Rude employer who lie

I had similar but worst than others experience. It looks like the conduct and performance of that company are particularly poor when they are request by police following a break in. My house was broken in through the front door by police for false alarm by a neighbour. A man came up to my house. I asked him to identify himself and he left without talking to me or doing nothing to my damaged front door. I contacted the company (Police gave me contact number). The person who answer the phone said I refused their service which is an absolute lie.

Avoid if you can

Like others this company attended my property when police broke and entered in error trashing the front door. The police said my tenants wouldot have to pay for this. They were quick to attend and partially temporarily secured the door: they put a piece of MDF that was only lockable with a padlock from the inside. Tenants could not leave the property and lock it from the outside. Ten days after the incident they were invoiced £240, with a £12 reduction on prompt payment of within 1 week (invoice was received 1 week after date on invoice, so already late). Extortionate amount for a temporary measure where my tenants were not even given a choice to consider agreeing to it. Still arguing the claim with police but it is unacceptable the way this company operates: no transparency and far too expensive service for what is only a very temporary patch.

Absolute rip off

New
Police called them out for a welfare check for my stepmother.
I asked how much and the guy said don't worry about it. A couple of days later a bill for over £230 landed.
I explained to the company that my stepmother had died and they just said its got to be paid. Asked for a breakdown of costs and they said they couldn't/wouldn't give one. They're not getting a
£230 for a couple of screws!!! Rip off merchents and extortionate..

Directors should be ashamed

Directors should be ashamed. Awful company.

The Company has a contract with the Met Police which allows them to charge extortion prices without a prior quote being approved and often taking advantage of people in distress (burglary / death of a loved one). Shoddy work had to be done again as my door wasn’t secure and left unfunctional (wasn't home at the time). Then, when I called in to see if I could partially pay (for materials and not their awful labour which actually caused damage to our door) – they refused and threated with court proceedings.

Classy.

Understanding staff

I am very grateful to Sue who understood my difficult situation of seeing the bill 5 months later, following the eviction of my disappeared tenant who had caused me not to be able to get into my property until 3rd November 2024.

Although original bill was dated 4th June 2024 when I wasn’t there having no opportunity to see that bill whatsoever, still after a nice telephone conversation today, Sue has kindly agreed to write off £14.10 from the original bill in June.

I am very grateful to Sue for being so kind and considerate considering my extremely stressful situation after the eviction of my tenant.

Thank you so much for your understanding and tremendous help Sue.

All the very best to you for everything.

Worst experience ever and poor quality work

Worst experience ever. The guy came in whilst I was talking to police following a burglary. No one mentioned the cost and job was done and guy was gone after securing a door. Nails used to board the door were 3 inches In and dangerous for little children. Fee was high and no support even though I had no signed agreement to proceed with their work. Horrible response without understanding the circumstances of how they proceeded without making me aware of high costs local lads were cheaper and more secure. Board is letting light in and very cold in the house due to poor workmanship. Still had to pay full cost.

Very happy with the service

Very happy with the service, arranged payment and that I needed it done in the day. They said call whenever I wanted them to come and they would be there in the hour, which I did and they were.

The only thing I did have issue with is the price, it was expensive for what they did.

The very worst imaginable business.

The very worst imaginable business.
When my mother suddenly collapsed and subsequently died alone at home, the emergency services had to force entry by smashing a large window in the front door. The police called Rapid Secure Limited to secure the premises.
A contractor spent a few minutes placing two battens and screwing a board across the gap. The lower batten was only wedged into one side of the frame, meaning that the board was left flapping and insecure. Anyone could have easily pulled the board off by using no tools and minimal force and then entered the house. Significant gaps were left all around the board, allowing rain to enter the house. On the day that we lost our mother, we had to spend time properly securing the board and doing the job that Rapid Secure should have done.
We then got an invoice for £228.
We have explained to RS's Debt Recovery Department why this invoice won't be paid and have sent photos of the shoddy work. This work is clearly in breach of the implied contract term that services must be provided "with reasonable care and skill".
RS's response is to ridiculously try to claim that the work was perfectly adequate!
A dreadful business that will be avoided at all costs.

UPDATE 25/10/24.
Following a Freedom of Information request to Suffolk Police, I have now received the following confirmation that the police will pay the costs of repairs for forced entry for welfare purposes. Either Rapid Secure Ltd are unaware of this, or are fully aware and just try it on anyway.
The following has been extracted from the Constabulary’s ‘Search and Entry into Premises’ joint force policy with Norfolk Constabulary, which specifically addresses emergency boarding up/securing premises following a forced entry:
“The relevant Constabulary will meet the cost of temporary boarding up when arranged by the CCR. However, the Constabulary does not routinely pay for permanent repairs / replacements unless Police actions were unlawful – this will be determined by legal services.”
To provide additional context, the Constabulary will meet the cost of temporary boarding. That is to say we wouldn’t leave a property insecure, however we are not committing to fitting a new door/window. We are merely making the property secure again. This could be (especially if the property Is vacant, i.e. occupier goes to hospital) that the doorway would be boarded shut, and the occupier would then make arrangements for a new door at a later date.

UPDATE 5/11/2024
Rapid Secure Debt Recovery Manager has now agreed that the invoice should never have been sent to us, but should have gone to Suffolk Police to pay. It's unbelievable that they didn't know the policy of the police force that they were working for.

Extortionate rates

The contractor that came out to do the job quickly came out to secure my window. But the company itself the staff on the phones are rude and not helpful. All I wanted was a breakdown of the receipt to justify the 234 pounds for (5 mins work), and they would not give me one which shows me they charge what they want. Don’t get me wrong I knew it would cost to have someone come out at 11:55 pm but companies like this profiting on others' misery I find disgusting. I would never use this company again, but they get most of their work through the police so they don’t care.
