over 3 months later. Unfortunately it is now too late to make a reclamation.
