Awful Service, Hideous Coffee, Disgusting Toilets
If you take the tour bus, it parks right outside this place, and as part of your ticket price you’ll be offered a mini-sized cake. They have some sort of deal going on with the tourist board I guess?!
Anyway, this is the worst, most rude place I’ve had the misfortune to visit on my road trip across France. Seriously to be avoided.
The girl who served us ( no name tag- but has a beauty spot on her face) was rude from the get go.
I asked for a Cafe Grande ( which across France has gotten me a medium cup of coffee, not an expresso). I also asked for an Americano.
She was arrogant and aggressively demanded to know if we wanted a ‘long’ coffee. To which we thought she meant a large cup - and said yes.
When she brought them, we asked for milk at which point she began to lecture/admonish us. She then charged us €1.20 for a drop of milk!! Telling us that we already ‘had our chance’ to ask for it ( it was never offered).
The service was done with a scowl and an attitude of utter contempt, she was rude & miserable at all times, did not smile once.
The worst part….. The coffee was absolutely disgusting. Bitter as all hell and almost undrinkable.
……and when you thought it couldn’t get any worse….. the toilet! OMG… The sink inside was taped-up with cellotape and was filthy.
I cannot for the life of me think why the tourist board of Bordeaux would want visitors to be subjected to such awful treatment- by rude people who clearly hate their jobs.
Been all over France and know this isn’t the case, but if you were a 1st time visitor you would think that the French were a hateful bunch going off this experience
