Battery and customer service fail

I purchased an iPhone 13 and paid extra for a new battery. Unfortunately the battery was either not new/ damaged as the battery life was bad from the start and degraded quickly. No problem. I contacted Swappie about the issue and the only solution is to clear your phone of everything and have it sent back to them, where they guarantee to LOOK at it within 10 working days. So we are talking about 2 weeks without a phone until you are guaranteed they will even review. And that's without any repairs. This is not practical for anyone. How can you manage without your phone for that amount of time as a minimum. They just ignored me then, that's the only solution take it or leave it. It wasn't our first purchase, and previous experience there were no issues, but how a company handles problems is the real test. I wish I had looked into how they managed problems before I purchased. There are lots of companies offering similar products at similar prices who also can handle customer difficulties without leaving you without a device for several weeks. I would not purchase from them again as their customer service is totally inadequate for the type of product and the cost of what they sell. Phone was purchased in November but not used till after Christmas.

Hello,

We genuinely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience this situation has caused. We completely understand your position — being left without a functional phone for a prolonged period is extremely difficult and disruptive.

Unfortunately, we are unable to locate your order or review your previous communication with our customer support team to analyze the details further. Regrettably, we do not offer loaner devices during repairs, as this is standard warranty practice across many electronics retailers. However, we are always eager to resolve any issues within the scope of our warranty service.

We would like to explain that our warranty inspection process takes up to 10 working days, excluding shipping times. Because this involves battery performance, our technicians need sufficient time to test the battery using specialized diagnostic equipment to identify the fault, analyze the cause of this abnormal behavior, and determine whether a replacement is required.

While we understand that sending your phone in for service is inconvenient, we can help arrange expedited shipping in both directions to shorten the turnaround time, though we still cannot provide a temporary replacement unit. We sincerely hope you will reconsider and allow us the opportunity to make this right. Please reach out to our support team at info@swappie.com or via WhatsApp so we can organize faster delivery for your warranty claim.

Best regards,
The Swappie Team

Iphone: Excellent condition, only the touchscreen doesn't work.

I bought a brand new mobile phone because of Swappie. I originally planned to buy a refurbished iPhone from Swappie and asked them for a premium quality one in excellent condition. The device arrived soon, which looked really nice. Unfortunately, it seems to have been a simple display piece, because despite the nice exterior, the touch screen barely worked, it didn't respond at all. It makes you wonder who tested this and how. I was forced to return it and I'm very disappointed. Fortunately, the return went without a problem. I no longer trust that I will get a usable device if this offer is labeled as perfect for them. So now I'm going to buy an original one because of them... I don't recommend buying from them, because it will only depend on your luck whether you succeed or not.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We sincerely apologize for the disappointing experience you had with your device. We completely understand your frustration and your reaction to this situation.

Regardless of where a replacement part originates, it must be fully functional. Our technicians select all components strictly based on their performance, quality, and our extensive technical experience. We can assure you that a touch screen barely responding is abnormal and certainly not up to our standards.

Every single device we sell undergoes a rigorous testing process by our specialized technicians before it is shipped. However, electronics can sometimes suffer unexpected hardware failures. We are deeply sorry that this occurred in your case and impacted your trust in us.

We are glad to hear that your return process went smoothly without any issues. We truly appreciate your honest feedback, as it helps us continuously monitor and improve our quality control procedures.

We hope you enjoy your new phone, and we wish you all the best.

Best regards,
The Swappie Team

Faulty battery, unwilling to help

Got a great phone from them and selected the option for Swappie to install a new battery. What I did not know is that it was a non-OEM battery which is of extremely poor quality. If I had known i would have kept the original battery. Within the first month it would drop from 80% > 10% and then 0 within 15 minutes.

Reported this to customer service and they said theres not much they can do.

Fast forward 2 months and my phone now has died twice from 100% and then reboots to 10% with an hour or so usage. Asked to swap it for a functional model under warranty which they agreed to but are now unwilling to send a replacement phone first. I need this phone for work so cannot go 1 day without this phone functioning but they are unwilling to send a phone first even after I’ve offered to pay a deposit.

Bit worrying if a company can’t be without a second hand phone worth max 300 euros for a few days.

