Excellent build finish and helpful after sales support with few snags.
Would recommend them as a builder

The house is excellent. The quality compared to other new builds is evident with what would be extras in other houses included as standard. Very fair price, almost too cheap in comparison to other new builds in the area. The staff were incredibly helpful and no matter who you need to speak to they will call you back, even the managing director will call you if you need to speak to them when the sales advisor was not available. Chrissi, who sold us the property, made everything easy and was incredible in getting everything over the line! Great company to buy from, would definitely consider another new Chartford home if we decide to move in the future.

Julie and the whole team at Chartford were exceptional. The property was built on time, and I moved in not long afterwards. Any queries I had (as a first time buyer) were addressed very quickly and the team were very informative of what the process typically looks like. It's safe to say I had no issues from Chartford throughout the whole move.
The quality of finish both internally and externally was exceptional (especially given the skepticism of new build quality these days). The snagging team have also been very proactive in dealing with any very minor snags that I had on the property.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with the home. Chartford are clearly a very reputable developer, and I would reccomend their homes, the team and customer care to anybody who asked.
Thanks again!

We’re absolutely delighted with our new three-storey townhouse built by Chartford Homes. Set in a brilliant location next to the canal in Woodlesford, it offers both peaceful surroundings and great convenience. The build quality is excellent, with a high specification throughout. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped with quality appliances, and the bedrooms are generously sized – perfect for family living. There's also ample parking for two vehicles, which is a huge bonus. We couldn’t be happier with our new home!

If you are a pet owner don't bother trying to get an apartment at the Greenholme Mews development in Burley in Wharfedale , was informed today by their Sales Office that they don't allow pets !!..Really ..so your buying your own apartment and you can't have a pet..pet lovers avoid the disappointment and look elsewhere .

Firstly buying a new build house can sometimes be a disappointment as people expect perfection but we have been fortunate to have been in this process more than once - and this is a good as it gets. We fell in love with the property as it was a classic stone build property in a beautiful area. Unlike other new builds there wasn’t a long list of extras to chase the price up. Luxury kitchen appliances, tops and cupboards were all included. The build quality was excellent- remember settling cracks, minor snags and the occasional slanting ceiling is the norm due to the minor imperfections of building materials and humans involved in the process. The team was incredibly helpful throughout and we were able to visit the property multiple times before completion. The sales team was quick to respond and Bev and site manager Mick easy to work with and address any concerns. Once we moved in it was easy to contact the aftercare team and they were very responsive to help with the snags we found. Phil and Simon sorted the snags or arranged for contractors to return and repair as needed. So to summarise glitches and minor imperfections are part of your journey to make a new build your home. Perfection is the enemy of good and from experience this is as good as it gets.

We bought from Chartford in 2017 and we have had problems from the minute that we moved in. kitchen units very poor water pipes too small to feed all points, driveway tarmac breaking up, walls out of plum, rear wall badly bowed, workmanship of the bricklaying is very poor and all over the place. We have been at them for over 6 years and we finally got them into Mediation in 2023 we have had several meetings and the walls are so bad that independent surveyors have stated that all walls should be taken down and re-built, they would not do the work and we thought that because we were in Mediation they had a duty to put the problems right but they delayed into the new year and then sent a letter to say that the time to bring a claim against them had gone past the 6 year time limit and they walked away from any responsibility. Don't be conned by the so call premier guarantee, it is not worth the paper its printed on, we have never got them to deal with any one problem. Our problems are major and Chartford have basically strung out the issues by delaying and delaying then put two fingers up to us. They have no shame they do not care, i wish that we could put photos on this site and you would see how bad their work is. We are not the first and will not be the last. They are not to be trusted they will delay you or bodge it and they have no commitment to you, as soon as they have your money you are on your own. We have been insulted by them over and over and based on what they have done to us they are no better than Bodgit and Scarper, they have left us with a house that cannot be sold and they do not care less. For all you people out there that are buying or considering buying from them don't not do it without having a full survey done and i will guarantee that there will be a huge amount of issues that it will fail on. If you have move in but are inside the two years get a survey done for your own protection and do not let them delay you. Get the problems registered with the insurers but check also that your policy is correct we bought from a Chartford company but the policy was in a different Chartford name which is another issue.in my opinion they seem to register each development separately so you can not get any satisfaction from the main company, each development is in fact a separate company. I can honestly say that we feel that we have been robbed we paid £825000.00 for our home and it is probably worth £650000.00 and should be worth over a £million if it was built correctly. We asked them to buy it back and they would not even do that. why would anyone deal with a company like that.

