Never Again - Lesson Learned
I have placed several online orders with Rona. Although there is a Rona 15 minutes from my home, some items are only available online and only permit having them shipped to my home; I would be happy to pick them up at the store. Without exception, every one of the items arrived broken.
I am writing about my experience ordering a BBQ. When it arrived, the box was damaged beyond reuse and one of the parts was twisted making it unusable. Rona was contacted immediately, a photo of the damaged part was sent. Radio silence. I wrote to request an update and the next day was sent three options, of which, I choose to have a replacement part sent. There was no way I wanted to find a box large enough to pack up the various elements of the BBQ and try and ship it back. That would have taken a full day, likely, and I had no interest in doing this. Anyway, option selected and the next day, I write again to seek an update. I hear a vendor has been contacted and when it is ready to ship, I will hear from the vendor. Nearly a week goes by so I write again only to hear that my issue is being investigated and thanking me for my patience and understanding. Out of both, I call Rona, only to hear that "a dedicated team is working on my case" and that they have "processes that take time". I ordered this BBQ on August 23 - it is now September 18 and I have no resolution on when I can expect this replacement part. Never again will I order anything from Rona online. Lesson learned.
The WORST customer service from RONA's third party delivery service
I had one of the worst experiences with Metro Supply Chain delivering for RONA.
I arrived at my delivery location 15 minutes before my scheduled 11:30–2:30 window, after driving an hour to be there early. When I got to the property, I found a “Sorry we missed you” notice, even though no one had come to the door. I immediately called Metro Supply Chain at 11:24am and was told I was delivery #10 and the drivers had just finished #9, so they would be heading to me shortly.
I waited at the front window until 1:30pm, watching carefully, and no delivery ever arrived. When I called again, I was told the drivers had supposedly been there at 11:51am and tried to call and knock — but this simply did not happen. Later, another representative claimed the GPS showed they were there at 11:34am. These stories completely contradicted each other, and both ignored the fact that I was physically there the entire time.
To make matters worse, when I followed up again, I was treated dismissively and essentially told I was wrong — rather than having my concern acknowledged. I’ve now had to rebook, but the waste of time, money, and energy was extremely frustrating. If drivers are going to arrive earlier than the scheduled slot, they should wait. Instead, I was left with misinformation, denial, and no accountability.
This was unprofessional, unfair, and deeply disappointing. I sincerely hope RONA and Metro Supply Chain take responsibility and improve their service, because what I experienced was completely unacceptable.

Do not do business with Rona
Do not do business with Rona. We ordered a kitchen faucet online and they didn’t send all the parts. This was discovered by our plumber. We paid for a plumber who was unable to install the kitchen faucet because of Rona’s terrible job of not sending all the parts. The return and refund was totally mismanaged. We will never do business with Rona ever again. Waste of time and money.
Worst experience ever
Hello. I just had the worst experience at your Langford location. I had 4 items (2 being the same) and arrived at your till at 10:54a. I know the time because I was checking every couple minutes as I had to pick up my child by 11:20am. The first 2 items rang in fine, then it comes to the wood. The cashier looked around and did not see a code. She opened her book and starting flipping through, could not find it. She paged for help, no answer. She paged again, no answer. She called someone directly, no answer. She then asked the male cashier if he knew what they were. He did not. He finished with his customer and came over to help. He did not know. He flipped through his book and punched the sizing into your system, could not find it. At this point I asked if they wanted me to tell them where I got it, the cashier said ‘no she needs the name’. The male said to call for help and she told him no one was answering. So he paged for customer service. No one came. She tried calling again, no answer. She flipped through the book some more, then called another number. Finally she got someone. It was about a 10 sec call where he said he could not help her and to call 4170 ( I assume another local) and no one answered. She flipped through the book some more. Ginally at 11:14am, I said this is ridiculous and that I had to go so only took the 2 items. If you feel I am exaggerating, check your camera - I stood there for at least 20 minutes to get pricing for a $4.99 product that was less than a 1 minute return walk away which I told her that was the price several times hoping she would manually enter it.
Look at the video. I did not yell, swear, or act upset - I simply stood there, leaning up against your big spray, as they ignored me. I could not believe how awful this was. After I paid for the 2 items I went your front desk to get a manager card and was told, managers don’t give out cards.
This was the worst experience I have ever experienced and the first time I have ever replied online. I then noticed your reviews are nothing but scores of one, so it is clear you company, or at least that store, does not care about its customers.
Just terrible!
Broken Dishwasher on Arrival
I absolutely do not recommend ordering any appliances from RONA.
While I understand that customer service delays can happen, a $500 product should be addressed and resolved swiftly, usually within a week.
They didn’t even bother offering any kind of compensation for the delay or wasted time (maybe that’s me being a bit demanding, but honestly, I’m pretty irritated while writing this review).
After 8 days, I finally received an email saying I could ship the product back.
I had originally asked for an exchange plus maybe a small gift card (like $30), but at this point I’m just glad I can return it, I don’t want to do business with them anymore.
And if you don’t have a car or any way to transport it back… good luck with that.
If they had a lower rating they would…
If they had a lower rating they would get it . Please do yourself a favour and Don’t order a kitchen from them . 15000$ later and our kitchen looks like crap . The doors don’t line up the hinges are stripped the front of some drawers are tilted and can’t be aligned. For them to come check them they want another 500$ .
Everything we have purchased from Rona has been a problem. The only reason we went to them is because we love supporting Canadian companies however not to get ripped off. We had to return one cabinet because the designer messed up pullouts that didn’t fit because of the way it was ordered by them .
Do not buy from Rona online
I bought a Blackstone pizza oven (model 6825) online using the Rona website. Save yourself the hassle, and do not purchase through the Rona website. I contacted Rona customer service since my new $1300 oven was missing the advertised infrared thermometer. Rona issued me a ticket number but that was the end of their service. 1.5 months have passed and the Rona ticket is still outstanding despite my repeated follow up with Rona. I eventually contacted Blackstone to resolve the problem directly.
Do not buy their appliances online…
Do not buy their appliances online unless you like throwing away money. They do not honor warranty. Been waiting months for someone to come do a repair. June, July & August hitting up to 3 months waiting for an incompetent to come fix the dishwasher. By the time the repair comes the warranty will be expired and right now we still have 3 years on it. Pathetic. Wish we purchased from the Brick.
we had BAD experience twice with Rona…
we had BAD experience twice with Rona in Montreal- broken big kitchen cabinets that was in box and we had to pay 3 times for delivery
And also bought Samsung Dryer and it stopped working after 1 year and 1 month and no parts available.
Wont deal with them anymore!!
John: Rona Maple
John from Rona in Maple is very knowledgeable and personable man-several times he helped me to find items I was looking for ( tools, kitchen cabinet handles, garden hose). I know that I can trust experienced people like him with my hardware shopping.
The customer service representative was…extremely rude
The customer service representative was slow and rude and did not respond back for long periods of time. They said they would issue a refund for an item I never received but I haven’t gotten any refund yet.
Wrong and misleading information that could have caused an explosion in my house
Several times we go to RONA, we cannot find anyone to give us advice and the workers there either don't have the knowledge or indifferent. In several occasions, I had to go to home depot to get the advice.
My last encounter with RONA was buying a BBQ online. The name of the product and the description were wrong and misleading.
the item was "Outsunny Smart Grill Silver 2-Burner Propane and Natural Gas BBQ Grill (Item #36733265)."and the fuel type was "Propane and Natural Gas BBQ". However, when I got it, the manual only mentioned Propane. I reached out to them by email twice and they confirmed that it work with Natural Gas BBQ. then the third time they finally contacted the manufacturer and advised it cannot work with natural Gas. This could have caused an explosion in my house because of the different pressures. they didn't even take the time to check with the manufacturer before they answer me the first 2 times
Ordered lumber online for delivery takes 4 weeks
Ordered lumber online for delivery, and received a call within 45 mins stating that will not receive for 3 to 4 weeks as it is coming from distribution center, but they have plenty in store for pick up. Why can't they just deliver from the store is shocking to me, so waiting for refund and going somewhere else as this was a simple order of Plywood for various thickness and a few 2x4s for about $500's worth. So bye bye sale profit.

