Turned up on time, very courteous, Stuart and Dan introduced themselves, very clean and tidy, left no mess. Very good neat job. Over the moon with the job they did. Would definitely recommend Stuart and Dan to others.

Stuart and Dan were amazing, friendly and professional. They made sure i was 100% happy with my new door and made sure I had all the information I needed. I would definitely recommend 1st glass to my family and friend. I will be back lol.

Avoid 1st Glass – Dreadful Quality, Severe Delays, and Illegal Financing Practices

I strongly advise anyone looking for windows to stay far away from this company. My experience with them has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish.

We agreed on a contract to purchase 6 windows in January 2026, and I paid a 50% deposit on a total price of £4,300. The agreed installation date was March. As March approached, they delayed the installation until the end of April, claiming my window color was "too rare" and needed extra time—a clear excuse for failing to order the stock on time.

When they finally arrived over a month late, the incompetence was staggering:

Terrible Planning: A simple 2-day installation dragged out because they forgot to order scaffolding for the first day.

Appalling Workmanship: The overall quality is awful. I have had to personally re-silicone the windows myself multiple times. The windowsills arrived scratched and looked used, not new.

Incorrect Measurements: They measured the first-floor windows incorrectly. When they realized their mistake, they actually suggested modifying the structure of my house to make their wrong windows fit. They ended up leaving my bedroom boarded up.

Illegal Financial Practices: While my bedroom was boarded up and the job was completely unfinished, they aggressively demanded I release the second half of the payment so they could get the cash from the finance company. Demanding a payout before a job is complete is completely illegal. I felt heavily manipulated and intimidated into releasing the funds because I was scared they would abandon the job, which unfortunately lost me all my leverage.

Constant Defective Stock: They have repeatedly installed heavily scratched and defective glass. Every time they come to replace a damaged unit, they replace it with another damaged unit. It is now July, and I am still stuck with two defective units.

Awful Customer Service: They regularly miss scheduled appointments without warning, only calling days later to tell me I should "be thankful they are even coming." A representative named Mark acts brave and aggressive on the phone but refuses to take real accountability when pressed.

My advice to anyone reading this: Never, ever release the final payment to this company until you are 100% happy with the finished product. Better yet, avoid these cowboy operators entirely.

Stuart and Dan were brilliant did a great job cleaning up after they have finished. And the door excellent quality. I am very happy with the company and the service . Just keep it up. Thanks again.

Yesterday I had my external door replaced. The installer and everyone who helped did an amazing job. They also were very tidy and cleaned everything from inside and outside. A very professional job was delivered. Thank you very much

This company was recommended by a friend who used their service before. We engaged with them to install a sliding door in between our conservatory and lounge. Throughout the whole process, from the first visit, quotation, measurement and installation, everyone have been very friendly, helpful and patient. We have to change our initial installation date and there was no issue at all. And when they couldn't make it for the scheduled installation date (due to overrun work), they informed us early and we were happy to reschedule again (I guess that made us 1-1 😅). Finally, during the installation day, Lee, our installer came on time and install the door single handedly! He was very friendly and his work is beautiful. The best part is he cleaned the place up after the work is done. Price wise I think it's reasonable. Definitely will recommend to everyone looking to install a door or windows.

Lee who fitted my front door was a gentleman and clean worker.made a good job of my front door.and now ive ordered a french door.i also need my windows changing .but will do them later with 1st glass.

Excellent friendly,family run firm makes one feel at ease from the unhurried discussions,planning and scheduling to specifications.
Particularly pleased with the door quality and workmanship put into it along with immaculate fitting by Lee.
Already booked with the firm fir another family project!.

Very pleased with our new external doors , the fitters was very professional ,made sure everything was to a high standard and cleaned up after themselves .

Chris, Anthony and Alex installed 2 bedroom windows and 1 patio door in my kitchen. It was a difficult job for them as my house is 3 stories with no access to the back garden!! However they completed the job very professionally and cleanly, would recommend and use this company again

From day one, everything started off brilliantly. Mo came to quote us for our windows and was extremely professional. He wasn't pushy at all, answered all of our questions, and made the whole process feel straightforward.

The fitters, Mick and Nigel, were absolutely fantastic. They were professional, friendly, worked to a very high standard, and left everything clean and tidy. We couldn't fault their work.

Unfortunately, from that point onwards, the experience went downhill. Once the windows were fitted, every pane of glass had scratch marks and needed replacing. Since then, it's been constant back and forth trying to get the issue resolved, with repeated delays and broken promises.

We were told replacement glass had been ordered, only for someone to turn up a day earlier than the agreed appointment with just two panes instead of the four required, meaning everything had to be reordered. We were then booked in again, but nobody turned up on the scheduled day. Today, another installer arrived with only two panes because, apparently, the other glass couldn't be found in the warehouse.

After being promised by Andy on the phone yesterday that everything was there and ready to complete the job, I called him again this morning. He admitted he didn't want to let us down after all the previous mistakes. However, I would much rather nobody had attended than have someone arrive knowing the job couldn't be completed properly.

To make matters worse, when I questioned this, Andy's response was, "Well, you've got the windows, it's just the glass." I found this dismissive and unprofessional. We've paid £4,000 for these windows and expect the job to be completed to the standard promised. We shouldn't have to keep chasing, rearranging our time, and dealing with excuse after excuse just to have brand-new, undamaged windows installed.

It's a real shame because the sales experience and the fitting team were excellent, but the after-sales service has been incredibly disappointing and has completely let the company down.

Great friendly and informative service from Lee. Fantastic experience and professional service from Lee and all of the team at 1st Class doors and windows. They also do other services (ie.canopys).
1st Class by name means real 1st class service 👏. 30th June 2026.

Nice no nonsense company finished products look fantastic

The service was excellent. Lee who fitted the door was top notch showed me the workings and cleaned up as he went along. Top class company. I know where I'll be going if I need anything in the future. 5☆☆☆☆☆

Chris and Anthony fitted my new front door. They were hard working efficient and cleaned up after themselves. Delighted with my new door.

I have had all of my windows, doors and French doors fitted by First Glass UK. More recently I have had my porch sprayed to match the windows and doors in Chartwell Green.
Tom did an excellent job, no mess, and very polite.
I would highly recommend First Glass UK as the staff are friendly and polite and the work is carried out to high standard whilst good value for your money.

From the first contact we had a good experience. Mo the salesman was very friendly and polite. No sales pressure he just asked what we required and gave us a quote. We agreed the price which we thought was reasonable .
We then got a follow up call to arrange the surveyor visit.
The installation date was agreed. On the day the fitters Anthony and Chris arrived on time. They were nice,polite and friendly. They respected our property and did a great job. This was on one of the hottest days of the year. They finished and did a good job of clearing up leaving minimal cleaning to do.
Would definately recommend this company.

From beginning to end we were kept informed of what was happening step by step. Lee and the surveyor were extremely friendly so were the fitters Adil & Junaid. I have employed them again to sort my windows so hopefully the next process will be as good 😊 Thanks to all of you @1st Glass

I could not recommend 1st glass more highly! From initial sales meeting, through to completion they did everything they said they would! I was called when they said they’d call, they arrived when they said they were going to arrive. Really top quality product, custom design of stained glass work completed too - nothing was too much trouble! The fitting team, Rob & Dave were incredible, and I certainly don’t envy them working on the hottest week of the year! Thank you again to the whole team, would not hesitate to use you again. In fact, you’ll be the first people I call.
