Epoch online subscription management confusing!

The Epoch Times has a wide range of topics they report on and I feel they have very fair and honest reporting. I have been following them since covid back in 2020 and have had a digital/paper subscription with them for about 5 years. I enjoyed logging onto my app on my phone to get the most current news around the world. Love Jan Jekielek's interviews, Cross Roads reporting, and Facts Matter! However, the online account management tool is a nightmare! I had hard copy of news going to my elderly parents whom loved getting this unbias news! Parents are now gone and i wanted to just change my account subscription to just digital and what a nightmare that was!! I ended up not changing my subscription but adding additional subscriptions (i am pretty techy but this was crazy confusing!). Then, I called customer services and the person tried to explain to me what subscriptions i had and it was still so confused as to why additional charges were showing up and what subscriptions i actually ended up with so I canceled everything. to bad. Epoch, please do better, this was very frustrating.

The least biased news source

I have used Epoch for a few years and it is now my go-to news source. I hardly trust any other news sources these days but Epoch is the closest to unbiased, fact-based reporting that I have seen. I also like how they report on stories that no one else does, and have lots of educational material and reports.

The truth

I'm sure the far left and most other main stream news facilities hate this paper because the last thing they want is for the Truth to get to the people. That will just hasten their spiraling down viewership.

Biased news for the MAGA minded

They present themselves as an unbiased news source, but don't be fooled. They are a 'traditional values' news. Articles are written biased against lbgtq and anyone not white Christian. They are the MAGA supporting news. Complete bias spreading hate of 'the other'.
When they say they aim for 'truth and tradition' they mean 'traditional values' which is code for narrow minded conservative values that aim to disparage groups that dont fit their view. When you report from a 'traditional ' perspective, you cannot be unbiased. It is not journalism, it is biased to a traditional values perspective. Stop hiding behind the cover of words like 'truth'. It's as true as Donald trumps 'truth social'. Using the word true, doesn't make it so.

Odd Focus Recently

The Epoch Times has become overly focused in a few areas, at the expense of other important areas. For example, we read incessantly about Falon Gong persecution, the newsletter fails to report about the MANY other persecutions happening around the world. Too much attention is given to China, at the expense of other countries that I would like to know more about (like Iran and North Korea).

Reply from The Epoch Times

Dear Esteemed Reader,

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback.

The Epoch Times reports on many global human rights issues, and while the persecution of Falun Gong is a major focus, it is far from our only one. We report on it because it remains one of the most severe and underreported abuses in modern history—especially in Western media, where coverage is often absent due to pressure and influence from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Falun Gong is a peaceful spiritual practice centered on the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. Since 1999, its practitioners have faced systematic torture, imprisonment, and even forced organ harvesting by the CCP. These abuses are well-documented by major human rights organizations and have been recognized by the U.S. government as among the worst religious freedom violations in the world.

This issue is not just about China. The CCP’s disinformation efforts and transnational repression campaigns are expanding and directly impacting people in the United States. Chinese dissidents, rights advocates, and faith groups have been surveilled, harassed, and silenced even on American soil. This kind of infiltration threatens U.S. values and national security. If the CCP can target Falun Gong practitioners and get away with it, they could do the same to any individual or group who speaks out against them. That’s why we believe it is critical to report the full truth.

At the same time, our reporting covers a wide range of global crises—from the persecution of Christians and Uyghurs to developments in Iran, North Korea, and beyond. We strive to highlight stories of injustice wherever they occur and give a voice to the voiceless.

We’ve shared your feedback with our editorial team as we continue working to improve and expand our coverage. Thank you again for reading and for caring about truth in journalism.

If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us at https://help.theepochtimes.com or call 1-833-699-1888.

The Epoch Times is an excellent newspaper!

The Epoch Times is a fantastic newspaper and source of information way beyond politics. The variety of articles, subjects and content are unmatched by any other newspaper the Mind & Body section has so many good articles and interesting information and are always at the front of the curve. The opinion page has excellent perspectives too. Every week is refreshing especially in this day and age where most get their same news streams on their iPhones. I look forward to this paper and almost have a hard time throwing them out and many times give them to others when I am done considering much of what is reported stays relevant. Best newspaper - hands down!

Good news coverage

Good news coverage, thorough but brief with links to more details. I especially love the games and word puzzles. And always a lovely musical selection to enjoy. The cultural sector is enlightening and informative. The Epoch Times is my favorite news source. Keep up the good work.

The Epoch Times is no longer reporting…

The Epoch Times is no longer reporting the facts. Just saw them covering the protests in Los Angeles. It is NOT a city in riots. It's criminals/opportunists, not protesters who are causing chaos. Shame on you. I am canceling this subscription immediately as you are no longer reporting the facts. I can get incorrect information for free from FOX news.

I don’t remember signing up for this…

I don’t remember signing up for this newsletter, and they continually send it to me multiple times a day despite having requested frequently to being unsubscribed. If you ever see Epoch Times, look at another paper. Do not click on it. I have no idea how they got my information but I am not interested and they flood my email.

The only newspaper I need to follow…

The only newspaper I need to follow current events. I also love the 'Family and Health' sections. I appreciate in depth articles and not 'sound bite' information.
My husband is from the UK and read the Telegraph. He says he enjoys reading Epoch Times as it's very similar in it's balanced coverage and in depth articles.

I only got my subscription stopped when I cancelled my credit card!

I only got my subscription stopped when my credit card was changed; they lied about stopping my subscriptions so many times do not join up. I rang numerous times, and was told that my subscription had been stopped - that I was no longer being charged, but this was not true. And every time I rang it was difficult to get through, and again I could not cancel the subscription, which was against their terms of service. I had to change my credit card to stop this payment - that of itself is insane.
