I have used Cheap O Air multiple times and this will be the last time I use them unfortunately. I booked a round trip to Costa Rica directly through another airline and in the middle of that round trip I booked a round trip to Brazil out of Costa Rica. I Immediately received a call from Cheap O Air trying to sell me the travel insurance for the tickets and I declined until they gave me a price I couldn’t refuse. I was told that this insurance is through cheap o air and not the airline company. I later found out that when traveling to Costa Rica from Brazil you are required to get the yellow fever vaccine. I’m not willing to get that for me or my family to so I tried to switch my return flight from Brazil to Costa Rica, to Brazil to Florida. Cheap O Air denied me buying the insurance and said it was a service fee I was charged, and even if I had it, it wouldn’t cover this. Cheap O Air would point to LATAM, LATAM would point to Cheap O Air. They both said I can go anywhere in South America but I couldn’t go to the US. Then when I tried to book to another city in Brazil they said I couldn’t do that. My Travel agent ended up calling Cheap O Air several times while I’ve been on vacation and a guy told her that he will take care of it but there will be fees. So I ended up paying more money to “cancel” my return flight to Costa Rica and “put credit towards” a flight to Florida. This was all to get me to drop fighting for the right thing to be done. So I was charged hundreds of more dollars than what the flight should have costed from Brazil to Florida, I’m still getting emails about my return flight to Costa Rica. So why did I pay hundreds more for if you weren’t going to cancel it? If I would have known that they were going to do something this bad to be I would have just bought another plane ticket for hundreds less and been done with them instead of a ticket salesman conning my travel agent. I’m feeling disappointed in CheapOair as I have been a customer of there’s for years and will not be anymore.

We are very sorry about the problems you encountered with your attempt to change your itinerary. Insurance is for medical emergencies, lost bags, delayed flights, death and claims must be filed directly with the provider and we do include the PDF coverage and benefits in your email. It is not for a voluntary change in plans or cancellation of a non refundable ticket, which can be only be cancelled and held for future credit. As a travel agency, we are bound by the airlines fare rules for the ticket type that you have purchased, as your travel agent hopefully explained. In addition, proper documentation and vaccination requirements are solely the travelers responsibility to research and know before purchasing a ticket to another country. We truly regret your experience did not meet expectations. We certainly appreciate your continued loyalty over the years and am disappointed to hear that you were not satisfied with our services on this trip.

BASIC ECONOMY fares do not include baggage as shown on your email receipt and is charged by the airline for the type of fare you purchased.
