Good experience. some worries.

My fifty-year old Prestige pressure…

My fifty-year old Prestige pressure cooker comes out regularly according to the fruit and jam calendar. So last week it was marmalade time and it was clear the rubber gasket was leaking. But your fast response (not helped by a very slow Courier service) got the parts to me in time for me to finish the three batches of marmalade.

Terrible parts / spares web page

Terrible parts / spares web page - suitable only for irritating the idiots
Missed the point that that one part requires you to buy another extra part for compatibility - so wasted another week and extra cost of postage. Parcelforce 48? arrived 1 week after ordered. THe Bairns are starving because the cooker was out of order. No parts diagram to confirm the fittings, Book was out of date on these parts so at a Loss to recognise the issue until the "wrong parts" arrived. "Prestige(ious)" ? Huh, NO, not a lot any more. Why do we bother? Bother? well having bought the Pan, what else to do with it? Price of parts not an issue, just the SERVICE "...go to webpage.." uhuh" pass the buck. and we wonder why Society is "Angry" with every thing / body ?

Plastic clip removal

I ordered a new brownie baking tin and it's arrived very promptly. It is excellent quality, but I could only give 3* because of the hard plastic clip attached to it which was extremely difficult to remove and had neither instructions for it's removal, nor the purpose of it. I eventually removed it with sharp scissors but it left a scratch. It spoilt an otherwise good purchase.

I am sorry to hear that the tag on your bakeware proved to be difficult to remove.

As these can be hung in store for display, the tags have to be secure. Having said that, for the future, there are some tried and tested ways to easily remove them (depending on the shape of the product):

1. Bending the tag back and forth until the plastic becomes soft and the tag can be twisted off
2. Sliding the tag to a corner and twisting off

Prompt dispatch of spare parts for…

Prompt dispatch of spare parts for pressure cooker.
Spend time working out which parts you need using the instruction manual and the order of assembly. Needed a new style handle to take the metal bracket (replaces plastic support) supporting the pressure cooker regulator. It all fits and works well.

Serious kit for a serious sear

I recently put the Prestige 6-Piece Cast Iron Set to the test on a date night, and the results were restaurant-quality. The 25cm grill pan and heavy press are a game-changer for searing steaks; they retain incredible heat, which is perfect for my Neff induction hob. While cast iron requires a bit of 'love' with seasoning and hand-washing, the crust it develops on meat is far superior to that of any standard nonstick pan. It’s a heavy, durable, and professional-feel set that is clearly built to last a lifetime. If you're serious about your cooking and don't mind the traditional maintenance, this set is an absolute bargain for the performance it delivers.

Lovely pans and free from nickel to…

Lovely pans and free from nickel to which I have an allergy, so super pleased with them. They’re heavy enough without being too heavy but they feel solid and well made. Beautiful colour as well and great that they’re eco-friendly.

Superb: 4 x poacher pan

I bought a 4 x poacher pan for my partner, who is helping to care for his elderly parents. The glass lid makes is easy to see how the eggs are cooking. As his parents have a 4 x slot toaster, the toast can be popped on the plates simultaneously, then the eggs are placed on top of the toast simultaneously too. So 4 x servings, all piping hot. Eggs are one of the most nutritious foods you can eat & are easy to digest. I chose Prestige because my beautiful late Mum, who was an outstanding cook, had Prestige pans & utensils. I now use them. So the products are 60+ years old & still look new. Also a respected British brand, so buying from Prestige is helping to prop up the British economy. My partner was thrilled with his gift.

SMART PLUS 6L/57050 Pressure Cooker

Ordered a number of replacement parts for one of my Prestige pressure cookers. Parts arrived a couple of days later.
Just stripped down cooker lid, cleaned it and replaced the handle annd all the safety devices.

Warning to people who do this with an older model, the handle has been modified slightly so you should buy all the safety devices and parts plus new seal as mixing old and new is not clever or advisable. Saved an older model cooker for a modest outlay of £32.69 including post.

My only negative comment is there were no re assembly instructions in packaging.

I am a design engineer and build mechanical equipment. But some people may not be quite so experienced.

I think this would be a good idea for Prestige to include a leaflet especially when the design has had some small but positive improvements.

Overall very pleased.

Defective pans and unresponsive customer service

I bought a set of pans which are defective. The non-stick is faulty on them. This has been admitted by the company. The handle on the pan lid is also loose. It is appalling quality for expensive pans.

In trying to reach them, I contacted their WhatsApp, as posted on their website. No response. Their Facebook Messenger was a chatbot which didn’t understand what I was saying.

I resorted to email. I actually got a reply, where they admitted the non-stick appears to be defective. They asked for pictures for the bottom of the pans.

I replied with the pictures over a week and a half ago and haven’t heard anything since. I have chased them twice but had no response.

I held off writing a review in the hope that they would resolve the issue.

Writing this now in the hope they see it and actually respond to my email and give me a refund as requested.

It doesn’t help that I don’t understand the structure of the company. Is it Prestige, Meyer or Circulon?

Genuine pare parts

Buying spare parts for a pressure cooker, I wanted to be sure they were genuine. So it is great they can be purchased direct from the manufacturer. All the parts needed were in stock, dispatched and delivered promptly. I think they were good value. My only issue was with fitting the secondary safety device - I had to find someone with much stronger fingers to install it and perhaps it could have been designed better.
