Ashley was an amazing trainer

Ashley was an amazing trainer. He’s very easy going and thorough in the training. He will let you know if you’re ready and he will iron out your faults. He’s now more of a friend than a trainer and I will be popping back to see him with my new bike soon. Thank you

I had a fantastic experience training…

I had a fantastic experience training with Phoenix Motorcycle Training. The entire team was incredibly friendly and supportive throughout the process. Thanks to their expert guidance, I was able to pass my Mod 2 test on the first attempt. A special thank you to Mark, Sam, and Chris for their help and encouragement.

CBT done, thanks to Ray.

Done my CBT a couple of days ago, apart from the weather being so bloody hot, i had a great day.
Ray was brilliant, didn't beat about the bush, got on with the training, both verbal and practical and made the day a good one. I highly recommend Pheonix, and of course, Ray!.. 👌👍🏻

The Best Motorcycle Training in the North West Bar None

From booking my CBT to taking my Mod1 &Mod2 has take over 12 months due to my lack of experience on a motorcycle. The training and knowledge which Phoenix advise and the instructors in Wigan (Nick & John B)provided has been nothing short of outstanding in the time taken to pass both Mod 1 & Mod 2 on the first attempt. The bikes you learn on are top of the range Honda and Suzuki. I cannot recommend enough Phoenix training in the North West if you want to learn how to ride a motorbike

Just completed my CBT here at Three Sisters and couldn’t be happier.Big thanks to John who was fantastic and shared so much extra knowledge about bikes beyond what the course even required. Also a huge shoutout to Nick who used his free time to jump in and help out . Both are incredibly patient and professional.Highly recommended Phenix Wigan to anyone !

Recommended for your CBT

The facilities were good and the instructor, Ben Turner, was very experienced and managed a good mix between support and direction in getting me up to standard as quickly as possible. I would recommend Phoenix and Ben to anyone looking to take their CBT

Thank you Sam!

Couldn't recommend this school enough and in particular the trainer called Sam! Sam took me through my CBT almost 2 years ago and my Mod 1 and Mod 2 fully motorbike test. He genuinely cares and has incredible patience along with great experience and clear instruction. He made the course a breeze and I genuinely feel safe and confident on the road.

Overall the school has great equipment, all the gear you need and a large enough facility where you can practise all of the manoeuvres comfortably in the car park. It sounds like a given but I know that with other schools you need to practise some manoeuvres on the road...

Did my CBT here yesterday

Did my CBT here yesterday

All went ok i do have one issue
The instructor Greg wasnt so friendly
Didn't seem to have patience for bike learners and made a good few dodgy comments during the 8 hours I was there
Just unnecessary snappy comments
Example...
I said did you mean come to a full stop at the White line....
His response was well stop means stop dont it...which Is passive aggressive
I did think to quit but paid alot of money to do
So just beware 😏
He asked a question i wasnt sure if he was talking to me or not..
So I said was u asking me ?
His response was well im looking at you ain't i....again passive aggressive and snappy
The last thing a nervous learner needs

Reply from Phoenix Motorcycle Training

Hi Raymond,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and for choosing us for your CBT.
Firstly, we're pleased that you successfully completed your CBT and appreciate your honesty about your experience. We understand that learning to ride can be a nerve-racking experience, particularly if you have had a previous motorcycle incident, and it's important that students feel supported throughout their training.
We've discussed your comments with Greg and reviewed the training notes from the day. While the feedback indicates that you worked hard and ultimately demonstrated the required standard to complete the course, it is clear that some of the communication during instruction came across differently to how it was intended.
During CBT training, instructors sometimes need to be direct when reinforcing important safety points, particularly around observations, control exercises and road awareness. However, we recognise that different students respond best to different coaching styles, and that what may be intended as concise instruction can sometimes feel abrupt, especially when a student is feeling nervous or lacking confidence.
We are sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable at points during the day. Regardless of intent, we want every student to feel respected, encouraged and able to ask questions without hesitation. Your feedback has been taken on board and will be used as an opportunity for reflection and improvement.
We appreciate you raising your concerns directly and are glad that, despite these issues, you were able to complete the course successfully. We wish you all the best with your future riding and hope you continue to develop your confidence and skills on the road.

Trail Riding Beginner Level 1 at Foots Cray

This review is for the Trail riding course at Foots Cray training facility. Four of us on Fantic XEF 250 bikes, all with varied experience, I had the least, having got my licence 2 years ago I have only ridden twice since, greenlaning with another firm in Surrey. The first hour was spent getting to know the bikes, riding around the purpose built offroad course tucked away from the well laid out CBT and DAS training area. This comprised tight wooded paths, a rut and a mound with a stepped riser we had to negotiate uphill then down. After that we had a good six hours or so on Kent byways, linked with some quiet country roads. The trainers split us into two groups matching our abilities and throughout the day corrected our posture on the bikes, gave advice on how to handle what was coming next and made sure we were comfortable with what we were doing. The trails were a mix of dry forest trails, undulating whoops, loose pebbly uphills and downhills and crossing a ford. Lunch was provided and at the end we did a lap of the course back at base, which was now an absolute doddle.
Weather conditions were quite hot so i swapped my mesh armoured jacked for theirs with wider mesh and more armour. I also used their gloves as my all leather road ones don't give enough feel, and wore one of their adventure helmets with separate goggles. The one item I was very glad of was my mountainbiking Camelbak with a couple of litres of water - absolutely essential.
All told a great day out, the instructors John and Steve kept it safe and fun and the fact we had instruction not just guiding helped to iron out any bad habits.
Highly recommended.
I would add that even if you have no interest in taking up trail riding, the skills learned on just that one day are invaluable on the road, learning how to control the bike on rough surfaces, not panicking when the back slips (although I appreciate catching it at 15-20mph is totally different to road speeds), and most importantly use of the clutch and both brakes gently to control the bike at slow speeds. At one point we were descending a rocky 20% hill at half walking pace.