Disappointing Warranty Experience with…
Disappointing Warranty Experience with Kobalt Nailer
I am writing to express my deep disappointment following a recent attempt to submit a warranty claim for my Kobalt nailer at one of your.katanat/ stittsville locaton.
While I understand that Kobalt is a brand you no longer carry, the way I was treated by your staff was truly unacceptable. Rather than being met with basic courtesy or assistance, I was made to feel like an inconvenience. One staff member continued chatting with a colleague while I attempted to explain why I was there, barely acknowledging me. The overall attitude was dismissive and borderline offended that I even brought the issue in.
It wasn’t just the lack of help — it was the clear message that my presence, and my problem, didn’t matter.
Given this experience, I’ve made the decision to take my business elsewhere. From now on, I’ll be turning to Home Depot, and other retailers for all my lumber and tool needs.
Thank you for making that decision

worst customere service on the planet
I purchased several hundred dollars worth of concrete block at the Park and Tilford location which is a corporate store, when I finished the job I had one ½ size block worth only $2.36 which I tried to return to the Rona on Granville, also a corporate store. My intention was to purchase a brick veneer to cover the facade of the concrete block retaining wall, a purchase that would have been several hundred dollars.
However the employee named Kushal would not take the item back because he told me that it was discontinued. I then went to the contractors counter and asked if it was discontinued and they told me no it was not, it was just not a regular stocked item but that they could order it for me.
Kushal lied to me when he said it was discontinued.
I left the store without purchasing the brick facade that I has gone in to purchase, I instead went to Home Depot and purchased it there.
Rona's terrible level of service cost them $736 in lost sales today because Kushal would not refund me $2.36 on an item purchased from a different location.
I will not be giving Rona my business anymore, they Suck!
Good truck rental, out of stock issues
I once rented a truck from RONA and it was just fine, the price was good, the service too. They didn't try to stiff me. No complaints. On the other hand I recently found a piece of balcony furniture I liked online. It showed as in stock in the store. I go to pick it up only to find out that they don't have it.
Product was never delivered, terrible service
Ordered patio furniture online. Paid over $1200, free delivery was included. The furniture was never delivered!!! I have spoken to several people, they cannot say when it will be delivered and will not issue a refund as it is “in transit”? UPS does not have the package, and neither do I and now I have no patio furniture and I’m out $1200!!! Very angry!! Terrible company!! I will never shop with Rona again!
The staff are great for the most part
The staff are great for the most part. The prices are high and rising like groceries, especially for small odds and ends. Expect to spend an hour if you're picking up small bits, hence my worthless time writing this while waiting.
