Slow, ineffective ordering/returns process and poor level of customer service.
I placed orders on 25th March 2020. I attempted to cancel these orders on the same day by emailing Vichy Customer Services, as I had found the Vichy products at a better price elsewhere, even though Vichy were having a sale. When I emailed customer service, I was informed that they were unable to cancer orders because they had already been sent to the warehouse. Why they couldn't contact their warehouse and stop them them picking and dispatching the items was never explained. Instead, I was told that it would be my responsibility as the customer to receive both orders and return them for a refund. Again, I was in disbelief at the poor level of customer service and that I was being asked to do their work for them effectively.
I received the items a few days later, one of which was damaged. In order to return the items, I had to fill in a returns form, writing each items name in full individually with a reason code. I had quite a few items so this whole process was fairly onerous. There was a separate section I had to complete for the damaged item. This all seemed very old fashioned, given that other company's provide a returns slip which already has all these details printed on it, to make it as easy as possible to return items. Usually, you simply mark which ones your are returning and add a reason code. I then carefully repackaged the items with the returns forms. These had to be returned using signed for deliver, which was expensive. The items were posted on 29th March 2020 and would have been received at Vichy by 31st March 2020.
To date, despite sending numerous emails to Vichy Customer Services, I have had no confirmation that the items have been received and that my return has been processed. It has been 4 weeks since I posted the items back and I am still out of pocket by £37.50 and £34.50, for the two orders. The last I heard, this had been escalated by Vichy Customer Services to another department and I was informed that I would received a response within two working days. It has now been five working days and I have received no update, despite chasing Customer Services again yesterday.
I would not recommend using Vichy UK, particularly as you can purchase their products more cheaply from other companies who do have effective and modern ordering, returns and Customer Services functions.
