I reserved a Jeep Compass for 3 days at a rate of $20.90/day, totaling $62.70. I was told the pickup would be at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), but the actual location was a converted residential building in a dark, secluded neighborhood about 30 minutes away from the airport.
When I arrived in the evening, there were no staff members present. Instead, a "virtual agent" appeared on a monitor. Without explaining any rental terms or policies, they pressured me to sign the digital pad first. Only after I signed did they verbally call out the total amount and start mentioning confusing charges like EZ Pass and various insurances. Even though I insisted on using my own personal insurance, they forced me to take the rental company's insurance. Given that it was late at night, pitch black outside, and in a deserted residential area, I felt I had no choice but to proceed, or I would have been stranded.
The rental process took about 30 minutes through a screen. In the end, the rental agreement showed a total of $361.73, and they charged me a total of $611.73 (including a hidden $250 security deposit). To make matters worse, the Jeep Compass I booked wasn't available, so they gave me a Nissan Kicks instead.
While driving at around 65 mph, a small plastic piece from the rear driver-side window just flew off in the wind. When I returned the car, the female staff member on-site was kind, but she completely ignored my protest regarding the predatory overcharging. Furthermore, I didn't even receive the booking confirmation email until the day after I had already returned the vehicle.
If you are looking to rent a car, I strongly advise you to stay away from this place.

U-save - Austria Salzburg. did not give us what we paid for - paid for mini van when got there they did not even have one - what a joke
then tried to say we went over the border which you cannot without a license
charge for damage that was already the vehicle luckily I took photos,
committing fraud everyday
they also left us with a blow and refused to give a car collect the car or get involved - so i had to call the local police who were brilliant. i was then threatened for calling them at the end of the contract. do not use them for your own safety.

Got to the counter and it was a complete sales job. I was told I needed a Sun Pass even though I told them I was going up and down A1A. Then told I needed multiple insurance coverages. One for me one for the car and one for passengers. The person did not speak English and I ended up getting a Lyft ride to go back to the airport and get a car
HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE

UPDATE - they triple charged me!!
The review of the company is centered largely “so far” on their indifference to a breakdown of a vehicle and more importantly the impossibility of getting any live support.
I picked up a car @ San Diego airport “area” as this location is quite a trek from the actual airport.
The real issue is on my last full day vacation in the city the car didn’t start. It was literally impossible to get anyone on the phone at the branch to address this frustration stranded in my Airbnb. Almost 100 calls trying stuck without a working car.
I called the Los Angeles location (apparently unaffiliated) who was able to get someone and inform them that I was trying to reach them. So I called again and same thing - voicemail.
The national number directs you to an online form to fill out and to call the local affiliate. Basically you’re caught in a loop. It’s the shadiest most frustrating insane experience if you have an issue and have to reach them. Good luck!!
SO I needed to take an uber for $20 to the location from my airbnb. They did have a nice guy come back with me to jump the car (battery was dead).
I asked to switch to a new vehicle. They agreed to do so. So I drove the car back. Mind you at this point I had burned 2 hours of my time on vacation.
In rushing back I didn’t bother to worry about the 1/4 tank of fuel I had used. Pedro the manager demanded that I leave and go fill it up. I can’t imagine a reputable national chain worrying about such a thing. “Our car broke down, we don’t answer the phone and this guy had to spend money on an uber to come in person to deal with this. We can cover the 1/4 tank of gas..” - That’s the correct response. Seriously learn some customer service! As far as I’m concerned they owe me for an uber ride. Frankly they should comp a day due to losing half of it dealing with this nonsense.
This company is to be avoided. They will end up out of business ultimately. No way a company lasts in the long run treating people the way they do and being completely unreachable.
Reading other reviews I’ll be ruthlessly monitoring their behavior on their outrageous $500 deposit policy. If they claw back a dime they will be hearing from attorneys.
I also intend to get them removed from Expedia where they came up as the first option and why I chose them. I have began this process, and I will relentlessly pursue this goal with how I was treated by their manager. No apology - nothing but matter-of-fact rudeness.
I’ll relish the day they close because that is a given unless they somehow radically change their process and add live human beings to their national call line.

