Tewkesbury Travel lodge review
I stay at Tewkesbury Travel lodge regularly, because I think it's one of the best travel lodges about.
It's well managed and clean, reception is very good and it's in a quiet spot a walk into Tewkesbury is possible to see the lovely abbey.
Staff are well trained/by management, and friendly and helpful.
It has a bar/cafe which is very good for food and drinks.although the menu is over complicated.
Breakfast is brilliant.so are the evening meals.
Rooms are a good size with excellent large shower.
Also has a large free carpark,and a lift.good wifi.
Only way it could be improved is with deals for weekends.like a free breakfast with two nights.
Some other lodges I stay at are just a room and a vending machine so I gave five stars to Tewkesbury travel lodge because it gives so much more.
We stay at the Heathrow Heston M4 EASTBOUND
We stay at the Heathrow Heston M4 Eastbound facility usually for a week at a time , at least twice a year . The staff are excellant, helpfull , always happy and upbeat , ready to ask if everything is ok. Cleaning staff always ask if we need anything. Rooms are good and comfortable with space. This is why we always choose this particular site over any others. Puts other sites and hotels into shame
2 friends went to Stratford on Avon 2
2 friends went to Stratford on Avon 2 - 5th May. We were given a disabled room & on querying this were told there were no twin rooms in the hotel apart from disabled rooms. I find it hard to believe that only couples stay at travelodges. There was no wardrobe, no drawers & the only place to put your belongings & clothes was the floor. There were no bedside cabinets & in the bathroom nowhere to put your toiletries except at the back of the toilet. Who wants to put their toothbrush behind the toilet ? The WiFi was only free for 30 minutes a day & the 30 minutes started from switch on so if you forgot to turn it off again your 30 minutes went pretty quickly. In the 21st century WiFi should be available when you need it Not just 30 Minutes a day. I always stay at Premier Inns but unfortunately this time they were fully booked. I will never use another travelodge I'd rather stay at home in comfort
Very poor accommodation
We stay every now and again with Travelodge and recently stayed for two nights at the Southport Travelodge.
For some reason we (and we noticed others too) were allocated to the top floor (6th floor). At check-in we were offered the chance of a lower floor but trying to be helpful and after being told it had a better view we accepted our allocated room.
This turned out to be a big mistake.
The view (peering out of our window covered in Pigeon droppings) was of the rear delivery yard of a Morrisons supermarket and was noisy with deliveries and work going.
In the room one of the 2 coffee mugs was stained and had a hair in it. I went into the corridor to a staff member doing the bedrooms who washed the mug saying they don't have spare ones. (We don't drink the allocated coffee as it's terrible so we bring our own)
The bed looked like it might be one of those you see on their website photos but
I suspected it might be an older version or if not just one that was well used as both my wife and I found it uncomfortable and we both had a bit of backache in the mornings.
Also in the bedroom, there was two plastic chairs, (yes 2!) But my wife noticed the layer of dust on them and dirt around the edge of the seat (obviously never cleaned) so we didn't want to sit on them until I got some toilet tissue which I wetted and used to wipe the chairs clean (should have brought some wet wipes with us!).
In the bathroom the shelf above the sink was sloping slightly and I tried to push it back (gently) into position and our toiletries fell off so we moved the majority onto the table in the bedroom. The hair & body wash in the shower had a broken cover which kept falling open even if it was very slightly touched. The hair & body wash and the soap over the sink both ran out (obviously not topped up enough for our stay)... didn't report this as couldn't do with the hassle of someone coming to the room so we used our own.
The shower had a very poor pressure, barely strong enough to rinse soap off your body. The sink tap water was only luke warm and again had a poor flow.
Other things like a tiny TV and insufficient storage and hanging space are the norm with Travelodge.
Whilst accepting that sometimes you get what you pay for and maybe we were just unlucky with our room allocation we felt these issues to be unacceptable and we wouldn't stay at the Southport Travelodge again as it was the worst one we had stayed at. Strangely the corridors and stair areas seemed in quite nice order, better looked after than the rooms!
We did mention some of these issues to reception to give feedback.
We stayed in the Wembley Travelodge

