Simplicity Itself

The simplicity of the entire transaction is what made it so wonderful. I made a phone call and except for cleaning out the truck, I was basically done. Vehicles for Vets managed everything else. They arranged for the tow truck to come pick it up, I signed the title over and gave them the keys and it was done. I had envisioned loads of paperwork, mountains of requests...and nope, we're done. Totally easy and actually a pretty amazing experience. And as the widow of a Marine Corps veteran, I kind of feel like I did the right thing. Thank you, Vehicles for Veterans

Linda and Sandy were very patient.

Linda and Sandy were very patient with me as I got things ready. They both communicated with me and explained what I needed to do. The driver of the tow truck was very nice and again was patient. He was very careful in hooking my car up to the tow.

Easy, smoothe process.

Donating my car to Vehicles for Veterans was an easy process. When I contacted this organization the woman I spoke to gave an explanation of how this works and what to expect. All went very smoothly and I felt good about donating my car.

Kay an Auctions Sucks

V for V referred me to Kayman Auxtions, the local company. They became a two month long nightmare of incorrect forms and lots of notirizations.
Even after I satisfied their form requirements they called back wanting more - seems they lost a form and wanted me to redo my process.
I would stop using Kayman if I were you.
Sincerely
Dave

Reply from Vehicles For Veterans

Hi Dave,

We’re very sorry to hear about your frustration during the donation process. We want to clarify that Vehicles for Veterans is a nonprofit car donation program, and Kayman Auctions is a separate third-party tow and processing company we partner with to help handle vehicle pick-ups and title transfers.

In this particular case, the donation process was more complicated because the vehicle was not registered in your name and the initial paperwork provided contained an incorrect VIN. Our team and Kayman Auctions worked together to prepare corrected documents, contact the lienholder, and secure the proper release from the registered owner to complete the donation legally. Unfortunately, that required additional steps and time.

We completely understand how inconvenient that must have felt, and we’re working with our partners to ensure expectations and timelines are clearer for future donors. We truly appreciate your patience and generosity in choosing to donate your vehicle to benefit veterans.

After being told by the VA in Grayling…

After being told by the VA in Grayling that the VA doesn't take old vehicles, I found a link on line to donate my old van. I was totally impressed by the quick response I received telling me that they would have someone call to schedule a pick-up. I was impressed!! Thank you for being so prompt in the response and pick-up of my old van. In the future I will most likely have another vehicle (a 2006 model Ford 500). Meanwhile I'll keep the information to contact you when that happens. I have also referred a couple of people to you so they can donate a vehicle as well. Great job!!!
