Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 27 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people encountered significant issues with customer service, finding it difficult to reach assistance and experiencing unhelpful responses. Customers frequently reported problems with product quality, including items falling apart quickly, colors bleeding, or garments shrinking after washing. They also felt that many products were overpriced for the quality received, with some items not meeting expectations for durability. However, some people were satisfied with the product's design, materials, and comfort, describing certain items as luxurious and well-fitting. These positive experiences, though present, are overshadowed by the more prevalent concerns regarding customer service and product durability.

Poor design, poor quality!

I have been a long time customer of Tommy Bahama. My closet is loaded with their clothing items. Of late, I am finding their sizing varies and recent purchases are very disappointing. My latest purchase of a Desert Fairway Polo Shirt is an example. The sleeves are 4 and a half inches longer than previous long sleeve TB shirts. I also ordered Cotton Modal Boxers. The design has a fly that opens upward, not sideways. This is ridiculous. The male body doesn't work this way!
Unfortunately these were sale items and not returnable!

Quality is Not What It Once Was

I have been wearing Tommy Bahama clothing for decades and have probably spent $10k-$15k on their merchandise over the years. The quality used to be solid and dependable. In recent years, however, there has been a noticeable decline in that quality. Shirts don't look very good after a few washings. I recently bought a logo half-zip pullover, and the decorative stitching in front ripped while I was putting it on; it's basically ruined after only a few wearing. Now, an expensive t-shirt is showing strange stains after washing. (A common occurrence with TB clothing is colors that run even when washed as directed). I'm just about to be done with TB as my go-to brand; there are better alternatives now.

#1 I purchased $2K in holiday gifts 1…

#1 I purchased $2K in holiday gifts 1 week before spend $175 and receive a $50 coupon and know one at the store informed me.
#2 When I did purchase additional items with the promotion and was able to use the $50 coupon I can purchase TB items cheaper at other retailers utilizing the $50 gift card @TB.
This is a horrible sale tactic!

Wellington

Wellington, Fl.
Allison and Karen both always give high quality service. They are warm, friendly, and extremely efficient. Today, Karen helped me. She understood what I wanted, and took care of my order in a matter of minutes. I love going into the Wellington store, as I always feel welcome. The clothes are great also, and both Karen and Allison are always able to guide me and help make the right choice,

Terrible quality, incredibly overpriced

More than 50% of their stuff is linen, which done right can be nice, but theirs it’s the lowest quality ever, looks like garbage after just one wash. It’s a wrinkly mess and you can’t get it to look right no matter what. I worked there and a shirt that was supposed to be 100% silk caught fire because it was next to a candle and it literally melted like plastic. I get that the brand can be appealing to some people, but they’re taking advantage of their customers by selling overpriced junk. They have some “promotions” but even with that, they’re already making an incredible amount of profit on their low quality products. I saw some products with the exact same style and fabric sold at Costco under their brand at 1/10 of the cost. Do not fall for this crap.

Tommy Bahama gives $50 rewards

Tommy Bahama gives $50 rewards
Out to customers who spend $100
However; and there is a big But
If the article is $99.50 they will NOT honor
The reward no matter how long you have
Been a customer and an Island member
It is absolutely ridiculous but they have made it deliberately like that!

Poor clothing quality

Poor clothing quality - it is made in a factory in China like less expensive clothes. They use a lot of low quality, cheap fabrics. Just because they advertise luxury doesn't mean they are - shopped one time there and never have again due to poor quality blouse.

I am sick about Tommy Bahama furniture…

I am sick about Tommy Bahama furniture (sold under the name Lexington Furniture) since it is such poor poor quality. specifically the Royal Kahala bedroom nightstands and dressers!!!! I don't know how they get away with selling it anymore. I sent 3 dressers back to the dealer Watson's Cincinnati. I gave up. It's expensive and the style is gorgeous but horrible quality, unrefined workmanship. So sad. Furthermore a few years ago we bought the dresser and nights stands for our lower level bedroom. Since I had a housekeeper while working full time, I was not aware of the many flaws in the finish until a few years after the purchase. Be careful too because some items in the catalog are retired but the catalog was not updated. I bought a table and a year later tried to order the China cabinet shown in the catalog. The order was denied because the cabinet was retired 10 years ago. NO KIDDING! Terribly run business. Don't be fooled by a pretty face!!!!

Ordered two shirts

Ordered two shirts. First, silk, and wrinkled beyond looking decent when washed according to the instructions. Second shirt, bad material...hot, sleazy, did not breathe. Both on sale, so could not return but $150.00 down the drain. Customer service responded with empty pep talk about how they value my feedback so very much.

Had 4 pullovers

Had 4 pullovers, 2 with collars and 2 without. Fabric is pulling away from the insignia. Tiny holes but getting worse. They stain easily and have to spray Shout on spots as soon as I take them off. Very pricy for such poor quality.

my order was sent to the wrong STATE !

I ordered a pair of trouser to have it shipped to California. Instead of California, my order was sent via Fedex to Florida !
However, once I was able to speak to a live customer service agent, after 30 minutes, the delivery problem was somewhat resolved with the helpful agent. TB didn't have what I ordered so I had to settle w/ a different color.

Nice fit and patterns, poor quality

Tommy Bahama camp shirts have been a favorite of mine for decades, but the overall craftsmanship seems to have declined over the years. I bought the Garden of Hope camp shirt about 2.5 years ago, and since I live in the northeast of the United States I've only worn it perhaps 20 times or so. Even with dry cleaning every time, a seam literally just fell apart under an armpit. I contacted Tommy Bahama customer service directly, and they were able to confirm my purchase directly from the company, but were unwilling or unable to compensate me in any way. I found a tailor who fixed it, paying $8 out of pocket, and I'm hoping this shirt doesn't fall apart in any other way. Quality matters, but mistakes do happen. What I found so disappointing is that Tommy Bahama does not stand behind the quality of their products. $148 shirts shouldn't fall apart, and I shared pictures to prove beyond any possible doubt that this was a quality problem, but they didn't seem to care at all. As a business owner for many years, this very obviously is a situation when a company should just send a coupon, pay the $8, or something! I'm leaning strongly against future purchases, and that's unfortunate after so many years of enjoying their camp shirts.

Rude customer service

For one hour and 45 minutes and then I finally had someone to call me back which they did in an hour and a half. I had ordwres 2 kids chairs in May 30th. The lady that day helped me arrange to get 2 matching chairs with the matching canopies for free. I decided to try to get 2 more of the same exact chairs and they would not honor the free canopies they said I could only get one per order.

The customer service number is…866-986-8282

The customer service number is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Can’t get thru, never call back when
asked to leave a callback number. The wait time is an ABSOLUTE LIE!!! Then I get an email request to rate my customer service call with ( I won’t mention the name) but I never spoke to a person. Tells me someone falsified their call back stats.
This place is SIMPLY AWFUL, shame on this management!!!!!
