I've had a Yaris Cross self charging hybrid for two and a half years now. The tiny 12v battery won't hold a charge for more than two days without locking me out and needing the AA. I am now par... See more

Big shout out to Daniel in Toyota…
Big shout out to Daniel in Toyota Dunfermline who ordered then put on wheel trims in middle of torrential freezing rain on Hogmanay. TREMENDOUS customer service and I shall recommend him. THANK YOU!
I bought my Toyota Yaris from Steven Eagan 2017
I bought my Toyota Yaris from Steven eagall in 2017. I have had it serviced by them regularly. I have just sold it due to having to give up driving,However in all that time it cost me the princely sum of a windscreen wiper blade. The car never let me down and always ran perfectly. I don’t understand why there so many negative reviews regarding Toyota
As a long-time admirer of Toyota
As a long-time admirer of Toyota, I purchased a Toyota RAV4 (2020) on August 3rd, 2023, from Snow Toyota in the UK. My choice was driven by Toyota’s reputation as one of the most reliable car brands in the world. I took great care of my car, including using a steering wheel lock and disabling the keyless entry system daily to protect against potential key signal cloning.
However, my experience with Toyota UK has been deeply disappointing.
On March 13th, 2024, Toyota issued a statement acknowledging a security vulnerability in their vehicles, including the RAV4, related to the CAN bus system. Despite the severity of this issue, I was never notified or warned about it.
On July 26th, 2024, I completed my car’s MOT at Steven Eagle Toyota. Shockingly, despite the inspection, no mention of this vulnerability was made to me.
Unaware of this critical issue, my RAV4 was stolen on October 12th, 2024, using the same security flaw Toyota had publicly disclosed months earlier. Evidence from security camera footage, feedback from property management, and the repair company confirmed the theft method.
After recovering the car via GPS tracking, the damage required repairs. However, the insurance company’s repair request for dashboard and steering wheel replacement was met with an exorbitant £10,000 repair estimate from Toyota—nearly half the car’s value (£21,000).
Toyota’s response was dismissive. They refused to take responsibility for the incident or offer meaningful support. Their only suggestion was fitting a tracker, which I already had. Based on UK regulations, issues of this magnitude warrant a recall and a solution, yet Toyota provided neither. When I contacted Toyota’s customer service, they confirmed there was no assistance available for victims like me.
Ultimately, I lost my car, declared a total loss after two months of delays. While my insurance offered excellent support, my faith in Toyota was shattered.
What’s particularly troubling is Toyota UK’s inconsistent communication. While they claim not to store customer details, I still receive marketing advertisements from the dealer I used. They could have used this same communication channel to warn customers about the security vulnerability.
In the past six months, I recommended Toyota to two friends, and they made purchases based on my suggestion. However, after this ordeal, I will never recommend Toyota to anyone again. I have also shared this experience with those friends and others, discouraging them from trusting the brand.
For reference, here is the link to Toyota UK’s statement where other victims have shared similar experiences: please in google search for toyota-gb-statement-on-vehicle-theft
Toyota’s lack of accountability and support has left me deeply disappointed. I expected better from a company of this stature.
I will never buy another Toyota vehicle.

What are Dealerships doing to your Brand?
Toyota’s Values
Toyota's values include respect for people, continuous improvement, and welcoming competition. Toyota also believes in the ability of people to change things for the better.
I’m surprised really that Toyota Motor Company has such poor reviews. I did contact them in relation to an issue I had with a Dealership that sells their cars.
On Toyota UK website they suggest that you can ‘Rely on a Toyota Approved Used Car’ and under ‘Quality & Reliability’ they say ‘All Toyota Approved Used cars are inspected by our technicians and pass a comprehensive 145-point technical check’.
After various issues, with a less than 6 month old car, I suspected a certain dealership hadn’t carried out this check fully. Once I started to ask for a copy of the report showing this 145 point check (they call is a PDA) had been done, I never heard from them again.
So I thought perhaps Toyota might be interested in the fact that their franchised Toyota centres may not be doing what is advertised on Toyota UK website. Their reply was, ‘we are the Manufacturer & Distributor or new vehicles’ and the 145 check is carried out by the dealerships.
It would appear that Toyota UK are not concerned if what they advertise about ‘Quality & reliability’ is not carried out by the people they entrust to sell their used cars in a Toyota approved main franchise. No secret shopper or qualify checks seem to happen to make sure that the ambassadors for their brand are maintaining the standards of the company.
Perhaps a clearer message is needed on your website to say ‘All Toyota Approved Used cars are SUPPOSED TO BE inspected by our technicians and pass a comprehensive 145-point technical check, HOWEVER THIS IS DOWN TO our franchised Toyota Centres AND NOT A REQUITEMENT FROM TOYOTA UK.
Sadly, as much as I love my Yaris Excel (it is a super safe, good looking & well specked car), the cabin noise which is akin to an old banger from the 90s, means my journey with Toyota as come to an end.
I'm hoping you will respect this review and look to continuous improve your brand.

