Do your research.

Firstly, I cannot say for sure that this company will, or will not, save you money on your electricity. But from my experience I would be very wary.

Got a phone call while driving in the car, in which they said they were "YU Energy', with whom my current deal runs out in twelve months. "Did you get our email regarding qualification for our zero standing (daily) charge?". I asked them to call later when I would be back in the office.

Later that day I got a phone call from a very (too) friendly chap who told me that he "was from You Energy" and had "Great News, he could reduce my monthly bills". "Had I received their Email?". I had, so I brought it up on my screen, and it certainly looked like it was from You Energy".

Warning sign 1 - "Can I remind him what was the value of my last bill?".

Warning sign 2, once I had told him the value of ny bill - "We can cut your bill from around £1100/month to around £450". Wow! Didn't realise that electricity bills had come down, especially through the floor.

Warning sign 3, when I told him I had two meters and he said "Let me call you back after I speak to my manager, we might be able to bring the figure down even more.

In the meantime I check out TrustPilot, and to be fair, it's a pretty good rating with lots of positives. However, the 1 start ratings look genuine and make me nervous.

So I check out the email which has a contract starting twelve months from now, for a three year deal. Sure enough, my daily charge has gone down from £1.59 to £0, a saving of about £50 per month. However my unit charge has gone from 22p to 28p, an increase of £214 if applied to last month's bill. I'll leave you to do the maths.

When I get the call back, I ask the obvious question.

'Oh! Can you leave that with me for five minutes and I'll call you back?"

48 hours later, no call back.

As I said, maybe they can save you money, this is just my experience. Oh, and one other thing. Their commission was 10 x higher than my existing broker.

We categorically do not misrepresent ourselves as any other supplier, including YU Energy. Any suggestion that we would impersonate another energy provider is entirely untrue and not reflective of how we operate. Such allegations are serious and unsupported.

The pricing example quoted in this review also appears selective and incomplete. Energy contracts are structured around total annual cost, consumption profile, contract start date, and wholesale market conditions — not isolated elements such as standing charge or unit rate in isolation. It is misleading to present partial figures without full context.

Furthermore, the reviewer states they cannot confirm whether we would have saved them money and acknowledges that no agreement was entered into. Publishing speculative claims without having become a customer, while making serious accusations, raises concerns about the legitimacy and intent of this review.

If the reviewer is genuine, we invite them to contact us directly with verifiable business details so we can investigate the call recordings and correspondence referenced. Without this information, we are unable to validate the claims made.

We will also be formally raising this matter with Trustpilot for review, as we believe this post may breach their guidelines regarding authenticity and competitor interference.