I will start by emphasising we bought a beautiful home from Chartford almost four years ago…
However, after no more than 12 months, our kitchen finishes began to deteriorate. Largely paintwork to cupboard fronts/doors, all the aesthetics you would expect to maintain their integrity over such a short space of time. My first port of call was to contact Chartford’s on-site maintenance, who reviewed our kitchen and fully agreed that our painted surfaces shouldn’t be in such condition. Sadly - after this initial interaction and Chartford’s follow up with Omega Kitchens (who are no longer used by Chartford) we were told nothing could be done “sorry” leaving us with an ever more shabby kitchen by the day. We have no reference point for buying identical/matching paints to even attempt the repair work ourselves. On the whole, largely unhelpful without much intent at all from Chartford to help us restore the integrity of our beautiful kitchen. I would expect a premium house builder to take some ownership of poor quality products and finish, rather than discharging all responsibility to a contractor who they no longer use to fit/install kitchens.
We’ve been in our new house for just over 2 weeks now and we’re really happy with our decision. There’s been snags as you’d expect but you couldn’t ask for more from the team. From the sales process right through to after care we’ve been so impressed and genuinely appreciate the service from everyone at Chartford who’s supported us. We’d recommend them to anybody.

Having already bought a new build home from Chartford when we saw they were building what would be our dream house on the same estate we already loved we were thrilled. The houses are new but are built to be in keeping with the Listed Victorian building in the centre of the estate so they have lovely traditional touches like a big bay window in the living room and sash windows.
I have to say Chrissie who is the estate sales rep is the absolute star of Chartford - she really cares about her customers and will bend over backwards to help you. She helped us get some extra things which aren't usually offered to take our house even closer to our absolute dream, like a Belfast sink and stylish black tap (which she picked out). This whole process would have been a lot more stressful had it not been for her - thank you so much Chrissie, you have really helped create a lovely estate.

I’ve been in my new home a little over a month now, and the whole process from reserving to now has been a dream! Not one issue at all with the sales process and the team was fantastic. 4 very minor snagging issues I’ve found since I’ve moved in and all have been sorted already so I’m sure that should anything come up again in the next few years it will be dealt with quickly as well.
The standard of build and fixtures/fittings is very high and I still can’t quite believe everything that was included in the sale price, much more than I’ve ever seen with other new builds!
Where I live is also still being built and the builders are quiet and very considerate of the plots that are occupied - I honestly can’t think of any negatives which is always a worry when buying a new build

Not only is the house well built but the after care has been very impressive. After Care team of Phil Lee and Simon have been very helpful, as an elderly couple this has been very much appreciated and helpful.

We have only been in 3 weeks so cannot comment on any issues over the passage of time.
The house seems well built and small snagging issues were dealt with within 10 days of moving in. The staff and workmen still on site around us are pleasant and helpful.
Having viewed other houses in Yorkshire this seems good value for money. The quality of the white goods (AEG and Zanussi) are good, as are the bathroom fittings and tiles. The carpets are thick, and we have Amtico flooring downstairs at no additional cost. Some requested tweaks before the completion were made possible.

From start to finish the team have been great, so friendly and accommodating throughout. From initially viewing the property to moving in, the process has been smooth and effortless! Chartford have gone above and beyond our expectations, they’ve been quick to respond and resolve the initial snagging issues. We’re coming up to 12 months in the property now and they have provided a 12 month defect inspection which we have not experienced with other new build companies.
Big shout out to Chrissi & Phil in particular!

We have had a very positive experience with Chartford. Chrissi in the sales office looked after us from the moment we stepped into the sales suite. Karl on site and Phil in aftercare also have been exceptionally helpful throughout.

Phil and his team went above and beyond with the service and leak we had. (Not due to Chartford in the end)
