Carfax won't honor their buyback guarantee. They say a motor vehicle dept. can be notified of a total loss by insurance, but it doesn’t always yield a branded title immediately. A Total Loss record is... See more

Maggie is Amazing, Best Rep ever!!
Being in the Business 20 years I have used carfax since its inception and its been the best most accurate source if information and a great closing tool. The negative reviews are from being not educated on the business did they ever think maybe an insurance claim wasn't done or the situation wasn't reported? It is still 100 percent superior to any of its competitors, if you are stressed about the rare time that carfax misses something you would die over autocheck....but I digress, this review is about Maggie. She is hands down, the best Rep I have ever seen and I'm not alone. She is attentive, helpful, and honest. Many times she has not been my rep and instead of pawning me off she fixed the problem and then connected me with my rep. I've called her, on Sunday and she took time to help. So Thank you Maggie, you are absolutely 💯 the best!!!
Beware, accidents show up on car fax after purchase.
Twice now I have purchased vehicles with a clean CARFAX only to learn years after I purchased the original car fax an accident showed up on CARFAX.
Apparently CARFAX either does not enter these accident documents or they get them years after the incident. CARFAX is not a trustworthy source for accident information.
Rental
Following the rental, it was my responsibility to verify the vehicle's history on carfax.ca. To my surprise, the website displayed an invalid plate number and indicated that the car's registration information had not been updated. However, upon contacting the rental company, they confirmed that the car's details had been correctly updated in their records. This discrepancy between the information on the website and the rental company's records was unexpected and raised some concerns.
Exceeding customer service expectations...
After owning six new or certified used vehicles purchased from five BMW dealerships in the U.S. and abroad I have learned something about satisfying customer maintenance issues. The dealers can mostly be counted on to meet your needs, but rarely if ever will they exceed your expectations. That's why I use North Shore Motor Werks for cars out of warranty.
Recently both spindles on the tailgate of my 2019 X6 failed. The local MA and NH dealers said that one of the needed parts was in a two month backorder delay. James leveraged the dealer national supply network, found the part with a dealer in Michigan, had it priority shipped, and my problem was solved in a week.
James Hart and his "team" go above and beyond.
Never again....
After dealing via this particular media, I can not trust this outfit again. Whoever entered the information on the vehicle I purchased was far less then honest about the condition of it and deliberately hid previous damage in the listing. Like I said, never again.
If I can't look at it with my own 2 eyes, forget it.
Buyer beware
Buyer beware! Worst experience ever buying a Jeep from this dealership. From the first moment to the last moment, we were lied to, baited and switched, told to leave, etc. I am the first to admit I am aggressive and beleive like the rest of us that car dealers try to screw you every step of the way, but you better really come armed with your facts because yhr GM Joe D'Ambrosio looked me square in the eye and said "in my ten years in the car business I have never heard of an employee or executive discount." It does not exist." Well Joe, here is the informatiom for you in case you are ever asked again. "Employee Advantage Program
This Fiat Chrysler America program offers eligible employees, retirees and their immediate family members the opportunity to purchase or lease a new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or and Ram vehicle below Invoice. How much under invoice? The discount is up to 5 percent off the factory invoice price, depending on the vehicle. Each employee or retiree can unlock the family discounts for as many as six vehicles each year. There are also Executive discounts that can be procured from FCA management for eligible customers or clients." Hmmmmm...... 10 years in the business Joe? Maybe one year over and over again. I guess your brother Jeff is the brains of the outfit and your the person who hides behind the sales desk.
Fraudulent Reports
I purchased a 1999 Mercedes E55. Carfax added a “flood damage” alert on the car 2 years after the alleged event happened. According to Carfax, the car spent its life in northern California and northern Nevada prior to my purchasing it. I can’t see any evidence of there being a flood or hurricane in San Francisco or Reno that would explain Carfax’s claim of the car being in a flood.
I contacted Carfax and they failed to provide any evidence this happened. They told me they would only remove this alleged event from the car’s history if I can provide documentation that the event didn’t happen. The only documentation I can provide is there was no flooding in Nevada or California to explain this alleged event. How would the car be flooded when there was no flood? How can I provide documentation of something not happening?
After I purchased the vehicle from a dealer in California, the previous owner of the car stated he knew nothing about the event and there was no flooding.
Carfax’s support is not helpful, Carfax failed to provide a single piece of evidence for their claim my car had flood damage and Carfax refused to answer questions about the event.
Since Carfax has no evidence this event happened and refuse to provide any evidence. Carfax does not respond to messages left on Facebook they simply ask you to submit an email through their support center which they do not answer.

Carfax.com is a pos company in earnest…
Carfax.com is a pos company in earnest I purchased 3 pack of carfax reports and promptly used 1. Then find out the other 2 expire in 60 days. I would like to use a few 4 letter words to describe carfax and this practice. They are not canned goods and shouldn't "expire" will never use this s41t company again.
Terribly unreliable
Terribly unreliable. Carfax has the wrong mileage of my vehicle, which I went to lengths to try to prove through service records, sales report etc. And I ended up losing a sale because they make a common mistake of looking at the odometer in miles, then converting it to kms. My mechanic says they do this regularly. Why would a company with alleged authority over such crucial information continue to make such a grave error ?? I'm waiting for an answer..

I had no say in this report
I had no say in this report. I went yesterday to see about trading out of my car lease early. Glad I did because I found out the 2024 models will be significantly higher. So much so I will not be able to afford staying with my current brand. I was thinking how I was going to pay the deposit let alone the extra monthly amount when they came back with the carfax report. According to the carfax I had an accident and why was I was keeping that from the dealer? So it will cost me $100 a month more. What??? First, I didn't remember having any accident. I bumped the car in front of me while being directed to inch my way forward to get my car into a parking lot.The police were standing right there. Both the car I tapped and mine had no visual issues. But the police wrote a report. They then sent it to carfax. I was not asked nor told about this. But carfax says I had an accident. I finely am calm enough to write this. Why is the dealer saying I have to pay more because of carfax? I have a good credit score. I pay all my bills on time. If anything my insurance company should be the one doing the increase, not the car dealer. I won't be letting this go. If I need to hire a lawyer, I will. carfax is looking into it. I hope there is a resolution in my favor. I am not letting this go. I work too hard to keep my credit in good standing.
Wrong information
Carfax is totally just a waste of money, they add the accidental record in my car even though my car doesn't even have a scratch. Don't recommend at all
Their reports are missing registration…
Their reports are missing registration from over 3 years ago! They refuse to provide a refund and updated it. Why would I pay for an updated report, and why aren't they are proactively updating their reports? Because they don't care, and they are just after your money.
Very accurate
Very accurate. Don’t believe the negative reviews. They are by competing reviewers from fake reports such as caremedic.ca and Motovin.com. They harvest data from AutoTrader and basic VIN info with fake sales values.
My car was cloned in the states
My car was cloned in the states, I live in Canada. I reported this to carfax but they only believed the cloner. My car was bought new locally and hadn't left the local area because of covid. The head of Ford spoke to carfax as the car had a lien on and he was with me ans the car, they still wouldn't change the details. They said it had a crash and was written off in 3 different states in the US. In the end I threatened to sue and had to contact the states in the US myself to declare fraud. Not worth the paper it's written on. AVOID
My information is always wrong and they…
My information is always wrong and they blow up my email
You pay your money for nothing
I paid about $50 for a CARFAX report to get details on a car. In the report I received, I found basic information that is freely available on many websites on the Internet. I don't recommend using CARFAX, you are paying your money for nothing.