And this was after they also short changed me on a hand-in phone, they first quoted 250€ when I sent them it in, once they inspected it they brought it down to below 150€

Avoid at all costs. I now have a paperweight for a phone that overheats, could cause a house fire and will need to be replaced because it could cut out during a meeting

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We genuinely apologize for the negative experience and the frustration this situation has caused. We fully understand your position, relying on a phone for work makes any hardware issue extremely inconvenient and disruptive.

We would like to explain that our technicians carefully select replacement batteries based on extensive testing and performance standards. When we install a brand-new battery, it is intended to function just like an original one. The drastic drops in battery percentage and reboots you described are clear signs of abnormal behavior that should not happen. Unfortunately, electronic components can sometimes fail unexpectedly, and we are truly sorry that this impacted your device.

To resolve this under warranty, we do need to receive the phone back for inspection and repair. Regrettably, we do not have the facility to provide loaner phones or send a replacement unit prior to receiving the original device. While we realize this is inconvenient, this policy is standard practice across many electronics retailers. We sincerely hope you will still consider sending the phone in so that our team can fix this for you and ensure your device works reliably.

Regarding the device you traded in with us, we checked our system and located the order. The initial quote of €157 was based on the condition selected as "Almost new" in the online form. However, upon technical inspection, the condition was adjusted to "Very good" with the price of €115 due to visible signs of use and minor cosmetic imperfections.

We are truly sorry that your overall experience with Swappie has been disappointing, but we remain fully committed to making things right through our warranty service.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We genuinely apologize for the negative experience and the inconvenience caused by the delay.

We checked your order and indeed, there was a delay on our side due to a high volume of orders during that period, for which we sincerely apologize. We can see that you also reached out to our support team while we were looking into this. Please rest assured that the payment for your phone was processed on August 4th. Depending on your bank, the funds should arrive in your account within five business days from that date.

We hope this clears up any concern and appreciate your patience with us.

Hello,

We are truly sorry to hear about your experience and completely understand your frustration.

We would like to explain our process regarding replacement batteries. Across our inventory, we use original Apple parts whenever possible. When that is not feasible, we use high-quality replacement parts that have been thoroughly tested by our technicians and selected based on functionality and extensive user experience. Even if a battery has been replaced, it is designed to perform just like an original part, and we are very sorry that you experienced anomalies with yours.

We notify you that a part has been replaced only after the purchase because we handle a vast inventory of devices with various configurations. Once a specific device is assigned to your order, we send you the detailed information about that exact phone. General information regarding our batteries is always available in our Terms and Conditions and in the dedicated battery section on our website.

Regarding our warranty service, once a phone is received for repair, the process typically takes about 7 business days (excluding shipping times). Our team works as quickly as possible to restore your device and always takes your preferences into account, including requests for replacements. While our warranty team makes the final determination based on technical diagnostics, we unfortunately cannot offer temporary loaner phones during the repair period — this is a standard procedure across most electronics retailers.

Please rest assured that we are doing everything we can to resolve this issue and return a fully functional device to you as fast as possible.

Iphone 14 Pro best condition

I bought an iphone 14 pro with a new battery in the best condition. The first one arrived completely damaged, even though i paid for the best condition, not the cheapest one. The second one wasn’t as bad, but after a month or two the battery became terrible. It dies randomly, whether it’s at 100%, 70%, or even 1%. Sometimes it drops from 70% straight to 1%. The battery health also changes overnight. It’s been like this for months because they stopped responding to my emails after they gave me the wrong or non working package number.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your experience. Unfortunately, we are unable to check your order details directly from this review to see its status and analyze what went wrong, but we truly understand your frustration and are sincerely sorry for the trouble you have faced.

It is deeply disappointing that the first phone you received did not meet your expectations. Regarding the battery issues on the second device, this should definitely not be happening. A battery must be fully functional, and shutting down randomly or dropping percentage drastically after just two months is certainly abnormal behavior. Unfortunately, technical faults can sometimes occur with electronic devices.

We also sincerely apologize for not providing a proper response sooner. We never ignore our customers' inquiries and process every message in the order it is received. We utilize an AI assistant to help manage requests, which may have provided an incorrect tracking number in your case. We are truly sorry for this oversight, as we are constantly working to improve its accuracy. Normally, if the automated system cannot resolve an issue, your request is transferred to a human agent.

We genuinely regret that we cannot check your order status right now, but we want to make things right. Please reach out to our support team again at info@swappie.com or via WhatsApp so a human agent can assist you immediately and help get your device checked or repaired under warranty.
