Mark is a brilliant tutor teacher me a lot and help me very well appreciate the time he took to explain things in more detail for me and always watched over me to make sure I didn’t need help with anything 10/10 will definitely be seeing him again for another course

I attended a 6 week carpentry course followed by a 3 week joinery course in February and March 2026. Having little experience I was slightly anxious about the course. I needn’t have been. From the first day until the last, the three instructors, David, Kev and Paul were patient and tailored the course to the pace of each member. Their knowledge and experience of all things carpentry and joinery related is exceptional. I learned so much in such a short period of time and can take this new found confidence into the workplace. I would highly recommend Able Skills, especially the carpentry department.

Able Skills has fantastic facilities, and dedicated staff that care about personal growth.
I like to particularly thank Mr. Keith Rush. He brings so much enthusiasm to the class. He has brilliant way of making learning easy and enjoyable.

I’ve completed several electrical training courses with Able Skills, most recently achieving my 2391 qualification. The tutoring was excellent throughout — Trevor was especially supportive, ensuring we stayed on track with our coursework and were fully prepared for the final exam. I’m very pleased with the experience and would highly recommend Able Skills to anyone looking to advance their electrical training.

What an excellent centre!

I initially planned to do just a week of plumbing, but ended up completing the entire 6-week handyman series, as well as the 3-week hands-on painting and decorating course, and I am now also undertaking the extended 6-week carpentry course.

Everything is very hands-on, and the amount I’ve learned each week has been remarkable. A huge thank you to all the excellent tutors, with a special thanks to Mark (painting and decorating) for his outstanding support throughout the course and for tailoring the learning to suit what I wanted to achieve, as well as to Simon and Martin (bricklaying) for their patience and making the course a lot of fun.

I’m already planning which courses to take next. From the admin team, I’d also like to thank Dan, Hannah, and Jade for always being so very helpful.

Already eager for the next course!

Really enjoying it so far. The course instructor has a lifetime of experience, makes it so everyone is engaging in the topic being discussed and has answers and real life scenarios for all our questions. Facilities are very good as well so really happy to have chosen Able Skills.

Course in fact exceeded expectations very well structured which I commend the tutor mark for who was supportive and informative throughout the process created the optimum environment to learn and achieve. The staff in the office were also equally as impressive with great customer service provided throughout my time also worked around some issue on my end which I’m massively grateful for. If I’m looking to further my skills in future I’ll look no further than able skills.

Steve the tutor was really knowledgeable and good at explaining subjects to us in a way that was easy to understand.
