Getting the shuttle to pick me up was a headache and that wasn’t even the worst part. When I got there to get the rental, they tried to upsell me on prepaid tolls and loss of use insurance coverage, aside from the coverage my Visa already carries and my liability. They tried to say that I had to pay a $500 deposit plus the cost of the rental. I was so frustrated because I don’t deal with all of this extra with Enterprise or National. I called Booking.com to cancel. While waiting for the shuttle to come back, one of the smoothe talking guys talked me into getting the car by saying they are a small business so the deposit is to cover the deductible should I get into an accident. He only charged the remaining balance then $250 for deposit. I didn’t get a chance to do a good walk around because it was storming. He said that they take pics at each return so I didn’t need to worry. I still took pics when I got to the parking garage at the hotel-I DO NOT TRUST THIS PROCESS!! There was damage to the driver’s side back panel near the back door and to the lift gate where the handle is. I wanted to be out of that vehicle so badly that as soon as my last meeting was done, I returned it at 2:30; it wasn’t due til 6. Upon return, the guy at the counter never said my vehicle was checked in. He did call the airport van for me. He went outside to put someone else in a rental. When he came back, I asked if he needed anything else from me. He said everything was good, did a couple more things with other customers then went back outside, I assume to take pics, then drove away in the vehicle that I had. While I was waiting for the shuttle, a couple came in to return their vehicle. A different guy talked through their return and then told them if they did the review for the 3rd party vendor, and gave a good review, he would release their deposit as a courtesy. After they did, he said that their deposit had been released. I asked him if my vehicle had been checked in, because I returned it at 2:35, but it wasn’t due til 6,so I didn’t get any prorated refund and the guy didn’t go through a return process with me. He said that it was and that everything was good. He asked me to do the survey that I should have received and that he would release my deposit, as a courtesy. I told him I’m not being forced to complete a survey to get my deposit back and that my deposit should be released upon return. He said that he could release it today as a courtesy but since I won’t complete the survey, my deposit would be released in 2 to 3 business days. Then when the shuttle arrived, he was trying to rush me away from there. I will be leaving this detailed review on all of the big name review sites as well as reporting to the BBB and anyone else I see fit. I will consult my niece, my partner’s mother and sister, who are all attorneys, to see just how illegal this is. I hate feeling like I’m getting scammed and that’s what this entire transaction felt like. I still feel like they will try to, somehow, make me responsible for the pre-existing damage. I felt like they were going to wait til 6pm to process the return. I never received a receipt or email confirming my return. That alone should tell you what you need to know.

I have scratched the two alloy wheels, the have charged me 1200 pound for the replacement of
one of them. I have asked for the invoice several times to claim my insurance, up to now didn't get any answers. Probably because they didn't need to change the wheel so they can't give me invoice. For the rest the car was good and personell at the counter gentle and professional.

I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my rental car needs. The entire staff is fantastic. From the moment you are picked up by the shuttle to walking in the front door of the agency you are greeted with respect until the very end of your rental car experience. The cars are always clean , the price point is better than the competition and the car selection is always up to date with newer vehicles. S. I have to say, I was really wary booking with this company initially due to some of the reviews I've read. It also felt like a too good to be true bargain. I had a small rental for 7 days for £44. I messaged both USAVE headquarters and Salzburg beforehand for piece of mind to check the booking was confirmed and legitimate, which it was. The Salzburg branch responds almost immediately to Whats App queries which was very reassuring. When I landed and came through baggage, I sent a Whats App and they responded straight away to say I will be collected in 10 minutes. After 10 minutes I was picked up in a branded shuttle bus and taken by myself to their branch 5 minutes drive from the airport - super easy. I went upstairs to the office, sorted through the paperwork and it was done. I had to pay 18EUR for a vignette as this wasn't included through the third party website I booked with, but I was aware of this beforehand and in total, it is still a bargain offer. I was a solo travelling young female, and I didn't feel intimidated by the all male staff at all. Drop off again was super easy and I was taken straight to the airport after a quick visual check. Within a few days my deposit had been returned. The car was great for what I needed. A few usage marks in the boot and carpet mats, but honestly - I'd happily take it for the price. I'd happily use again, thank you.

They invented a damage, very very small and identifiable only with the doors open. Evaluation of the damage reported was for 50 euros and they requested the payment of 368 euro.

Reservation confirmed but car was refused at pickup
I had a very frustrating experience with U-Save Car & Truck Rental.
I made a confirmed reservation through Booking.com / Rentalcars.com and paid in advance, expecting a normal pickup process at the rental desk.
However, when I arrived to collect the car, the staff refused to give me the vehicle because they required a bank credit card in the name of the main driver. This requirement was not clearly highlighted during the booking process.
Because of this, they simply refused to deliver the car, leaving us without transportation despite having a valid and paid reservation.
What is most concerning is that:
• The reservation was accepted and confirmed.
• Payment was taken.
• The requirement that prevented the rental was not clearly communicated beforehand.
This created a very stressful situation and disrupted our travel plans.
I believe rental conditions that can invalidate a reservation should be clearly and prominently communicated before payment is accepted. Otherwise, customers can easily arrive at the counter and be denied the service they already paid for.
I hope this review encourages the company to improve transparency and customer service in situations

Arrived to collect a car at the Gatwick depot in London. The shuttle service from the airport was efficient and the collection process itself was fairly smooth.
However, I was very disappointed with the experience at the desk. The staff member sold us additional insurance cover that we clearly didn’t need. While I acknowledge that I ultimately agreed to it, the way it was presented felt like high-pressure selling.
We were collecting the car late in the evening after travelling with young children, and I wasn’t in the best frame of mind to analyse what was being said. I had already purchased third-party excess/deposit cover in advance, which on review provided more than adequate protection. When asked, I told the agent that I already had cover. I was then told that my policy was “no good” and was strongly encouraged to buy USave’s cover instead.
Under pressure, I agreed and ended up paying roughly £250 for their cover — more than the cost of the original car hire itself.
In hindsight I should have pushed back, but the sales approach felt inappropriate given the circumstances and left a bad impression. Customers should be aware that additional cover may be pushed strongly at the desk. If you already have excess insurance, it’s worth reviewing it beforehand and being prepared to decline.