It was surprising to learn that a modern car can lock its doors with an electronic ignition key from inside the car. But it was even more surprising to hear from the supplier that they don't have a second key and that unlocking is the customer's responsibility, even with the most comprehensive insurance available.

Usave did not provide rental car at quoted price at booking. Agent demanded additional fees and charged excessive insurance although I provided auto insurance coverage. Agent deceptively charged more than $100 additional fees.

What a con job! So booked the original booking by a 3rd party but pick up was via Greenmotion Manchester Airport.
So for context, I travelled 24 hours from Australia for my Mum's funeral having pre-booked and it was 7:45am in the morning. At pick up I was told that without a credit card I wasn't allowed to collect my car. Oh wait, unless you pay several hundred pounds more!!! So it is possible, you just have to pay more!!! Can I use my UK debit card? No. Can I used my Aus debit card? No. Can I use the credit card I'd recently got but only had digitally in my apple wallet - no.
I had to Uber over to the rental village and managed to get a car with Avis, but it cost me about x6 times what this was going to cost me!! And guess what, Avis accepted my physical debit card for deposit payment!
Steer clear of these charlatans, and I'll be leaving this review on the Greenmotion page aswell. Never again!

Fraudulent and misleading!
We strongly do not recommend this car rental company!
We had reserved a specific car model online – an SUV, Skoda Karoq – which we needed because we were going skiing.
At the airport, we had to wait a long time until the rental representative arrived to meet us. The paperwork process took an entire hour! The price had apparently doubled! When we raised a complaint about the price, it was then reduced. The security deposit is only refunded within 30 days.
An unpleasant surprise came when, instead of the selected car, we were given a different class vehicle – a VW T-Cross, which is smaller than the model we had chosen. When we stopped to refuel, we discovered that the car’s tires were inappropriate, and one tire had virtually no tread at all.
We will never choose this car rental company again! It was a big mistake and a waste of time for a service and price that did not match what was promised! The rental is located in Innsbruck, Austria.

I am very disappointed with the customer service I received at their office in Lamezia Terme Airport, Italy. Unfortunately, the attitude of one staff member completely spoiled my experience and reflected very poorly on the company as a whole.
The staff member I dealt with was unhelpful, dismissive, and came across as arrogant throughout the interaction. Instead of trying to assist or resolve the issue, his behaviour made the situation even more frustrating. Good customer service should make customers feel valued and respected, but this was far from the case.
It is a shame because one person’s poor attitude can damage the reputation of an entire company. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides proper customer service training so future customers do not have to go through a similar experience.

They deserve -100 and all of the negative comments are deserved! They are literally the Spirit airlines of rental car agencies with their outrageous fees, bottom of the pickle barrel customer service! Our flight was rescheduled; had to land at a different airport in Florida (Tampa instead of Orlando). All the legitimate good business practicing agencies were sold out; even off airport. Found this Mickey Mouse operation through Expedia. I have avoided Expedia for this reason for all of my traveling life. This experience reminded me why! Usave sends you a very nice welcome message with pick-up instructions. Never answered when we arrived to request their shuttle. Took an hour of calls; almost hopped in an Uber to go there. As a tech pro, I appreciated the virtual process, here's the hook. The additional fees for everything. Showed us a small SVU on our reservation and confirmation; we ended up in a Kia car. At this point since we arrived to spend time with our sister who was gaining her wings, we relented. We were desperate and settled. I don't care how desperate you are; STAY AWAY! We are returning car to them early as our sister has passed on and I don't even care that they don't refund us. At this point, I want to be rid of them! Bait and switch, mafia business practices that skirts barely legal operations.

