Extremely clear, well explained and friendly, highly recommend!

The media and graphics were very good and explained the concepts very well. The detail contained in each module is comprehensive and the way the tests and mock exams build you up to the real exam is very constructive and helpful. Throughout the course the instructors were available for questions and clarifications.

The slides were very easy to follow, and the help along the way was spot-on and crystal clear, delivered in a very timely fashion.

Very structured training module considering I had no previous experience in sailing, I didn’t need any guidance just kept going over the training modules and mock exams till I was confident enough. I had only completed a Competent Crew course in March 2025 and then enrolled in this Day Skipper theory which have now passed and looking forward to the practical next.

I took the online yachtmaster offshore theory certificate. I did the same with dayskipper so knew what to expect. Online presentation materials, tests and additional resources give more than enough to get you ready for the final exams. Great support from the instructors too.

The course was clear and straightforward. Very quick responses from the instructor team available through the website. Unfortunately the iPhone app running on my iPad didn't work well, but the browser version was excellent.

Only advice would be: it would be great to have more feedback from the instructor for the individual lessons, as you only get realtime feedback on your final exam. And not on the mocks or the coursework.

Nevertheless, it was well structured and I learnt plenty. Passed my DS with no issues first time.

Really enjoyed the course. Was nervous about self study rather than in classroom with someone to interact with but it worked really well. Clear detailed explanations. Easy to understand where you are up to and prepared you really well for the exam. Very prompt responses to requests

The RYA Day Skipper Theory course has been a really rewarding journey so far. Even though some subjects feel slightly challenging at times, the structure of the classes helps everything make sense step by step, and you can actually feel your knowledge growing with each session.