BZ4X has major problems with electrical discharge from ancillary battery following recall upgrade to safety system. Broken down 3X, Toyota UK don’t respond to us despite numerous emails or our local Toyota service centre. Really bad customer service. Time we changed brand!!!
A frank and honest review to comw
Excellent service quality- Vantage Toyota Morecambe.
Vantage Toyota Morecambe just restored my faith in car dealerships. I needed 2 new tyres and a 3rd fixing or replaced. Having done a lot of research to find the best deal on mid-range to premium tyres, I was surprised to find it was my main Toyota dealer. I was even more surprised when they fixed the 3rd tyre (rather than replacing) and didn’t charge me for this repair. Great service and great value. I have previously owned multiple Mercedes, BMW’s, Audis and suffered their dealerships lousy service quality and high costs. The experience at Vantage Toyota has to date been a stark and delightful contrast to the supposed premium German brands. Also delighted with my Rav 4 plug-in hybrid.
12v battery fails without warning leaving you stranded.
CASE2013678
In February my car 12v battery failed and it cost me £179 to get the AA out to start the car and take me to a local Toyota garage. The garage has been great but ToyotaGB head office have been terrible, and 9 months later it's still going on, they just don't seem to care. They think a trickle charger is a solution and even that has taken month for them to agree to cover cost and then further months to get a refund. The 12v battery failure issue is well known to Toyota but non of this was made known to me when buying the car - a failure of duty of care as the battery can fail anytime.
Never buy electric vehicle from Toyota
My new Toyota BZ4x is arrived and delivered to me in September 2024.
My home charger was fixed in August 2024.
Since then I am facing multiple issues with my home charger and I am keeping on escalating till now and Toyota doesn't bother about it as the car is already sold.
Toyota have contract with British gas for fixing charges and British gas having contract with Hive for charges.
Now the issue is no one is ready to take responsibility to sort out my issue and just passing to each other as usual.
There are multiple occasions I plugged my car for charging and in the morning it was not charged at all.
Since the charger is fixed it was not connected to network.
On September 17 my appointment was scheduled with British gas to visit to sort out the issue and as usual they never turned up or called about appointment.
Finally in mid November British gas engineer visit and checked the charger and told there is something wrong and he will escalate to the next team to sort out.
According to him was not recommended to charge car as something is wrong and at the same time he rang Toyota who told there no issues and you can charge your car.
Toyota person also told me that they will be in touch with me in 3 working days which they never till now.
The biggest issue is you never know if your car will be charging after connecting to charge.
You will be getting unexpected surprise in the morning when you will know that the car not charged at all.
Pathetic service by Toyota and I don't blame people leaving Toyota.
The sales team will give you all promises and then after handing over the car we are facing poorest after sales service.
I will never step foot in a Toyota car…
I will never step foot in a Toyota car show room ever again.
The sales man looked like he couldn’t care less about talking with us, when we gave the price we can afford he took a deep breath and looked disappointed. He used we buy any car to show us the lowest price for my car. It was so unprofessional. But I did find out his wife drives a £90k bmw. Our money is as good as the next mans but never have I been made to feel like a poor person or pooh on his shoe

MOT test certificate error
Be sure to check all paper work when collecting your car from Toyota.
Having specifically requested any issues to be rectified during a service before the MOT test, requested online when booking and when delivering the car, subsequently following agreement a new tyre was fitted. However this same NEW tyre is shown as being close to the legal limit on the MOT certificate.
To avoid such confusion, consider alternative service providers.

Joke of a garage
I've had problems 100% of the time dealing with Toyota Bristol North over the last 3 years. They have never given me the car back with the correct tyre pressure. They fitted a fuel filter incorrectly so the check engine light came on and the car kept cutting out. Refused to replace the rear view that fell off (known issue with my make and model). Put a budget tyre on the car when I wanted a premium one. I was stuck in a contract with them and now after the last time of having to deal with them where they've damaged my car and put a huge deep scratch on my bumper I am done! NEVER again. The place is a bad joke.