I recently stayed at the Travelodge Travelodge Edinburgh Central Queen Street
I recently stayed at the Travelodge Edinburgh Central Queen Street for two nights in a family room. While the room itself was clean, there were a few issues that significantly impacted our stay.
Firstly, there was no phone in the room, which made it difficult to contact reception or make requests without leaving the room. Additionally, the window was unusually small, making the room feel quite stuffy and limiting natural light.
The main issue, however, was the noise. I couldn’t sleep at all during my stay as the noise from the corridors and surrounding areas was unbearable. Every 15-30 minutes, I was awakened by the sound of doors banging, which was incredibly disruptive. We requested a room change from the receptionist, but we were told that there were guests with children, which explained the noise. However, the same level of disturbance occurred on the second night, and no solution was offered.
When I approached the staff at reception to express my dissatisfaction, I was met with a complete lack of professionalism. They didn’t apologise or offer any assistance; instead, they simply stared at me, which I found rude and unhelpful.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience, especially given the price and location of the hotel. I hope the management addresses these issues for future guests.
Helpful Staff
We stayed at the Travelodge London Central Farringdon on 9th April. The lady receptionist who checked us in at midday was very helpful. Unfortunately I didn’t get her name. We had booked a Super Room and it was very good but the coffee maker wasn’t working. As it was late at night when I discovered this I didn’t do anything about it. When we booked out the following morning Maya asked how our stay had been. She was most apologetic when I informed her about the coffee maker. She gave us advice for any future visit. We will return to this hotel. Good value, very clean and a great shower. Conveniently based for where we want to go

Travel lodge Blackpool south shore
First time staying here and my last. Everything was as expected on arrival. We went straight out but before that asked for a travel cot. We arrived back after having food and overheard a family complain about waiting nearly two hours for food and the staff spoke to them like garbage saying you can complain but nothing I can do about the food and just had a bad attitude. I felt bad for the family. But anyway they had not added the cot. I went down again and asked, waited another 50 minutes, I went down again and told reception that my two year old was just about staying awake after his milk and isn’t safe for him to stay in our bed or the single in the room. They then brought the cot 20 minutes later. The next day for our prepaid breakfast there was nothing on the buffet, had to ask for more stuff to be put out. I don’t normally complain but wouldn’t want anyone else to have an experience like we did unless they sort it out.
Substandard room
Having stayed in a Travellodge before and had a good experience , my stay at the Stafford Central was disappointing. I was allocated a tiny room on the second floor and it was clearly in need of work. The window didn't shut ( fortunately the nights were not cold ) and the TV was tiny and square so that the picture was stretched and distorted, making it difficult to watch. It was also a garish colour and the old remote had no picture adjustment. The lino in the bathroom was peeling away from the wall. I spent two nights there and it was not pleasant.
Brilliant
From start to finish the hotel and staff took care of me, from Kasia very helpful indeed, then suzana really thoughtful and kind. Keven bubbly and mindful,And Taz always ready to help.
No sleep at all 😡
Stayed at Travel Lodge Gosport. Staff friendly and breakfast ok but please for the love of god make it so that the bathroom extractor goes off and doesn’t run all night long. Got even noisier about 3am. Did not sleep a wink. Most places have a switch to turn it off or they go off on a timer. If I’d have had a sledgehammer it would have been used to smash it.
Travel Lodge, York Central, Micklegate
We stayed at the Travel Lodge in York, Micklegate and I was so surprised by how nice it was! It was my second time staying in a Travel Lodge and I am always a bit apprehensive after reading reviews but it was brilliant. Location was perfect. Receptionist was friendly and professional. The bar was lovely and the room was spotless. Can’t fault it at all.

Very small beds …
The twin room had the smallest single beds in, they were as wide as a camp beds and not much comfier, the room was a good size but as I didn’t sleep well it ruined my stay in London