This is definitely the worst car rental company I have ever encountered. Please avoid them. I rented a car from them through Holiday Autos at Salzburg Airport. I had already paid in advance for full insurance, road tax, and an extra fee for snow chains.
When I picked up the car, they made me pay an additional €19 for the road tax (even though a 10-day vignette in Austria costs less than €10). They also forced me to pay again for their insurance, and I was told I would have to buy my own snow chains if I needed them. The staff were rude, impolite, and at times even threatening.
They handed over the car in a dark area where it was impossible to inspect it properly. They also charged €200 to my credit card for potential future traffic violations and told me it would be refunded 30 days after returning the car. Of course, they never refunded the money, and they do not respond to my complaints.
The car itself was an old piece of rubbish, registered in Bulgaria, with no windshield washer fluid, which is extremely dangerous at that time of year. In the end, the total cost turned out to be about 50% higher than renting from a normal car rental company.
Avoid them at all costs. They are the worst scam company I have ever come across, and they don’t even deserve a 1-star rating.
U‑Save replied to my review and asked me to send my complaints to their customer service because they value their customers. I sent my emails, but they did not reply at all, and my 200 euros were never refunded. This is the worst scam company I have ever seen — they only want to steal customers' money.
They asked me to send more information so they could check the details. I sent it, but they never replied. They are acting just like a genuine scam company would.
The only channel through which they communicate is via their replies on Trustpilot. They have no customer service phone number, and their email addresses appear to lead nowhere.
Update: Be very cautious with them. They are clearly a scam company. Even though they reply in this thread, they do not respond to anything else. They have no customer support and seem to be focused on taking customers' money.
More than 90 days have passed, and my money has still not been returned.

We prepaid and when we got there they required a 30,000 insurance coverage from our personal insurance (I think they said personal property and she admitted it was buried in the fine print). We have very good car insurance. I’m sure they set that amount knowing that no one has that kind of coverage. They got the guy in front of us with the same scam. Our rental went from 150 to 850. We refused to do business with them and they refused a refund even though we didn’t use their car. I also take issue with car rentals.com for doing business with this agency. I thought I knew all the tricks at these non mainstream agencies. I had a copy of my insurance printed, we had our own toll pass and were only going to use one driver. Do not use this car rental company. They are truly the bottom of the barrel in the sketchy rental car companies.
We contacted our credit card company and they refunded us. Tells you something right there.

We rented this car off of Expedia. Expedia gave us a price which was very decent, but when we got to the car rental place which was off airport property, which is a whole other issue. USAVE, added all these extra fees that were not agreed upon when renting the vehicle. They didn't ask or give us an option to accept or waive these additional fees. They charged fees from Houston to Timbuktu. Something we never seen or heard of. It wasn't until I received an alert on my phone from my credit card company asking me to authorize a charge that was pending that I noticed, not only did they try and charge my credit card for toll fees, plus $25 a day that we specifically declined, they charged us triple the amount that was quoted from Expedia.
Is this highway robbery at it's finest? Who charges $25 a day for tolls, plus the toll fees? This is down right ridiculous and a scam. I have to say, we got scammed!!! We should've known better. They didn't provide us a receipt or explain what we were initialing or signing. SO, PLEASE BE AWARE, especially of the one in HOUSTON, TX. Ask for a receipt before leaving the counter and definitely ask to see what you are signing because they don't explain it to you. I also want to mention that customer service was 1%. The 1st car, the seatbelt didn't work. They had to switch it out. As I mentioned before, the rental place is off of airport property, so we had to wait for a private shuttle that stated they were 24/7, but since we made the mistake without checking in advance, we had to turn the car in early and catch an uber back to our hotel because the office didn't open until 7am and out flight was leaving at 6am. It was such a big inconvenience for my family and we travel a lot, but never had this kind of experience from a car rental place.

Please do not use them.
They did not give me the car cause they asked me a flight ticket to rent the car I already booked and paid.
In the booking process they did not ask me any flight ticket.
I live in Rome, where i book and paid the car with Usave, so i did not have any flight ticket.
They did not give the car to me and I was forced to find another company.
The low tariff they expose via DiscoveryCar are not real.
After you book with them at cheap tariffs, they ask you a flight ticket or to activate insurances with extra money.
This is not fair nor right.
Do not use Usave.
