Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the product to be incomplete and inaccurate, leading to overpaying for vehicles or discovering undisclosed damage and issues after purchase. People frequently mentioned that the service was below par and not worth the cost, with reports often lacking crucial details or containing erroneous information. The pricing for reports was also a significant point of dissatisfaction, with many finding it too expensive for the limited and often unreliable information provided. Some customers also experienced issues with the website, describing it as difficult to navigate and prone to losing search information. The overall value for money was consistently rated as poor, with many feeling that the reports offered little more than what could be found for free elsewhere.

Sad!

Their web portal and app are both idiotically out-of-date and do not make it easy to keep one's vehicle information updated. There must be shady reasons for this and I no longer trust this company.

As a woman

As a woman, buying a car is intimidating and stressful. Please don't support this business, they take advantage of people. I was just recovering from a car accident that totaled my vehicle and needed a replacement.

The vehicle I purchased has given me ongoing issues from the first week I drove it home with the check engine light coming on. I went into this dealership as a single woman and I feel as if this business took advantage of me. The vehicle is a lemon costing me time and money with the owner telling me when I returned the vehicle to him that "he is not a mechanic".

I was told when viewing the truck that someone had stolen the catalytic converters and that I could not test drive the vehicle because they needed to replace the catalytic converter. Upon driving the truck off of the lot the check engine light came on within the first week. With several times going back to the dealership with a promise to repair and the issues were never resolved, and no paperwork was ever provided showing what was repaired.

Honestly, I was desperate to replace my vehicle which made this purchase pressured. I chose a truck because I was feeling vulnerable. I am sharing this with you because the reason I went to this dealership was because of a pre-approved notification by Capital One. I would have never of considered this business otherwise. I considered this dealership reputable because of its affiliation with Capital One.

This is not a reputable business, and the owner and staff are not trustworthy. If they did this to me, a healthcare professional who took time away from work to drop off and pick up her truck in scrubs over and over again. Swindling me to my face. Leaving me without a vehicle and possible legal fees to get representation.

You will just be the next victim.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware. Fugate Motors in ElDorado Springs, MO. Sold a used car that they were aware, had issues. Failure within 2 hours of purchase. Warned me that smell in car was from detailing done.....wrote up inspection the day of purchase .....tried to intercept my use of extended warranty that I purchased.....third party determined that items should have been caught on a pre -sale inspection...sales manager said I was lucky the car didn't catch fire.

I bought a used GM Certified with a Carfax report showing no accidents. A paint bubble turned out to be caused by an area of a quarter panel that was bondo filled. Carfax is only as reliable as what’s been reported, meaning not reliable at all.

Sleezy experience

This is a Red McCombs owned car dealership. My purchase was at their SW Military "drive out" location. Apparently it's where they send the cars they don't want to put their name on, and the employees they don't want either. My salesman, Renteria, was your stereotypical car salesman. Everything he said was made up or he just had no knowledge of his products. After listening to the salesman's total nonsensical BS the car was paid for and I went home to leave the car I was in and return. Made it back two hours later, just before they closed. The car was sitting there, dirty as it had ever been with paper and tape stuck to the inside of the windshield and pieces of paper where the "as is no warranty" sticker was. I asked the salesman Renteria if they had a razor blade so I could scrape off the glue and paper stuck to the inside of the windshield, he said no we don't have one. Later I noticed the "as is" paper wadded up and crammed in the passenger door pocket. There was a make ready person sitting in their garage when I left before returning hours later to pick up the car, but I guess the salesman didn't want to bother him. As if all this sleaze wasn't bad enough the car needs $2,000 worth of transmission repairs. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

I am very frustrated by CARFAX service

I am very frustrated by CARFAX service. My vehicle had an accident. I had it my garage for few months. I took to repair shop, and CARFAX reported it as new accident. I showed them all the evidence to prove that was the same one, and that time I am fixing it. Very poor support. I wonder how can I report that to higher leverl

If only I could give 0 stars. I purchased a 3 carfax report bundle and only used 1 carfax. A year later my other two reports are purged from my account. I submitted a case but they never responded. I will be reporting these scammers to BBB.

I brought a CarFax report for the Toyota Camry 2002. But I'm surprised to see the report. There were no details regarding accidents or title changes. Also, no recent information about owner change.

Then I search on Google and found Detailed Vehicle History (DVH) and then get one report from them and I'm happy with that report. The report comes with detailed information including accident information, auction information as well as images.

These guys are a joke

These guys are a joke. There is a Minor Damage report on my car. There was no damage ever. I own a shop and the car has never left my position. No claims filed, no parts replaced.
They say the information is "Verified" but cannot (will not?) tell me how this information was verified.
It's false and inaccurate and is hurting the value of this car.

ADE AUTO SALES

I bought a mazda3 S 2.5 from ADE Auto Sales. Thank you, Carfax. You sent me to the right place. That guy and his wife made it so easy for me. They didn't try to jack up the price or anything. I got it as advertised. It was an unexpected and pleasant experience. Now I know where to go for my wife's next car.

Negative dealer reviews not posted and corrections next to impossible

I wrote a dealer review that was negative about the service department at a local major GM dealer and carfax failed to publish the review. So, it appears dealer reviews are skewed. I did not receive a reason as to why it was not published.

In a separate incident, I went to trade in a vehicle we bought new and the dealer showed me a carfax report that indicated our car was in an accident. It was not. I witnessed a hit and run accident and remained with the victim until an officer arrived at the scene.

The officer took my name/information and that report was enough to trigger carfax to show our vehicle was in an accident. So, carfax caused me to lose about $3,000 on the trade-in value of my car. Trying to help a little old lady was costly....

Wish I could give negative stars

Wish I could give negative stars. Took my 2018 car in for trade-in. Dealer said Carfax shows minor damage (might be scratch). Long story short, I appeal this and ask Carfax where they got the information. Answer was source wishes to be anonymous. Are you kidding. Even in court you get to know who your accuser is. Anyway, never had work down on the car, no insurance claims, nothing. Their reply was the report matches my VIN and if there was any work done "provide related estimate or final bill for review." Nothing to give them since nothing done. So do they just take someone's word for it that there is damage (although only a possible scratch). Total Crap. I ask them if they pay these anonymous reports, and by their not answering that question, I can only surmise. Wish I had the wherewithal to sue them.
