AL1639713 Bought a necklace with 2…

AL1639713 I am extremely disappointed with both the quality of the jewellery and the way Abbot Lyon has handled my complaint.

The necklace and charm, which were bought as a special gift for my mum, have tarnished despite being properly cared for. For a company that markets itself as selling premium jewellery, this level of quality is simply unacceptable.

What has made the experience even worse is the customer service. Rather than taking responsibility, they have repeatedly hidden behind their warranty policy, claiming the 5-year warranty only applies to purchases made after a certain date. However, their website clearly advertises a 5-year warranty, and it appears the qualifying purchase date has changed over time. This is confusing at best and, in my opinion, misleading.

To make matters worse, after reading numerous Trustpilot reviews, it appears the company has chosen to replace tarnished items for some customers while refusing others in almost identical circumstances. This gives the impression that they are selective in how they apply their policies rather than treating customers fairly and consistently.

The responses I received from customer service were dismissive, unhelpful, and showed little interest in resolving the issue. Instead of standing behind the quality of their products, they simply refused to help.

I would not recommend Abbot Lyon based on my experience. Poor product quality, inconsistent treatment of customers, and disappointing customer service have left me extremely upset and with no confidence in the company.

We updated our warranty to five years for all orders placed from 19th August 2025 onwards, and we appreciate that seeing this on our website may have given the impression that it applies to all purchases. However, as your order was placed before this date, it falls under our previous warranty terms, which provided two years of cover from the date of purchase.

Great products and great customer…

Great products and great customer service too. After countless purchases I can say this is probably my favourite company all round. Advertisement is accurate, their items truly last, one particular necklace I’ve worn almost daily for 3 years. I recently experienced the actual customer service on offer and was blown away, I purchased a pair of pearl huggie earrings and sadly the pearls fell out (they’re discontinued now). The same day I informed them of the fault I received a voucher code not only covering the earrings but delivery too. I recently went to use it and it had expired :(. I emailed customer service who were able to extend my voucher, again same day.

This is a great example of a company…

This is a great example of a company that give and gift the world to influencers and provide nothing to paying customers. Customer service is awful, second time ordering after my order couldn’t be completed with the rubbish ink pads and never refunded. Tried again with the digital app and now 3 months wait. If I had 500,000 followers it would be done in a week.

My new fave earrings!!

I recently purchased the polka dot huggie hoop earrings and they are so beautiful. I literally wear them everyday they go with every outfit and are so comfortable.

Can’t recommend Abbott Lyon enough, gorgeous and affordable jewellery.

Terrible quality and customer service

Quite simply, terrible quality and customer service.

I bought a necklace from Abbott Lyon as a gift for my wife, given in the name of our newborn daughter, just over two years ago. It was a deeply sentimental piece and meant a great deal to her.

Unfortunately, the necklace recently snapped in half. When I checked the website and saw a 5-year warranty advertised, I thought this would be straightforward to resolve.

Instead, customer service responded with plenty of polite wording about how valued I am as a customer, but informed me that when I originally purchased the necklace, the warranty period was only two years. Since I was just outside that period, they refused to help.

My wife loved the necklace - of course she did, given what it represented. Did Abbott Lyon show any consideration for that? Absolutely not.

A company that promotes quality and longevity should stand behind its products, especially when they fail after such a short time. Based on my experience, it seems I’d need to spend another £100 every couple of years to replace jewellery that keeps breaking.

I suggest you look elsewhere.
